I need couplers for the 12v power supply. Where can I buy?

i cant afford caps .. -
Check out the GE DVMRe .. j/kiddin ... tweak it to the max, turn off all non essential services, dont load anything but the Geo Software, Use TCP/UDP port filtering, only allow the ports needed for access to the DVR server from the network/internet.

is it even slower than XP is .. ??

i bought my wire stripper for $5 a few years ago, use the same one, heck i use scissors when i dont have the cutters, and even used my teeth .. -
all you need to do is Port Filtering, unless you are worried about the CIA hacking in ..?

Looks like they import from Asia, some China even. Intellicam also imports everything from manufacturers in Asia. Some of those cameras on Midwests site are even the same ones Mace use.

If you are using Motion Recording, the audio wont playback unless there is Video recording on the DVR . so you can get intermitent stops of the audio on and off.

Another thing, i deleted all the ini files for Geo, well moved them to a folder on D:. Geo stopped working when i restarted it, wouldnt come up, copied back and worked fine as before, all the same settings .. Here are a list of the Geo files, not all are required though. PS. the Geo MDB files are located in the Main Geo Folder .. under /Database Seems to only use that for log info, the main settings are all in the ini files

without being able to completely check it out, as im not formating my PC right now, or going more indepth into it, there is a list of files in the %windows% folder that Geo looks for, and they are all configuration files. Anytime you make changes those .ini files are updated. Im sure there may be a way to change the location it looks for, but it will require some further research. rory

my geo here is installed on the C: drive so id have to uninstall and clean to check it out, as it stands there is an ini file in the windows folder called multicam.ini with some of the settings in it. Id have to do a format and reinstall to test, so cant do that right now. There are also some other ini files, just do a search on C:\windows for Geo*.* and you will find them.

No, what i meant was, before you installed the Geo software on the D: drive, did you do a full clean format and install of windows, then install Geo on the D: drive?

Stand Alone DVR w/ video capture through network GUI?
rory replied to darren p.'s topic in Digital Video Recorders
I guess you would need to find the local rep in your area for a demo, ive always had to actually buy products, to test them out. One thing to consider though, the evidence sharing quality of stand alones is not as good as a PC based, which is why I moved over to primarily PC based units, just food for thought. Though if you hook up the video monitor output to a simple PC Capture card then you will get really high quality, just the typical method it uses compresses it. You could also connect the monitor output to a VCR and record to that if the courts dont take DVD or CD. They have some new technology out now in some of them though, so it may have improved. The StoreSafe Pro 2 for example uses its new WaveJet compression, which i think is just another way of saying Jpeg2000 .. -

Drill at an angle so you miss the concrete. Use a piece of Telco wire or RCA cable for that short distance, so you only have to use a thin 3' Drill bit - splice it in the ceiling to the siamese. -
did you do a full format before trying any of this, and then install Geo on D drive with a fresh registry etc?

He he ... yep ... she must have a lot of money to quit a job these days ... her loss. -
ok lets clear this up please, Geo does not write to the Windows Folder, unless you visit the browser web page, then it will install to the windows folder the ActiveX. All the Geo Settings are in the Geo Main Folder, whereever you choose to place it, and in the registry. When you install Geo, it installs the system files such as the codecs to the Windows/System32 folder, and this is a requirement for almost all PC based software which install drivers or other. This way you can reformat c: and still save all your Geo settings, just reinstall Geo and it it will come back up with the same settings as before.

you got 3 channels of audio with a DVMRe ..???

we used to drill through 3 feet of solid concrete to the windows in homes here for alarm systems ... just get a hammer drill and a long drill bit.. -
Ok, Install windows on D:\ Drive, and Geo on D: Drive, end of story, please lets move on now. Geo does not install to c:\windows, it installs to %windows% so whatever drive you have windows on, it will install the system files to. There is nothing else I can suggest, it requires Windows to work. Thanks Rory

you can do that with most PTZs. With all the OSD cameras out there, they generally can all be progammed the same way - the bosh one only works with bosh cameras and bosh software, and you need to use their crappy DVR remotely to be able to set it up remotely. Pano does it also, and so does Pelco .... Anything can be done these days, it just takes people to get off their butts and do it already, dont see anything as being unique as more than likley those people got the idea from someone else ..

yes, well its the Ganz one ..
