    dealers:need quote for geo system

the system ram and CPU makes the recording difference, as it is software compression, etc.

    dealers:need quote for geo system

the system i got for the club here, from scott, has high quality parts, great machine .. im not sure what exact model the ATI card is but im sure he can tell you. Its a 1GB Memory, 750GB HDD (3 drives), and a 3 Ghz P4 .. rack case. As far as I know, the memory effects the refresh display speed, and i imagine the quality on the local CCTV monitor (not the recorded quality?)

    Geberal PTZ question

actually i didnt see your post, but good points. Some of them even use 1/6" chips for extra zoom I was just pointing out that the PTZ manufacturers generally use other manufacturers OEM Zoom camera modules, or block cameras .. just for secu masters info ..
  11. AMX should have its own system for distribution to TV channels or AV input. Its just composite output so you can simply tie it into one of the AMX's AV ports. If you are going to get the Geo, get one with the DSP output, thats analogue multiplexed, so you just use RCA to RCA on the AMX. Highest quality, better than modulated to the TV channels. Also, you can get the IR Remote control and probably expand it to reach into the TV rooms .. not sure what you would use to expand it, maybe someone else here has done that.

    Geberal PTZ question

the questions is why are the zoom camera modules that the PTZs use, mostly 1/4" ... Sony has progressive scan modules now in 1/2" ...800TVL, but the ones ive found with these chips are generally low zoom like 12x .. they have both VGA and composite outputs though ..

    Geo-adding custom capture

http://www.digitalglu.com/Products.htm?PHPSESSID=3fbd41d12ec356b6c731aa514eef231e The thermalGlu is a programmable thermostat that can be used as a standalone thermostat or communicate using a simple, secure 2-wire serial interface. It has the following features: - It can be programmed using front panel buttons like an ordinary thermostat. - sophisticated programs based on schedules can be programmed using computer software and then communicated to the thermostat using an iButton device (that can be the same iButton used as a key for the lockGlu!). - When the lock has been linked to the computer using the simple, secure 2-wire serial interface, the programming can be transmitted directly from the computer to the thermalGlu. The programming can also take into account additional trigger events, such as arming or disarming of the security system, alarm settings for a communicating alarm clock, door openings, weather forecasts, etc. - Multiple thermalGlus can be used in concert to orchestrate motors controlling airflow, blinds, etc. for differential temperature control in different rooms. - The thermostat can send alerts by email, pager or cell phone of abnormal conditions (e.g. an unoccupied cottage where the heating has failed and pipes are in danger of bursting). - The thermostat can be remotely monitored and controlled through a secure Web interface. [NOTE FROM rory - once it has a web interface, it can probably be customized to do whatever you want - but you probably wanna look for something with RCA/Composite out ]

    Geo-adding custom capture

you could even skip the Geo part of it, and use a 3rd party device that just puts the text on the camera feed, so that way the Geo will see it anyway.

AV Tech 780W - Any Good?

The cameras are your biggest problem. They are CMOS or Sharp Chips, and low res, a bad combination. Also, they are not day night cameras, they simply have no IR Cut Filter and kill the Chroma (color) so that it picks up some IR. I know you say you like the image, but trust me, they are the same cameras sold/produced by many brands, they are all the same image. Basically due to the already low quality image of the camera, the recorded image is going to be much lower even if you went with a PC based unit recording at 720x480. That said, the Wavelet compression used is actually generally a higher quality compression than Mpeg4, but takes up more space and slower over the network. Make sure you are recording in "each" mode, and not single, as single is just quad, each is multiplexed which means each camera is recorded in full size individually. The quad record will make the image look bad as its the full screen divided between the 4 cameras.
  23. well actually it would be better if there were more than 25 cameras in one multi view ... otherwise 80 camera thing is useless.
  24. it should once those RCA plugs on the cameras are regular composite video, normally any camera will work basically with an adaptor.
