NUVICO NVCC-W27IR30N D/N CLR BULLET any good ? i'm 1st timer
rory replied to K435's topic in Security Cameras
From the specs, it appears to be a budget color IR camera, not Day Night which switches to a real BW mode and which would have an IR cutfilter in color mode to block out IR from sunlight. I have used the equivelent of this camera, as it is an OEM camera, and really the IR is not great. It all boils down to what you can afford, it is a budget camera and serves a purpose, to give you some kind of image at a low price. Basically I wouldn't count on it for outdoors too much as far as the Infrared goes, but indoors it should work okay. Rory -
Hmmm, I think he lost interest, this was from June guys what about french also

No problem, when i make some $$, i need to come visit you I have alot of those problems especially back pain (cant lay down for longer than 5 hours) and sleep apnea occasionally, mostly I just stay up on the PC too much anyway .. guess cutting out the diet pepsis would help too Here is the link to the Ganz Thermal Cameras: http://www.cbcamerica.com/cctvprod/ganz/cams/thermal/thermal.html Rory

There are a couple members that use Thermal. I know Ganz has a thermal camera, they definatally arent cheap, but perhaps there is something smaller than a professional thermal camera that will also work?

Installation:: Do you have a general idea of how the cable can be run? Do you have attic space, is the house a split level, single storey, or other? Are the cameras going on the main house, or are some going to be placed off the house, like at the gate, or somewhere they would have to trench and run conduit? If you at all dont feel comfortable installing it yourself, please contact a local installer, get some references of jobs they have done in the past, and let them know what you feel you need, make recommendations to them, OR, let them know you have your parts, give them the product names only, if they look like they are lost, then move onto another installer. DVR:: That DVR is low res, 320x240, for the price i would look at an alternative, either a PC based System with an LCD monitor, or a stand alone such as the GE StoreSafe, or Sanyo. You could either run a cable to your main TV to view on the AV input, or split it up with something like a 4 channel distribution amp to view on the AV input of 4 TVs, or, you could get an RF modulator and tie into your cable TV line, and set it up on a channel, or multiple channels, eg. 69-114. All these are inexpensive and makes life easier, im surprised it wasnt mentioned for a residential install? Cameras:: I noticed color cameras were quoted. Do you have enough light for color cameras? If not, then you may want to look at either True Day Night cameras, or BW to save some money. I would stick with domes, though the price would drop some if you were to use Bullet cameras. If any areas are pitch dark, or near pitch dark, you may want to look at Infrared, such as the Extreme CCTV gear (the price you were quoted could almost be using Extreme CCTV gear anyway) There are also a lot of dealers on the forum that can assist with pricing. Good luck. Rory

just cleaning up a laptop right now for someone, S&D found 350 problems PS. where do you get AVG from? thanks Rory

to get rid of that message, disable the windows security center service.
-
also check run/msconfig/startup and see if anything else is starting up .. disable all and restart and try opening the Geo Server again ..

if its dedicated and you're sure noone has been browsing the web on it, then it should be okay. I dont use AV software on them myself, Spybot is a small program to check for Spyware and Trojans. Ive never had to install it on one yet either, though it is only a program that checks after the fact. Its worth a try anyway to cover all bases. For virus or worms though you would need an AV software, you could always install it then disable auto protect and take it off start up, just use it to check for problems. Did you try reinstalling the Geo software? Rory

another program is probably using port 80 telnet IP 80 and if it connects then another program is using it, probabky a trojan or worm .. what other software is on the PC? Remote Desktop also wont work, if it is turned off, which is what i do to all my systems. any Instant Messanging on there? Download Spybot S&D and do a full scan .. or just change the port to 81 and see what you get (port forward it also if using a router) If its anything but port 80 then ORT after the IP Rory

Find out what the labour cost is first before we discuss prices. Or ... explain how the labour is, to run the cable for the 4 cameras, is trenching involved, distances, etc? Rory
-
Speed Dome, or PTZ, will cost much more than a fixed Dome, and you have moving parts so facture that into it also. If there is noone to man the PTZ then it would have to be on a tour, without some fixed cameras, you would more than likely miss incidents. If you can afford it, use fixed domes, or any fixed camera, then add PTZ only if you need it, or can afford it, and if you dont have any way to man the PTZ, then dont even bother with it, spend the money elsewhere like more HDD space or better power regulation. actually its just a color camera that cuts off the chromo digitally, has no IR cut filter which is why it is cheaper, does less work

http://jonesbahamas.com/?c=45&a=5994 We have a Cable Company here that has fiber between here and the US for cable Tv and iNternet, then we have the government run Telco that does DSL which is pretty pathetic. Just wondering if anyone has ideas on what this means, besides the obvious Remember our gov is already in major dept.

RCA is RCA ... Electric Tape is your Friend. It "can" be very neat. Also look at Terminal Strips and Enclosures if it will be alot of audio mics. Rory
-
first off, they sell base stations which makes multi audio possible, and easier/ Red, Black, Green ... Pos, Neg, Audio Okay its been a while so take this as you will, in other words I do them every so often and do it right when I do it, juts not that common .. anyway, Take a RCA cable, cut a short piece off. You then have Middle and braid. Tie the Middle into the Audio (Green Above) Tie braid into the Neg (black above) Red (pos) and Black (neg) all goes to the Pos and Neg of the power supply. Anyways, its very simple. Rory
