Is this that same slow computer? I told you let me on to clean it up

Any mic will work, though I typically use Louroe Verifact-A microphones. They cost more than others though. http://www.louroe.com/category.php?CAT=2

I painted one also, I took everything out, covered the inside, sanded and sprayed. I also cut, modded, and painted the wall mount to fit on a pole.

Does any DVR card record 600TVL or above?
rory replied to flyeye's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
600/650TVL cameras are the same number of pixels as a 480TVL camera. You are thinking of the 960x Effio Cameras - different ball game but like Soundy said, you need a DVR that does more than D1. Dahua has a model http://www.mediafire.com/?ul0fg036byq32kd They also have an SDI one but its only 4 channels right now. http://www.mediafire.com/?000nh8f2bnuk2x1 -
Dahua HE-T, also sold as QVis Apollo HD PRO in the US/UK. PDF >> http://www.mediafire.com/?64mvlc28cw019yv

You can choose any camera to switch from one to the next, there is no multiview.

a review of a store would just be free advertising for that store so then we would loose advertisers and this forum would no longer exist. Review the product and post the link to the manufacturer, thats what happens now, people source their own store/distributor for the reviewed product and one typically closer to their location. None of these stores make the products, they simply sell the product. Members can PM suggestions to each other also, and its allowed in the dealer section as well as the spiders dont hit those areas.
-
Spot monitor output is always a single view, designed for switching cameras. The name goes back to the Spot Monitors one used along side the main monitor. The main monitor would have the multiview and the spot would be sequencing cameras or perhaps have a single PTZ.

This isn't very reassuring, considering that I'm going to buy the new ones ... Well Samsung is a big brand, as far as current cameras should be good to go. Personally I never suggest a camera I have not tested yet though. Unfortunately due to funding restraints (broke) sometimes we have to take a gamble.

Just use google, or goto Next Tag and type in the product number. It already exists.

Scooby. Do you realize the advertising that links get through search engines like google? There are entire companies dedicated to just trolling forums and posting links. There is software dedicated to it - forum poster being a popular one. People get paid big bucks to manually sign up on forums and post links, therefore bypassing previous tries of stopping automated spam. I ban daily, I delete links/posts/threads daily, it is how it is. How do we pick who can post links to stores? If everyone was allowed to post links, this would be another dead spam board on the Internet and would no longer exist for anything useful. Would you come to a forum full of spam??? Your PM inbox would be full of spam also. Seriously, you would not be here to deal with them, I would, Soundy would, not you .. if you are serious please send a PM to the Admin with your concerns, he has the last say.

I think you were saying the contrary on the linked post That was old Samsungs. I havent used the new ones yet.

Links to products are fine, just not links to online stores

rory replied to urubullino's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Is that frame rate acceptable to you? It is rather slow. Thats like 1 frame every 2 seconds. -

Looks like cheap generic cctv domes.

Top right is TDN no IR - CNB Monalisa Some other relevant samples: Infrared Comparisons: Dual CCD IR Camera - Color > BW > IR on This has 2 internal cameras, a color and a BW, always better than a single camera trying to perform dual applications - but hard to find these days or more expensive. Somewhat relevant videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOQSO8N3YLc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmhQjXMgchI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9w_KYky3BI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0hv1T_RIo4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INoH7_a_FT0

Honestly, Axis typically has the most options for browser based cctv cameras. You could use any DVR then just loop out for the cameras you want into an Axis video server. Though there is the extra cost of the Axis server. Otherwise, if it has an activeX you can embed that into any web page with your DVR's IP and login set into the params, or do an Iframe and put the DVR's web address as the source. If its only activeX though then only IE or a browser with IE plugins will work. Not sure how you have the existing site setup as cant access the webcam right now. But here is another example of Geovision activeX embedded into an external webpage http://www.bahamassecurity.com/webcam/ I dont know anything about the DVRs mentioned.

we have not had a problem with them on avers in 4-8-16 or 32. but i do remember you saying you had a problem with the dahua. if a dahua is being used then i would use these cameras. much cheaper anyway and will save money as you dont need to buy baluns http://www.adata.co.uk/Catalogue/Cameras/Vandal-Domes/High-Range/M2-DSP-620TVL-Daiwon-Lens-28-11-No-IR-VAN-2602VFHWH-SF Yep on the Dahua - but only remotely. Strange really. 8 and 16 camera jobs it wouldnt even matter for, but I have some that need more now and i dont know what size monitor they may end up watching them over the network on. I looked at Qvis but cant see if they have a TDN, that was my only issue with them - for outdoors at least. Ill take a look though, thing is its mostly asphalt in a couple jobs Im quoting so no green trees and shrubs, so may not matter.

Tom what about the picture issues of the Monalisas when viewing them in 9 way+ in software?

You lost me here, how is it all connected? Cameras into switcher, then switcher out to what video in? What type of VCR? What type of switcher, or is it a multiplexer? If its a multiplexer, use the video out from the multiplexer to the monitor. Use the VCR out to the VCR, but it has to be a CCTV VCR that can read the mux encoded video. Then to playback connect VCR's video out to the mux VCR in. Mux is just switching each channel very fast. So all this depends if your VCR can even read the encoded mux output. Thats why we used well known muxes back in the day, so the VCRs supported them. otherwise if its just a switcher, connect the switcher monitor out (or spot monitor out) to the monitor. and if its a basic VCR (not time lapse CCTV VCR) then use that on the loop out (video out) part of the monitor - so whatever you see on the monitor is being recorded on the VCR.
-
a switcher is to just view one camera at a time. You need a multiplexer, although that is so 8 years ago. 8 channel DVRs are VERY cheap now.

Most times, it's a cheap hack workaround for a camera that has lousy low-light performance. And an external illuminator will generally be more powerful than any camera with IR built-in. This isn't really a "benefit" of the casing style, it's a simple factor of how many more cheap IR LEDs you can cram into the housing. A stick or a rock can knock a bullet out of position without needing to be in view of the camera or even close to the camera. Even if the camera is still transmitting a clear image, it's still "disabled" if it's looking at the sky or a blank wall or somewhere else that does no good. all I can do is LOL @ all of that nonsense. There really is nothing else to say.

Me too, only I'm headed towards a different destination of MP IP. Best, Christopher I just cant get away from cheap ... most of the people calling me are .. well .. cheap Most are service calls though just to get whats there up and running. Im still trying though ... but for now whatever pays the bills. Making more money just from DVR and other PC related work now.
