    Geo webcam problems

Yeah but sounds like he is having codec or registry issues on his PC .. It wont download it again, if the folder is there and the registry is set. A file could be missing somewhere, what is the Error Jasper, when you visit the web page?? It doesnt use any such directory called "occache". Anyway, run this one, I updated it to delete any existing V7020 or v7040 files and folders, check the "fresh" box to do that. Then when you visit the page it will download and install again. Also make sure your browser activeX settings are set to prompt where it would be disabled. http://www.bahamassecurity.com/geo/GeoFix.zip

    Geo webcam problems

Did it say installed Correctly??? My program? If so, all neccassary files were installed and registered, and are the only ones required to run any of the Geo WebCam versions. Nothing will be in that directory, everything will be in the windows System Directory. Rory

    Geo webcam problems

No, just click on GeoFix.exe, then click on the 2 buttons to install and register. It installs version 7.0 which also works with 7.0.4. If 7.0.4's directory in windows doesnt exist, when you visit the web page, it will redownload the 7.0.4 activeX and install. BTW, MultiCam is not an activeX nor browser based, nothing to do with the Webcam.

    Geo webcam problems

The ActiveX loads, it is first a Check Program, that looks to see if a folder exists in the windows directory, depends on the version of the Site's server software, if it is 7.0, it will be a folder called v7000, if it is 7.0.2, will be v7020, then 7040, etc. If the corresponding folder doesnt exist, it will download the Main Cab, create the folder, extract to that folder, then install and register the files in that folder. If you delete the corresponding folder, it will reinstall the Files when you load the page again. There is also a registry entry for the Audio and Video codec. And there is also a file in the Windows directory called Stable_7000.xml which displays the text messages you will see, such as Connecting .. Invalid Version, Server close, etc. If you delete that file, the software will still work, you will just not see those messages anymore. If you are good with XML you can also edit that file. What is the error you are getting? Rory
  7. Please Post Links to DVR Card Demo's with Multi Site Remote Video software, 30+ channels, Multi site. Also post any screen shots you might have, though I would prefer to demo the software to see what it is like. Only client software though, no browser based, and has to be a DVR, not NVR. Please post specs on the DVR cards if you have them (record speeds and resolutions only), and post the retail pricing as well if you can. It doesnt matter if the DVR does 16 channels max, Im only concerned with the Client Software capability. Remember, 30+ multi view software only please. Thanks Rory

    Secvurity System upgrade

What Steve said, on the mark. I wasnt happy with the Ultraview which uses the Pixum technology, would not buy them again, they were horrible in anything but a ton of light. Especially when the Pano is a day night WD camera and approx the same price as the Ultraview. Also, Pelco cameras arent that great, typically. Pano, GE, Bosch, Sanyo, cant go wrong with them, but for WD id stick with the Pano. And Computar or Fujinon for lenses, Extreme CCTV for Infrared apps.

    CQOne DVR

I just got one of these 4 channel cards the other day to test, so far, Im running it on my Via Chipset 2.0Ghz PC, 512DDR, 128 video. Im running the Home Server Software, so I can minimize in the background, and it works well so far, no lock ups or errors. Only 1 camera conected, but I imagine wont be much different with 2 cameras. I see it as a decent card for a budget system. Local quality is decent, remote video quality is not very good, but i have seen much worse with some cheap stand alones. The server software, looks like an SDK base software, very basic. The server software and browser activeX page, etc, is soo similar to the Eclipse, means whoever wrote the original software for them, had to write this one also, i mean it is way too similar. Eclipse uses Digiflower mostly BTW. Search, havent quite firgured it out 100%, but maybe thats all it does .. Anyway, nice for a budget system, so far so good. Rory

    Kodicom PDA viewer

I would check with your Supplier .. who did you buy it from? Also, it should be on Kodicom's web site if it is a Kodicom product. Rory
  14. same for GE, but we are looking at a more complicated approach here
  15. Nice concept, you need a keyboard that allows programming of Asci commands. You then need to know these commands. Alof ot DVR manufacturers will give those out, the keyboard is another issue. If anyone has links to a keyboard like this, or even an IR remote control, please post away. Perhaps it can be a project of ours and we can work on different DVRs to get something working .. the CCTVForum universal Keyboard & IR Remote I know there ARE keyboards for PCs that have Joysticks on board (as the mouse), like the wireless keyboards I have used, so maybe something in that line will work, once it is programmable? This reminds me of learning Phillips Pronto's from Audio Video IR remotes .. thanks Rory

    Computer to DVR?

Assign the DVR and your PC the same Gateway, same Subnet, and set seperate IPs within the same range, connect the cat5 from your PC to your DVR's network slot, then you can connect to it using the Client Software provided for the DVR, using the IP you set up in the DVR.

    Geovision & Modem Access

they are cheap, id imagine that costs $$, they dont seem to even be interested in watching it remotely .. ohh well They are also just 1 block from the Cable company, yet they have no cable there!!
  18. 1Gb makes a diff over 512, i should know, i only got 512 .. but if its just recording video, and not doing much else, then 512 is fine. however if you are spending the money anyway, spend the extra couple $$ on the extra ram one time, its cheap, especially for you guys over there .. here is a different story.

  21. Well same with MSN Instant Messanging, to really get rid of it requires registry stuff, but once you can just disable it, so it can not be used, then that is fine.
