number one thats incorrect, its going to be 0.01 lux in BW only. number 2, never go by lux specs as they are never going to be correct. if anything go by the CCD Chip used. number 3, toshiba is okay, but wouldnt be my choice when buying a CCTV camera.

You wont find a color camera at 0.01 lux, 0.1 lux max. Yes thats the Speco (provideo) 637, its not exview anymore, just color, 0.5 lux max maybe.

Geo Vision's Center2 software does this. I just tested it for a day from a remote location, and using built in motion detection it sent me video and recorded it to my HDD. I thought you already found a DVR for this application though?

Maybe look at the Provideo 637 bullet, its a high res color mini bullet camera. The quality doesnt match a Box camera, and not even some high res domes, but for the size it is impressive.

8 channel 240fps like the others said. Cards that are Good Quality (and also supported by members who are Dealers/Techs on this forum) and will get you good tech support, once purchased from a legit supplier. These are in no particular order: 1-Geo Vision 2-Video Insight 3-NetPro Max 1 & 2 are the most talked about. I have a client that uses 3 and they are also solid systems. There are a couple others and another 1 in particular that was a very solid stable card and software which I have used, but they are hard to get a hold of, and therefore support cannot be guaranteed. Personally Id use one of the above. Im sure the guys that sell these cards will PM you with more info. Look through all the specs. You cant go wrong either way. Whatever you do, dont buy from Ebay, Amazon, Kmart, or similar. Rory

Acti is better, not sure what the price is on those you mentioned, but ive looked at all and Acti has the better specs, also isnt that expensive.

Where are you located, general location, no street addresses. Where is the camera going to be placed, and have you looked at perhaps using a dome camera instead? A Dome will make it more difficult for people to move the cameras view. Rory

yippie 2 years going strong .. hey, cooperman is still here .. he has some seriously technical expertise on CCTV, cameras, lenses, etc, .. and he's been in the industry for decades

a good eye actually, i'll wait to hear on that also. As for Sony Super HAD its not much different than Sony normal .. so harder to tell, if they claimed Sony Exview then you would know the difference easily, there are ways to check that. I got a bullet from Provideo that claimed Exview, and used to be Exview, but I got a bunch of them that were not, even still said it on the box. Even the ones I got claimed Day Night when clearly Exview Color is not Day Night, though it does switch to a monochrome mode these days, it still stays the same lux and res, and IR cut filter stays on. Anyway, even their tech told me they are not exview anymore, just Super Had which is not low lux like Exview, so I stopped buying Provideo from there on.

Not bad, a good idea, would like to find out the waterproof specs on it though, any data sheets? Cant find it on the link provided. Once it is submergible, can take a real beating, and handle lots of fumes, then it would work good.

Well nope, its not inconspicous as a typical dome is, and doesnt look professional. Their nice toys though, and good for DIYs so they dont have to go inside the camera

you should always be -8 .. im always -5 .. ?? Actually its just your time zone, just depends what they have their zone set to, on what time they see. The server's clock should go back automatically so that will make up the hour.
