it doesnt do anything, you have to click on the video menu and then choose a view or camera from there ..
-
I noticed with the mace browser software, only way to get good multi view quality is to do 4 windows, then set a camera for each one .. otherwise it would be like how the AvTech and Provideo are, where it splits up all the cameras in the one window .. which is not good quality. In other words blowrabbit, if you scroll all the way down the menu video list you will see something that lets you split in 2 or 4 windows ... thats what you want. PS. i though they had Pano's there?

Who has had experience using an H.264 stand alone DVR.
rory replied to kandcorp's topic in Digital Video Recorders
i know i shouldnt ask, but what does mofo stand for ... is it what we think it does? -
If it is the same as their 16 channel DVR with CD that uses a Java Based Browser Software, then forget using it for remote video ... otherwise i havent used the 4 channel.
-
You would need to look at something like the AvTech 4 channel DVR, something in that price range. Then for cameras, well Infrared wont do much if its a bullet so just ignore that part, but if you want color in the day and BW at night, the price goes up, if you can get away with just BW for the low light areas, then you will save some. For the Pond Camera, that will be tough, there are some cheap so called Waterproof cameras, but how long they will last is the question. Extreme CCTV makes a PVC camera designed for underwater, like pools, etc. but its not cheap. Basically $1500 will get you a budget System, any more information on the home lighting outside, where they will be mounted, kind of views you are looking for, what kind of weather do you have there, etc. will help some. realtime motion notification over ip: I give up *help*
rory replied to xl's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You can also just have motion triggered to send images to email or ftp, with Geo and most other DVR cards. -
with one of my clients alarms, we have 2 sirens, and voice driver, its loud as heck, so when any of the 80 wireless window and door transmitters, couple motions, 8 outside beams, or couple glass breaks, are triggered, the siren goes off and sais: short siren noise ... "You have violated a restricted area, the Police Have been called" - twice.. then the siren rings off for a bit, then it repeats it again.

no problem. ... Maybe I should write a program that does it all automatically And i hear your CPU usage is only at 11% now
-
Optex has some good gear, what type of location is it, where are you trying to get the beep from? You can do that with a beam and an alarm if you have an existing alarm, or use one of their anunciators, or, check your DVR software if you have a camera in that location.

its free, they make it ..

VNC is a virtual network client like remote desktop. http://www.realvnc.com/ Rory
-
It supposedly works with Macs through the browser softare, you will need to read the manual within the DMs network client. DM networking info is seperate from the actualy quick start manual, it is in the client software folder after you install the client software. There are a couple on here that can answer better, CSG for one, who use DMs regularily. Rory
-
Should just work, make sure the client PC doesnt have the windows firewall enabled. If you can load VNC on it i can get on and get it running for you. Rory

Ive used both formats with the Iview Card, and also with Geo, and Wavelet comes off on top big time yep, way off topic ..
-
Yep, the warning is, dont install .. unless you already have grey hair
-
yeahhha ha h a .. One thing I really liked about the Iview card, I could set local recording to WaveLet, but I could connect to it in Mpeg4 for faster Remote video.
-
What im saying is MPEG4 doesnt match up to the quality of the others I mentioned, it is lower quality. Great for remote video thats for sure, but Wavelet, MJpeg or Jpeg2000 is much higher quality, less compression and takes up more space though. MPEG4-ASP is being used by ACTI for IP apps and that is not bad, but H.264 is much lower quality from the files I have seen that used it. Tis probably the reason GE security upgraded their codec to a version of the new JPEG2000, instead of using MPEG4. Their main goal has always been high quality video which is required for CCTV, over compression. This is a link on info for GE's WaveJet Compression: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=16383&highlight=wavejet#16383

Well H.264 is not that great quality, nor is MPEG4 while we are on it, it is more compression is all. MJPEG and Wavelet, and JPEg2000 the new one, are much better quality, though id just use the Geo Codec for now as its MPEG4. I heard the H.264 for the new Geo really requires a Hyperthreading CPu as it takes up higher CPU usage. The main upgrade with the new software is the skins for the GUI, the rest is small time things. no, the eyes are still there, from what I heard.
-
Hi, I havent used it but maybe someone else can tune in. I have only customised a GUI for Remote Video which is something totally different. From someone else though, i heard it doesnt really do much and doesnt get rid of the blinking eyes. The New v7.1 not yet released lets you change skins though.

if you are going to go that route, check out www.acti.com for IP/Analogue encoders/ transcoders. Rory

I dont know how they make them, but they must disable them then, cause they have no active IR Cut Filter, as it is not a True Day Night camera. I asked them when or if they would implement an IR cut Filter in their wizKid line anytime soon, but they say they dont plan to, they are investing that time and technology on their Extreme CCTV cameras, in the MX versions.

Here are some shots with us turning the lighting up and down, different levels. Notice at the last couple images, it goes almost pitch dark (we cant see anything in that dark, thats for sure), then the Sanyo changes to BW. The Sanyo also has an external control for the I Cur Filter, which is neat. See specs at bottom. The camera 7 is a simple Provideo BW Bullet camera, the Camera 8 is the Sanyo Day Night Vandal Dome. Shrunk the images down to display here. Surface Mount • 1/4" Color CCD Image Sensor • High Quality Images with DSP Circuitry • 520 TV Lines • IR Cut Filter (with external control) • Two Types of Backlight Compensation • Minimum Required Illumination of 0.04 Lux (B/W Mode), 1.2 Lux (Color Mode) • Built-in 2.8 - 5.8 mm Varifocal Auto-iris Lens (Equivalent to 4.0 - 8.0 mm in 1/3" CCD) • P66 Weatherproofing Standard • 12VDC/24VAC • 3-year Manufacturer Warranty

i do, i blurred out the staff member that is sitting right in front of the OEM camera at the bar looking right at the camera (TV right above it), since he is the night time security there. I have faces on the Sanyo's also, but for security reasons cant show them. That inside bar actually has a lot of Neon Lighting also, so that can make the colors not as real as the outdoor camera, but the Sanyo is definetely 100 times much better than the OEM camera, which I think our Torpedo was talking about. The Sanyo is showing the true colors, especially outdoors where there is much more lighting, and at the indoor bar, as the lighting gets lower, the colors degrade as does the image, then it switches to BW, which is normal. We were turning the club and bar lighting up and down to test it out. Rory

The WZ15ZN doesnt have an IR Cut Filter. Im with you on using seperate IR though, it is always the best.
