Geo makes the cards? Thats news to us I tought crayola corporation designed their software to start with, then i found a taiwanese 10 year old was the culprit .. jkidding ... they got the features, but they could spice it up to a more professional looking level .. seems the new skins in the new beta version might do that, to a point. Question though, anyone know who makes the Geo Keyboard??

a ready made kit would make a lot of money i thinks ... add in the enclosures some ditek protectors .. some clips to secure each cable to the enclosure's back, maybe in rows of 8. Make a Balun version, and a passive & active UTP Hub version .. Make a tall version that has the components for the multi power supply in the top part, and the video in the lower part .. or something like that .. back up batteries, etc. what yall think? Rory

Yeah I noticed the Geo vision ends are pretty small, but alot of other PC DVRs ive used have much larger ones, not all, but a few of them. Do you think we could use the extension, and run it into an eclosure, and somehow make it more secure? See the PC Card thing and the way it is set uo by default is just way to lax it hurts me, they just hang there, Just looking for a better more secure way to do it .. and i think you came up with one ... tanks

What is the VGA extension cable, and how does it fit on the Geo Video Slot? Different size isnt it?

so far the NetProMax software on the 3 PCs i set up for a client, all working cool, 1 of them now for a year, other one a few months, and the lastest one is recent. Definately stable software, less featurers than alot of others, though some good features that it does have makes up the difference. Also dont mean to sound harsh to the Asian software companies so dont take it that way, but Western Developed GUI's generally tend to look more professional than all that I have seen come out of Asia (even though you guys actually make the code for them so you do the real hard work!) -
yes thats similar to what i use, but in white. Much neater than the all in one jacket. The white is neater for retail or places with white ceilings / camera placement locations. Good price for 1000'.

Anyone know how to make a time laspe movie from a GEOVISION?
rory replied to iwatchlive's topic in Geovision
yeah but they wont know where to look for the geo files, and how the geo format is for those folders and files, but you're right, ive got my hands full If it was going to be something that could make some serious cash though.. i'd be right on it .. -
Honestly I would use a normal Dome, no IR, and install the IR seperate, thats the best method. Extreme CCTV has a new version for their IR domes that blocks the glare from the IR found with other IR Domes (including WizKid's IR domes) but they are not cheap. Someone i know has had some okay success with a Hunt High Res day night dome with IR, i havent seen it myself to confirm though. It is pretty inexpensive. Still best to use seperate IR where possible, or even better regular lighting.

RG59 would be the thinest you would want to use, really for interference issues as well as others.

Testing GeoVision Card with No Cameras, Will this Work?
rory replied to Jasper's topic in Security Cameras
it might be ZNS TV quality, thats are 1 local station -
You're in cali, you may want to look at the Vitek DVRs for that price range. http://www.vitekcctv.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductID=181 But no DVD, okay, are you looking at a Stand alone or PC based? Stand alone with DVD, the GE DVMRe-PRO-DVD PC Based you can get something like the Geo and add a DVD drive to it and whatever HDD you want as its just a PC. You can buy ready made or if you are hardware literate you could build your own. Rory

The browser based is pretty okay, multi view better than the default geo web cam, but they need to get rid of that "No Video" icon that keeps popping up as you switch views or click on a camera, other than that, not bad. -
Who has had experience using an H.264 stand alone DVR.
rory replied to kandcorp's topic in Digital Video Recorders
May for internet and remote video, but i would see JPEG2000 or something similar to take over for local recording, as its higher quality and thats what most people buy a DVR for anyway. Once they can seperate the local recording and local video, from the remote video side, then it can work both ways. This is something Iview does by the way, where you can record and view local video in Wavelet for best quality, then stream video in Mpeg4 for faster video.
