  1. Jasper Yah dont need to go through all that dude, just create 2 users, admin and user, user cant switch from full screen or access other parts, or exit the system. They would have to login again with admin to be able to do anything to the system. You set it to always start in full screen so when it does reboot and starts back up it goes right into user mode and full screen. They can see but not touch. Also, you can just use the DSP RCA output to a TV or Monitor, then they wont even need to touch the PC at all, just watch the cameras. Alot of my clients are pretty computer dumb / illeterate so yah know, it works foe me Rory

    Nuvico NVXG-16000N

Loop, if I remember you are in Israel right? If so, wouldnt it be cheaper to buy a similar model from the European side, or even the same unit direct from Asia?

    Not happy with KT&C KC-N600NH

    Sounds cool Howard.
  5. One way is to manually select the AVI files and then make a slide show out of it. Movie type way would be to start a new project in Windows Movie Maker, then import all your clips, and make a WMV file out of them.

    Along came a spider...

yeah we use it on motion detectors down here, when they have problems with spiders .. keeps them off for a while. When handling though must be careful as its posion.

    Along came a spider...

keep the camera as far away from corners or edges, away from areas such as are directly under an eave. Use a Extreme or Derwent UF500, that will fry the spider Baygon, it may not be available in the UK or US though as its some lethal spray, we use it here though, lasts a couple weeks at least. Make the front of the camera as hard as possible to make a web on, sunshields tend to make it easy for them, so get rid of the sun shield. Pray or dance or something ...

    12 hours

well power was off here for a whopping 12 hours from 1am last night ... really makes you appreciate electricity . .. and im talking about something as simple as a fan ... cause it was sooooo hot .. lets not talk about running water also .. we expect this during hurricanes down here, actually worse like a few weeks, but it was clear as day with no rain .. oh well
  16. dem rich ones dem imagine this one, $2700 for a camera to watch your dog I just quote the product that is guarenteed to do the job, without tweaking .. if they can't afford it, then they need to check someone else with more time on their hands
  17. also, www.trangosys.com 5.8ghz would be the best for less chance of interference, but its costly.

    About compatible devices for geovision.

Object tracking i think only works with Sensormatic, which are not the cheap ones. Merit lilin is probably the cheapest, without jimmy rigging a DIY ptz camera. Optex make some really good Outdoor Beams http://www.optexamerica.com/indexes/phelec_index.cfm and: http://www.optexamerica.com/indexes/gen_index.cfm?class=outdoorpir I havent used the alarm side yet, but i think you dont need an alarm system per say, just tie in the alarm trigger to the GV net card - eg, yellow and green from the motion or beam, as they do all the work anyway. Ofcourse will need to power the beams or motions and can use something like the an altronix power supply (the amp size depends on how much total current you will be drawing) with a 12V back up battery, inside an enclosure. Maybe someone else can provide some info on the alarm integration. Rory
  21. For the modulator, if the DVR has 2 Main Monitor outputs, then you can just use the 2nd output, and connect that to the input on the modulator, then you will see what the DVR sees on the programmed video channel - eg. 9 camera view. Or you could use the CCTV Monitor output also. If you need different cameras on different channels, then you will need more than 1 modulator. If you need Multiple multi views on different channels, then you would need quads or multiplexers and more than 1 modulator. You only need the filter if you are going to use channels in the local Cable TV range. You run a coax from the modulator, to where the CableTV is before it splits out to the TVs in the home, there you use the 2 in 1 out splitter (if using 1 modulator) and filter on the output side, if you need it.

need help for making a project

im confused too ... do you want to know how to use one, which product to buy, or do you want to know how to make one?? If the latter, sorry, this isnt an engineering forum, this is a forum for end users and DIY's, distributors, and dealers, for CCTV Products. thanks Rory

    Geovision Gv800 16 in Australia...

GV800 with 16 cameras? I would move up 1 step and get the 900 so you get 240fps. But then thats just me I would also look at the 1480 combo card one time as it has a DSP output for a TV or CCTV Monitor, and its a Real Time card. But the 900 would still be better than the 800, for 16 cameras. For 8 cameras the 800 is fine, just since we are dealing with PC cards may as well get them for what they are made more, speed. Stay away from Ebay, there are soo many Geo dealers on here that can help you. If if is cheap you are looking for, but you still want a solid card, check out the I-view card, it has much less features than Geo, but half the price, solid card software and hardware is stable. I would personally put the cash out on the Geo myself over the Iview though to get the extra features, but its up to you. Rory
