BLC will help see faces as they walk into the area, also should see things like cars or other moving objects on the outside, otherwise whiteout when there is nothing there. depends on the camera though. Maybe put a dome on the opposite side of this camera (looking towards where it is now), and yes the bullet on the actual outside of the building, or at the edge of the overhang.

2 cameras, 1 looking out mounted either partially outside or outside, 1 looking in. That bullet should go somewhere outside and get a couple domes instead.

If you were going to install a 10x camera system for busines
rory replied to johnny916's topic in Security Cameras
As others mentioned, what about installation cost? $750-$1500 labour alone. With the Dahua LE-A 16-ch (eg. QVis Apollo HD 16) or Dahua VGA DVR (eg. QVis Zeus 16) and $50 cameras you might be able to do it if you cut back on the labour a little. Its going to be a very budget installation, they may want to change cameras later. -

Can someone please explain how BALUNS work and how to instal
rory replied to johnny916's topic in Security Cameras
For such short distances just use RG59 Siamese (that is CCTV cable) which is cheap (34 cents a foot in my area) and stop thinking so much about it, spend more time on the rest of the system. Or if for some reason you must run cat5 for video at least run 18 awg for power and make your life easier. You are over thinking such a simple thing, CCTV is not rocket science nor should it take up so much of your time. BTW time as you add the cost of the baluns+shipping the cat5 and RG59 siamese is the same cost. Cat5 has its place but its not for every install especially not a small residential one. -
glad you like it Been a busy week and got alot of other things going on like quotes and service (and flu/dengue), and still have several dahua tools im working on at the same time such as the PSS Skins, PSS Installer (goes together with the skins scripts and EzPSS), DAV to AVI command line converter, Dahua Media Player (will include a conversion from dav to avi using the command line converter), and whats been stressing me out for days and nights, the web based live video in any browser ... see some here that havent been completed or uploaded to my site yet viewtopic.php?f=3&t=27183

I recall seeing EMT at the Hilton but other than that its rare here. Funny thing is though, we have stricter hurricane code than the US, most everything is brick outside and inside. -

Anyone can mount and point a camera plug in a DVR write software too and change toilets and clean pools and .... but do they? Why spend a week in someones yard inhaling glue getting heat and sun stroke getting bitten to pieces by viral mosquitoes for little pay ... when one can just hire a team of labourers to do that in a couple hours - eg the electrician Also you are forgetting a drill and drill bits large enough to make a hole the size of the fat conduit, trenching up their landscaping, burying the conduit, possibly cutting across cement path or asphalt, and then some .... -

hire an electrician. You need PVC glue and a torch to bend them. -

its cheap but not that cheap. $10 a strip, labour to trench yard, join and bend the conduit etc .. all adds up. -
Except get a weatherproof one if its going outside. Local electrical store would have them.

Water, heat, rats, etc. Will it work without conduit outside? Sure maybe for years. Is it recommended? No. -

Here we cant as most interior walls are brick So wire mold becomes your best friend. -
Yep they have TDN. But have to remember, alot of things factor into the quality we are seeing, the compression and evidence sharing of the DVR, and even the focusing of the camera and settings of other features. I used 13 CNB Box cameras side by side with several year old Samsung Box cameras, and the Samsungs blew the CNBs away literally. And 2 of the CNBs were the CNBs best WDR, in fact the monalisa box cameras turned out to be better with backlighting than the WDRs. BUT, every camera is different, and these are just small board cameras in bullet housings, with cheap Microvarifocal lenses.

SSDR is just a basic dynamic range, this is an example of their true WDR cameras: http://www.samsungcctvusa.com/products/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=285

CCTV cameras are discontinued every other day so that wont really work. Also one camera might work stellar for a couple persons but if the camera is not put through a rigorous test instead of just installed at a couple locations, it will likely fail for others and the forum can't take that responsibility. Plus then there is the advertising side of it that could run us into problems.
-
suggesting stores in any form is frowned upon as the advertisers pay for the forum to exist, so its best to keep any suggestions like that for PMs and emails. Also if it has a .com etc in the name then its still treated as a link.
-
guys please keep the store recommendations to PM ... thanks.

but with megapixel you can zoom in on their bald spot and ID them from that. nice crisp shots of the cars though
