Problem with Geovision remote access, almost works but...

Ok you need, 8888, 4550, and 5550, for the web cam. Rory -
Yes you can use High, Medium, or Low. 720x484 is the high recording. I know, have used them for 5 years, and the quality (and features) blows away all others I have used, they are worth every penny. They are switching from Wavelet to Mpeg4 now, and already have some units out with their own WaveJet compression.

GE DVRs do 720x480 recording and display. And yes, I have a ton of info on all compression methods, thanks.

PM me the IP, Demo user and pass and ill test it on my custom software, works alot better on ones that have issues with the browser software .. then at least i can tell yah whats up.. -
Yeah we all know Sony is good, but thats them .. Maybe he was talking about a Sony BW cam with External IR .. dunno hey bill got any pictures and specs of your cams?
-
Any brand name DVR will be 720x480 or similar, only the cheap DVRs play the CIF and D1 games. Anyway, check out HikVision, they have H.264 Stand Alones. Most of the real decent stand alones are still using Wavelet or MJpeg and now branching into Mpeg4 .. a little behind the PC based but still solid units. Also, dont you mean MPEG4 ASP?

Dude, i am, and I thought he was, talking about OEM IR cameras that use Sony Chips, not sony cameras.
-
Ha ha, i just threw away 3 OEM Sony cams with IRs, 3 levels of IR, all sony chips, but ofcourse as we all know (we do dont we) sony doesnt make any of these cameras. anyway they ranged from 20 leds to like 100 on the biggest one. Client got them by mistake. Worst color image ever .. and IR was a waste of time. The only brand I rely on for IR is Extreme CCTV gear.

I have to click on MEMBERLIST then I can click on the forum index link ... whaz up? Rory

The power board on the camera can do that when it gets hit .. or just goes bad. Normally happens on cheaper cameras.

Yep, Im going to take the client a couple options, then they can decide. I too would prefer they use 2 seperate monitors, as like you said 32 cameras on 1 screen will be small. I was just told from the contractor what they wanted. But now im simply going to go and sit down with the actual owner and explain it all to him. He's only going to get 3 options, with approx pricing, and its all preliminary just to see what they really want, as they have changed their minds, or the manager has, over the past couple months, too many times. And we have yet to meet the owner which I made a point that we must do, on Monday, no more manager meetings, 3 Options will be Wired, Wired and Fixed Wireless, and all IP with wireless network. Pros and cons of all with images and specs will be presented, and they can decide which to go further with. In all honesty the 1st and 3rd options would be the easiest for me .. I was looking at Milestone for the IP option as they support Acti 2100 servers, and also do 16 or 32 cameras as an option. Other option would be to use 2 servers and use the Acti 16 channel software. Here's a question you could probably answer, as I dont have any IP cameras to fully test either, which is better for 16 cameras, the Acti or the MileStone software? By now this thread is already in the wrong section of the forum ... sorry my bad Thanks Rory

Thanks, I got email from Mike, straight away. Yep I hear you about axis, I emailed them a few weeks ago and still nothing. Anyway Acti gear looks better now, so Im going to stick with that. Also, Trango got back to me straight away and spent an hour on the phone with them yesterday, for the wireless side.

I have some GE and Kalatel Exview cameras in the field, never lost a pixel

darn, they are all working again normally now, as of tonight .. thanks guys

perhaps a TB is too much Maybe i could do some kind of file sharing, so it uses a share folder on the members own PC .. I'll have to get out of the windows programming mode though first, and then get back into the scripting mode ..
-
and an interesting product from Webgate by the way .. http://www.webgateinc.com/wgi_htdocs/eng/product/view.php?id=wgi_eng&no=7 Only Issue I see with their video server products is they use WaveLet .. acti has them beat hands down in the video server side .. another thing is their video servers seem to be all over google ..

how yall like my photo gallery .. I need to finish the script and get an upload member button for CCTVforum members so yall can add your images, it's been idle since the beginning of this year .. Its file object based application, which turns it all into static names .. great for search engines. Was actually my test area for a Real Estate photo gallery ..

If it has no settings, like iris settings, then you're out of luck. Also though, make sure any additional cameras are turned off that dont exist. Make sure the glass cover is clean. Thats about it besideds adjusting it differently, maybe up a little more, or lower the actual camera and try adjusting when the sun is out in full. My cheap color bullet also cant handle the light very well, when the sun is out in full at certain times of the day. Without lowering the iris, which will also lower night time viewing, there isnt much you can do. If the DVR has any AGC setting try that. Rory

i gots 1.0 .. maybe thats why ... just started though last week.

ok lets forget the wireless for right now, i have a local wireless network company that can handle that. Lets talk about a NVR with RAID, for a single LCD screen 32 camera view (or 36 whichever evens out), and this on the server not using client software as dont want to claim anymore bandwidth. They definatelty want to see all 32 cameras on one screen view though thats the main thing. I see milestone software does that, but I need a ready made system. also will have to work with encoders and video servers from acti for example,. I use them as they do MPEG4 while others are doing MPEG2 ... thanks Rory

thanks, I sent them an email. Rory

Not recently. I need a windows Server software than can handle 14 analogue cameras, and 18 cameras from IP servers, real time. but also an option for not reeal time. Ive figured out the real time, using video servers and transcoders, for each camera, but thats pricey so I have to give them another option. All cameras are Extreme CCTV cameras. has to provideo 30 camera view from the server (not the client) so the user can use 1 large LCD. the main thing is i need something ready to go, and ASAP .. Rory
