data took a look and the image is good with the lights on at night, in color mode. Did you do the focus thing in low light like I mentioned to really be able to tell if the night image is good or not? I thought it might just need focusing in dim lighting like evening, cloud, or with a filter. anywayz, whats your price on them .. let me know

Well Metz will know better than me regarding GE ... though regarding the GE DVRs, I can buy the power PC board & CPU myself, buy the Nucleus RTOS Licence, add some BNC and HDDs to it, program the nucleous OS and have as much right to call it built in the Bahamas as GEO has to say they are made in Taiwan, since their cards are made in ***** http://www.xilinx.com/publications/xcellonline/xcell_50/xc_mentor50.htm http://www.acceleratedtechnology.com/embedded/nucleus.html As for your GEO systems, what exactly did you do besides put together a PC and load the GEO software? I mean was there any real programming involved?

Anyway for those looking for hurricane related videos, NOT the stuff going on in NO right now, here are a couple sites: http://www.stormchaservideo.com/Hur...trina/index.htm http://www.youtube.com/results.php?search=Katrina http://www.weathervine.com/ and this is a data center in NO up and running: http://www.directnic.com/katrina.php http://sigmund.biz/kat20050901%20part%202/ blog from inside NO... http://mgno.com/

after they get everyone out, all of them, they should drop one of those bombs that engulf the place, poor some landfill over it, make it high, then .... build again ..
-
their DVRs are put together and programmed in the US, their cameras are made in Taiwan.

Also cat5 baluns are going to be much easier to handle for a non professional, as opposed to dealing with BNC connectors. Levon has a point

The Multi Ouput power supply comes with a Plug, you normally have to manually screw the wires into the power supply, but the plug can just go in any socket.

actually my AC stopped working before summer started, and I havent had running water in months ;-( .. Have to shower from a hose from the neighbors house, and that water is brown and full of bacteria ... just FYI. Course I do live in the 3rd world ...
-
you got me, why they havent at least dropped food and water in, etc ..i dont get it .. they could easily have set something up at that convension center by now ... course they are shooting at the people trying to rescue them so ... Honestly i wouldnt personally have waited around this long if it was me, one for all and all for one. One thing I noticed in the US is that alot of people expect the government to help them .. at least in the ghetto areas. There is so much oportunity in the US if one is willing to learn and work hard. AS for being too poor to leave, been there done that, always can find a few cents and pennies lying around to pay for enough gas to get out of dodge! If they were such christians as they promote in the ghettos, the churches should have organised buses to get their people out, after all they pay them their entire salaries

There is no need for crimp for a home, in fact I only use twist on for businesses too, and never ever had a problem. Just have to know how to do twist on properly or it will not hold, and same goes for crimp on, seen both types come off with ease. There is already a thread on this please post your ideas over there. If you want to waste some extra money and time though you can try the crimp way.

Punch holes in this please
rory replied to woodyads's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
How did I get dragged into this?? But while im here, its not CCTV once it is a networked video system. Im doing an airport system and the thought never occurred to go wireless network, that is because I know how to do it the REAL way. -
All i knows is Bosch is not "it" in the camera world, but it is "it" if thats the only decent non OEM camera someone has ever used

No if you read the story it had nothing to do with snitching, in fact she didnt even know any of them, she was grabbed outside a night club she was visiting with here friend and when she turned down a pimp, thats when he had his friends beat her up ...

alot more than a bullet camera actiually the EX80 is not worth it, unless you are shooting the camera towards smeone's window and dont want to glare them with IR. The EX82 is more suitable for 100' IR, and the ZX55 for even more IR. Though Even the EX82 is really designed for 6mm-8mm, so if you need to flood an area (4mm or less) it is sometimes best to get one of their MX version of cameras and add a UF100 or a UF500. However with a EX82 if you position it correctly you can also flood the area with IR, somewhat, but it means having surrounding bush or walls to reflect the IR, as well as installing the entire camera at a fairly low height such as 7-8'. Ive been able to come out with more than 100' of IR and somewhat flooded IR, with the EX82, but it has meant proper installation and then positioning in pitch dark conditions.

There was some software I used a couple years back, lets you set up a PC then create an EXE from it ... anyone know the name of this please? Not Nortons Ghost please, this was easier Thing it began with the letter "A". Also it would let you do network setups etc.

Just use twisted. Either way you will need to play with them first to get the hang of doing them properly.

all you have to do is watch CNN and MSNBC .. course i been watching them 24/7 from sunday ... wish I could do something but got my own issues to deal with right now ... but yep .. there's already another thread on this ..

4 Extreme CCTV EX80's (50-80' IR Dual Camera Day Night) 1 Extreme CCTV EX82 (100-155' IR Dual Camera Day Night) GeoVision 8 Channel 120/120 with DSP Card, Plasma, LCD PC with KVM, and 20" CCTV Monitor. FYI - the Infrared LEDs get brighter as the area gets darker, so with alot of artificial lighting, they will not be 100% power, hence in some images IR does not show up due to the amount of other lighting. IR and Day Night level pots allow full adjustments for more or less IR, and also level of light for it to cut in and out from color to BW camera, with no delay (it is instant switchover). A hardware photocell controls the day night switching. Built in fan keeps the cameras and IRs cool. Built in Voltage Regulation Board protects the cameras. Iris level pots are included for control of the Auto Iris level for both cameras. EX80 - http://www.extremecctv.com/products/index.cfm?img=102 EX82 - http://www.extremecctv.com/products/index.cfm?img=2 both come in black by default.

Sal, thanks, also thanks for the coupon

You need something in the Extreme Line of Cameras: www.extremecctv.com - the EX82 is a Dual Day Night Camera with IR out to 100'+, or you can use a True Day Night camera with IR sensitivity, and add some IRs like the UF100, or even better the UF500 which will flood the area. This is the EX82, notice how the Trees in the back ground of the 2 black cars can be seen, with the IR turned off, you cant see them at all, nor not much out there in the front yard as those little lights are just green decorative bulbs. http://www.bahamassecurity.com/tmp/ex82Nghteg.avi Full post here. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2640
