the initial features they listed on the main page for VI (up to converting file formats) is what i use in PSP. . i guess they take it to the next level in 3D or something? whoops my bad its video editing ..

well frames and fields are different, goes back to old school stuff. Pictures per second is same as images per second. eg, a picture = a image .. i would imagine a frame = a image also ... field .. dont know about that.

You would need to buy from a distributor as they only sell in huge quantities direct. -

gotta wait until they catch him, then ill send it over .. and people, please clean your cameras regularly, it does help when editing the video footage to give to law enforcement .. BTW, its GE gear, well Kalatel as its 5 years old, downloaded the 200MB video files over the internet with WaveReader, then used SPlitWave to break up only the cameras I need, and edited some images from there, so they can put the photo up at the club's front door - SEEN THIS GUY - GET HIM!! he busted ALL THE rED bULL UP THE ODER NIGHT ...

i cought a tief and vandal on camera, just cant post it for legal reasons as t hey havent got him yet ... he raided a night club outdoor bars 5am last night, pulled down the wires off the bullet cameras but the cameras got him before he did that, i mean he did a whole bunch of stuff in front of the cameras .. see his face plain as day as he looks right up at the camera and then realises he is on camera, he gets pissed and grabs the wires ... anyway ... the security indoors idnt realise until after this and ran out and fired off some shots at him ...

the Active Tek unit has a ton of features for a low-mid end DVR system, worth every penny. It is sold across the US under various names. Ask fred about it, he has been selling them for a while now on the cali side. Not a major brand DVR nor really high end, but a better than great entry level unit. I used the remote software and its easy to use and has administration configuration of the DVR also. Rory

rory replied to antdickens's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
the one i had was doing it to start with but not anymore, i disable video loss beep if that means anything ... yes we have to fix the problem but still -
Sure would, but Bosch Doesnt make the cameras I use

The Hubs do all the work, the modules are just passive, the NVT hubs have interference rejection, ground loop protection, transient protection, and the active hubs are amplified, with equaliser. Course they cost an arm and a leg, but do work, for twisted pair that is.

How big of hard drives do you normally provide?
rory replied to jisaac's topic in Digital Video Recorders
these are office buildings open 8-6pm average .. mon - fri. Trust me no PC DVR or other stand alone has yet to match up the the time i get from motion recording on the GE DVRs ... they really are great in that area ... ofcourse they cost it too .. we import all our chickens from america -
When using analog you are stuck with the same quality of the VCR, which is normally i think 280-350 and maybe 400TVL with a SVHS. You can buy a DVR single channel VCR replacement for only a couple $$ more than the average time lapse VCR, check out the GE VDR. Course depending on how many cameras you have, buying a 4 channel DVR even is not that much more expensive, just depends on the brand you buy. A first suggestion would be some Burglar Alarm Yard beams such as the Optex beams - http://www.optexamerica.com/indexes/phelec_index.cfm Rory

ok .. equaliser? only for coax right? Ofcourse you can buy the GE and Extreme cameras with NVT modules built it, then just add your receiver end ..
-
wish i had the $$ to do that .. this past monday was (yet another) a holiday and killed the whole work week

help on DRV card software/wireless camera
rory replied to azmp1's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Sounds like you may a transmission issue anyway, like is the ceiling between the 2 floors concrete, wood? Is there anything between the receiver and the cameras, like AC ducts, fridges, etc? Wireless can always give you issues, or at least alot of fun setting it up. Check out http://www.videocommtech.com/ for professional wireless gear. Otherwise also look at running wire for some hard wired cameras if you can. for the dvr info, check this thread: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2021 Also, scott is right, there is alot of junk on ebay, with CCTV you get what you pay for .. There is also alot of dealers on here that can get you some decent gear for a good price, there is something for every budget. Where are you located, approx. rory -
it has a n amp built in is all.
-
so basically it is a PC card system... real time in 720x480 over 16 channels?
-
Dont see how it is possible, even with coax, at that distance without using an amplifier, not to get video "quality" loss, just isnt possible. Even NVT will admit there is video quality loss with passive at 3000', in fact, they admit it is similar loss as coax at any distance, and we all know coax looses quality as low as 100'..
