If you can, run conduit, if not, try some moulding, and use some weather gang boxes and join them in there, caulk up any exposed holes like where the wire comes into it, if using conduit just join that right into it. As for wire, 80'. RG59 Siamese, or if exposed totally, some RG6 but make sure it is copper and a solid center, and not the cable TV aluminum braid.

Anybody know about the Itellicam Day Night cams??

Darn cable goes off for 4 days and all hell breaks loose ... -
Although I would admit the price is okay, the best stand alone DVR on the market is still GE (Kalatel). Oh yeah, I never said it was a HiSharp, I said it uses the HiSharp software, whether the software is theirs or not, its the same thing, almost all low end DVRs use the same software. Personally I believe in quality over quantity.

Hmmm, inkegami makes cameras, that web site does not.

Thats correct, same problem you will find with domes that have built in IR. WizKId is coming out with a dome that has the IR in a seperate part of the dome, should be neat, not ugly like the Provideo version of that .. thats why the IR products I sell are only always seperate from the camera, or in a seperate window from the camera window. Any regular housing would work. We have used the Smaller Pelco Vandal Housings in the past, as you dont need the regular sized ones.
-
Dont know about them, but that dome is the same as the Provideo .. ))
-
If its weather resistant, why would you need an enclosure? Otherwise you can purchase a vandal dome one time ... just as cheap ..

Some can stream audio as well as video, alot of them will record audio locally, and mostly the PC Based DVRs have more audio capability than a stand alone, such as more channels and streaming audio. The one i was talking about we didnt get online yet and have to take some speakers down tomorrrow ... but ill let you know about the stream once its online ... its a Geovision .. ill try to get my Iview one here also streaming, just need to get the sound card driver working and plug TV audio into it .. What about a 2 channel or even 4 channel DVR card, then stream them all, or you need to keep them seperate?
-
I thought you wanted to put the video out on a CCTV Monitor or something that accepted BNC? Or is it you want to capture the video? If so, what will you then do with that?

VDR is from GE Security. .. http://www.geindustrial.com/cwc/products/ge-interlogix?pnlid=9&famid=63&catid=1088&id=VDR&lang=en_US Mux is any Multiplexer ... im showing GE as they are great muxes ... but others work with the VDR also .. http://www.geindustrial.com/ge-interlogix/kalatel/prd_multiplexer.html Rory PS. I heard it was in the 100's in arizona these days ... just when i though 98 degrees was hot!!

check out the VDR ... same price as a VCR .. same idea, just HDD instead, no LAN though. Use any Mux. for a cheap 4 channel DVR with lan (that doesnt crash), even cheaper than a VCR or VDR, check out Powertellecom's R4000. Rory
-
Being that at this point in time you can buy a DVR for the same cost of a VCR ... there is no way i could sleep at night if i recommended a VCR .. If its that you have a mux and just want recording .. GE has the VDR which is the same price of a decent VCR, and works the same, but it is digital and records to a HDD. Otherwise, budget 4 channel DVRs have more features than a VCR, and are the same price or less than them, and come with LAN. Rory
