Well to start with that XT dome is not designed the shape of a wall mounted dome. Example on non wall mountable domes would be Sanyo, Panasonic, etc. Wall Mountable Domes would be GE, Nuvico, and WizKid. In other words you dont want something that "sticks" out or stands out, we are using these are truck weigh stations, gate entries, etc. And they HAVE to look good, which I mean you have to admit, that Xt dome has gotta be the ugliest dome ive seen yet .. Maybe, but the WizKid domes are designed specifically for that. Not to mention the unsurpassed tech support i get down here, from extreme up in Canada .. besides my new DVR supplier, I have never seen any other company with the support they give ..

Which new boards ... the combo boards? They dont have hardware compression from what I read and was told. Only one with Hardware compression is the hybrid 4 channel card. Now the Combo boards do have the DSP output but thats not to the PC monitor, just a tV or CCTV monitor, which is great, Im using it and its very clear, but has nothing to do with what resolution you select in the Geo Video Settings, and it doesnt allow you any control of that image besides when you set it up manually. Not sure if the Geo Keypad controls it or not. they may have changed that in the newer 7.1 software coming out. Rory

Yeah Ive seen that but I can cant wall mount it directly on the wall. Thats why I sell strictly Extreme & WizKid now .. a dome for any application All Extreme and WizKId Domes have built in voltage regulators also .. which is basically what we need down here ...

the difference of 640x480 to 720x480 with geovision is really little difference, i have mine set to 720x480 and have tried it back and forth both ways, played back video over and over, but it really isnt that noticeable. The geo arent hardware compression by the way. Rory

Im not sure of that card, but 720x480 is not difference from 640x480 generally, not to be worth an upgrade to a whole new system. If anything you may want to upgrade to a different card for more features and technology. Rory

Just ask the UPS manufacturer how many PCs you can hook up to it at one time .. Buy 1 and test it out with the max amount of PCs that they suggest, turn power on and off, similate power cuts, etc. see total amount of back up time to find your best.

Yes thats termination, when it turns whitish. Like i said, probably a mux issue. Maybe get a loaner from someone to try it first to make sure thats what it is. Take a look at the GE Kalatel CBR-16CS, its simplex, you dont need Triplex or Duplex ($400+ more) as you are only using it for the monitor view, not recording. Or even the Provideo RMX-9CD 9 channel Color Mux, ive used this for display like i said in a post above, not as good as the Ge though. Rory
