Network encoders - startdot, axis, vivotek, etc
rory replied to bike_rider's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
What about setting up a webpage on a PC with the playback control (eg. single player) or shortcut to the DVR IP .. then use Teamviewer for android to connect and open that webpage and play that way? http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/mobile.aspx -
No because it wants a webcam.

Network encoders - startdot, axis, vivotek, etc

Id also be interested in a mini IP encoder, single channel, like a balun, for about $50 each ... any ideas? -
its only happening to the Monalisas out of 40 odd cameras from several sites, so most definitely they are the issue, regardless of what PSS does to the image. I will connect in my custom app and try them, see how it goes resized down.

They are all different, some are powered together, some are individual, some are 12vdc and some are 24vac, some conduit some not, picture is fine otherwise.

The others range from cheap costo type cameras (installed by others) and cheap Color IR to Bosch Day night, basically most if not all are probably Sony chips.

One in the gulf with 60mph winds looking like it might hit Mexico/Texas (Nate), another one still in the Atlantic with 40mph winds dead on target for the West Indies again (Maria). http://icons-ak.wunderground.com/data/images/at201114_5day.gif Looks like Nate might be the bigger one, projected for 80mph winds, Maria is projected for 70mph winds. But anything could change.

IR test - $5 ebay, Bosch EX12, Raytec RM100-50, MIR1000 etc
rory replied to mike_va's topic in Security Cameras
Bosch literally destroyed the company they purchased, they got rid of some of the best products and replaced them with what could only be called junk next to those that came before - the only thing I will give them is the IR is better now on the cameras with built in IR. For example, Extreme/Derwent spent a good part of decade promoting dual day night cameras, and they were spot on correct that it is better than a single day night camera - Bosch has since been discontinuing them for a single day night camera, which going by the camera itself does not match the dual performance - a single camera never will. But yes Extreme was overpriced as well, and had quality control issues over the years. Their original cameras from 10 years ago were the best, most still work today. -
Yeah but its only happening to the CNB cameras.

I used to be into hip hop back in my youth, that was a long time ago LOL. Now its all rock. I guess reality eventually kicked in. But the rappers that responded to him sound 10 times better and they are not even well known, most of them are in the army.
-
No, why are they???? LOL no ... but I have a quote right now and they would be looking at them like this, many smaller windows, and its useless if this is how they will be. Luckily I caught it before they ordered, but now I need to change the quote and find a dome that doesnt do this. Or maybe I will go with the Samsung TDN Bullet which is around $200 (no IR).

The words aside, thats the worse rap song I heard in years, this guy is actually getting paid?

A new problem i noticed with the monalisa cameras this is the VCM-24VF, VBM-24VF, and DFL-20s In the case of the DFL there are no settings to adjust. I will leave this image up for a short time but then have to remove it. Notice all the cameras inside the red line, those are the CNBs. Any ideas why they are distorting when resized smaller and not the others? Notice particularly the DFL-20s to the right of the door camera, that "V" is supposed to be straight lines.
-
Problem is thats 1/4" Also I dont see that on their website so its probably discontinued or left over from the old samsung GVI. Samsung's equivalent to the CNB is either of these: http://www.samsungcctvusa.com/products/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=331 http://www.samsungcctvusa.com/products/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=282 It costs alot more though.

Dome Camera Exterior Stucco (Cinder Block) Mount
rory replied to MikeInTampa's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Most fixed domes in the years gone by were limited to just up and down and very limited left to right, I've used many domes that left me cussing because they could not be properly adjusted when wall mounted - you literally had to mount it in the direction you wanted to view, so ceiling mount was the most used option and even then it can be a PITA, still deal with many of them in the field today. Only in very recent years have most new domes been coming with 3-axis gimbles. -

Dome Camera Exterior Stucco (Cinder Block) Mount
rory replied to MikeInTampa's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You can mount it anywhere it will fit. But the viewing angle depends on the camera model. Most have a 3-axis adjustment so that would work fine. Check the specs on the camera first. I normally also caulk around where the dome meets the wall, incase the wall is not 100% flat so water does not come in the rear of it. I dont understand the part about the metal dome? The camera needs to be enclosed or it will get wet and die. Example of 2 domes mounted on wall -
Got audio at a location from 1 mic, audio on this DVR goes through the PC Mic input, and the PC DVR software is supposed to broadcast it out for the remote client. The DVR is a netpromax, for some reason the audio will not stream anymore. I think it had something to do with using their new software and that it had to use a connection through their server or something, dont recall exactly - anyway that DVR company is no more so ... Any ideas for getting the mic input to stream out using a small program .. need something that runs all the time ... and a small remote client just for the audio. I was thinking something like Skype but then cant see a way for that to work.

using CATV splitter for multiple TV view
rory replied to FIERCE4203's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I did the BNC split out to TVs recently and it was a horrible image on the AV Input, not to mention ground loops, but the blur was the worst. Not like what it used to be, seems certain LCD TVs just suck at that now. Client bought some Geffen VGA over cat5 and will hook that up in the next few days. Its a 1x8 distribution and they bought 3 receivers. Not cheap so lets hope it works good http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=3256
