    finally

They dont have ADSL here, at least not for under $490 and month, Cable is the way to go down here. We are fully in control of the system via VPN and cable.
  3. Click on the Link I provided, and click on his PM (the button that sais PM). This will allow you to instant message him, from there you can provide your information or message regarding access to the Dealer forum. He will require some basic info to make sure you are a business so he can give you access to the dealer forum. There isnt much going on in there, but its a great place for fellow dealers, integrators, and installers to share or recieve hard to find CCTV dealer type info and pricing. Rory

    Lighting

    something like this http://www.bahamassecurity.com/gallery/
  6. Like VST said, use 24VAC if you are running the power over UTP also. Id suggest UTP multipair, being that you can run a multi pair UTP cable and add more cameras later on. You get less distance with UTP is all. Using NVT Active Hubs and TXs you get approx 1.5 miles with active on both ends using Cat5, 1 Mile with UTP with active on both ends, or 3000' using Active then Passive on each end. http://www.nvt.com/products/NV_1662R.html The Hubs have Ground Lifting, Equalising, and Transient Protection built in. Protects againt Ground Loops and Interference. Only going by specs, but I have seen them in action and they were very crisp with PTZ cameras at very long distances. Im specing a 30 camera job now using their products. Simple thing is, you can add more cameras later once you run a multi pair cable. Ive used a couple passive OEM baluns and they were a waste of time . .. Rory

    AVC773

I have used the 16 channel AvTech, not this one. But, using Motion Detection recording and overwrite it will not give you this message. Without overwrite in any record mode, you will always get this message. What exactly are you looking to achieve?? Rory

    New Nuvico DVR

They sent me to a puarto rico company (whereever that is) to buy the products, i gave up. Could claim to be the best DVR and cameras in the world, but without some demos, and some easy sales avenues, its totally useless. I can buy GE or Hunt anywhere, from any distributor in the US, including miami, and they actually email you right back.... so why waste my time ... I can by ActiveTek right from the manufacturer, and also Powertellecom, and I am buying Extreme & WizKid now direct also, and their product & support is the bestest .. Now there's a company that wants to sell their products. Im selling ONLY Extreme & WizKid Domes now ... just dont have the time to waste on the others ... shipping is no fun yah know shipping to da tird wurld... gotta have a great source.

okay found it quick, here yah go - not for the light of heart: http://www.419eater.com/ http://www.mikeindustries.com/blog/archive/2005/01/playing-along-with-email-scams Mind you, I wouldnt put Canada of the list, as some regions are well known for permitted illegal activity, especially if it is against the US. And yes, the Bahamas has defeinately had its scams also, including other more well know dealings with drugs (still do), copyright infractions, money laundering, etc, tthough the funny thing is the majority of the people doing this down here (except for drugs), are from canada!! Im serious also, I have installed soo many alarms in their kingdoms down here, heck the Cable TV & Internet Monopoly Company is candadian owned ..!!! Down here, its so well known now, if you are living in the bahamas and are a canadian, you are most likely doing something illegal .. for years we survived off canadian companies that supplied us with illegal sat programming (well not me or you directly but obviously a lot of guys there and here) Americans arent off the list either, but its more like 99% CA over 1% US doing illegal stuff and living down here to get away from it .. so they think anyway ...

its called php forums = spam these days as they are the most widely used ones now, due to the fact that the servers are cheaper (linux), beginners are learning php, and they are normally open source scripts. Mind you, spammers are attacking ALL web based apps these days, anywhere they can sign up and leave a message or a link, it is succeptable. I took my email off just for the same reason, started getting spam. Thing is, this forum is not high ranked in google, but they are still finding it .. Arghh .. Once its a popular web app they WILL find a way around it ..

looks like they even using City names now to look legite!! the latest is a bot from Seattle, WA ..
  17. looks like you have to drill some holes to make that thing work!! LOL
  18. Need to talk to Scott and Sam Na about that, they are doing the software in the US I can sell you some bahamian software if you really want something not made in taiwan, cant promise it will do any more than show you a still of a palm tree though .. hey its better than a clock or a fake fish tank though right ! Heck I can give you it for free with a rotating video clip of my ceiling fan
  19. PowerTellecom is supposed to have one coming out soon, but im talking about something that works with a multi site software such as the GEO C2 that scott is talking about. Im surprised something like this isnt already out there, besides only march networks .. i mean it would work hand in hand with the alarm industry, easy to install, and profit earning for everyone, installer and manufacturer, and CMS. But when you are dealin with $150 alarm systems, gotta keep the cost down ...i mean we have tons of ghetto homes here, that if it was loiw enough, would pay for it, but yah got 20 people living in a small 1 bedroom home, cant spend the march prices.
  20. Theoretically, using a deep enough enclosure, should be able to build a PC inside a box such as an Ademco Alarm panel, but would need a deeper box like those from some of the home wiring manufacturers ... any ideas or anyone done that before?
  21. Wats that in US$, or Bahamian $
  22. i take it that it was not as budget as they claim hey ?
  23. One of the main clients that is looking for this needs something offsite. They have been robbed before by *very* smart criminals. A lock-box wouldn't stop them. The first time they were robbed the criminals cut the phone and power to the building, smashed the cameras and followed the wire to the system and then took the whole system. darn, they smart up there hey! only other way would be a web site with a large FTP, then ftp still images on motion detection ... even the cheap AvTech 16 channel has this option.
