  1. its gotta be a joke, lime green , doesnt look like real software ... and then you read all the BS on the web page ....
  2. which POS system is it? POS is basic stuff, also the installers ive come across (including dealt with in the US over the phone) are not exactly pros when it comes to routers.
  3. just tell the owner you need access to the routers or you cannot guarantee remote video will work properly.

  5. Sorry, not many Anykeeper users on here. not right now anyway. You could try a search for ANYKEEPER, then see what else is being talked about the cards, or PM someone if they seem to know something about the cards. You should also check with the company you bought them from, if they cant provide support let us know what their name is so we all know who not to buy from, thanks. Rory
  6. you need to get a keyboard for local, only use the network control for remote internet control.
  7. ok thanks...will do rory
  8. Whats the ATVs like these days? Do you have a direct link to the software to take a look at, the network soft I mean? Also, ive noticed MPEG4 is a much lower quality than Wavelet, how does H.263 compare to that? Rory
  9. Fred, problem solved on my end ... ive decided to only sell 1 brand of cameras, ExtremeCCTV ... forget the rest, go with the best .. WizKid is part of the Extreme Company. Basically unsurpassed Technical and Sales Support. Im speciallizing in High End and Vandal Proof apps now, Ill leave the Low End to the plumbers and PC stores down here that all install eclipse or WebCams and make no real living off CCTV ... This way those guys will sub us on the large jobs that they cant handle ... DVRs - PT R4000 and R16000, ActiveTek 4ch, Webgate 8 & 16ch, and GE 4,10 & 16 ch (or other high end stand alone). Also 16 ch 480/480 PC DVR for special apps. Now remember, things are totally different down here though from the US ... this is the best thing I can do to make a living in CCTV down here, specialise.

    Recommend a small wireless camera?

Wireless IP, or Point to Point Wireless Video? Are you getting compression issues with quality, over the IP network? We were going to go with VideoComm real time wireless video, high quality, but managed to talk the clientinto using wired from camera to camera, and then a DVR in each main remote location, then using Multi Site Remote Software for the DVR at the monitoring side. Just cheaper than multiple large towers for the wireless to shoot over the trees and hills. A tower here costs around $10 landed and installed, gotta be a strong tower for the hurricane season. I see an advantage in areas where you already have Wireless towers installed (but then you could use Video Comm or Trango gear) or for cheaper, if wireless internet is already installed .. here that is not an option as we dont have any .. Cable is in the Area so we will just use Cable Internet. The one wireless IP system I saw here, done by a company from CT, USA, was terrible, well, it was normal low compression like you see on cameras over the internet. They did have some custom software though as well(very basic limited software), which didnt help, it had VB errors striaght through, with barely any options . .. at least they could have used something like LuxRiot or something else that is good .. obviously the client paid an arm and a leg for something that cost the seller, next to nothing ... i know ive never heard of the company they used ... except the axis cameras .. but then they used $10 housings! But the main issue was, they could have gone wired as it was a small gated community, even some were just across the road which is being dug up all the time anyway, or at least used the VideoComm high quality wireless. I still dont see a point to using IP systems (exceot for remote video), when you can run cable and use a DVR CCTV system, which is higher quality, with more options and stability in most cases. Even if its a case of using existing UTP/Cat5, then there is NVT Rory

    Recommend a small wireless camera?

Ive seen wireless IP camera set up down here with Axis cameras, motorolla canapy thing, and some custom IP server from Cannetticut installed by some guys from up in CT, terrible quality .. compressed video over the wireless lan .. waste of money. Not only did they not have a clue about video quality, they couldnt even mount the cameras in housngs properly, they were too far back showing the camera housing on most of them. Doesnt match the quality of wired video .. and if wireless is the only choice, Point to point or nothing ..!

    Port Forwarding

Yeah I saw them in the Linksys Router but I went with DynDns.org for now ... may check them out later ..
  13. Cant answer that, but they are only ever approximate calculations so take it for what its worth. But, with motion only recording, 3 cameras, with Wavelet in Highest quality, set to 8pps each but smart motion to speed up to as fast as 30pps 1 camera only, and using a 40GB HDD, I get over 2 months. 190 years ... i very much doubt it. anyway, WAVELET recording DVR: (GE Kalatel) so thats 2.647727272727272727 ...... Years ... But still, thats only 1 camera @ 1pps IN Low Quality .. why would anyone want that ..?? With a DVR, low quality record setting makes absolutely no sense. And Wavelet is higher quality than Mpeg4 anyway you cut it. Okay, lets even go as far as saying that Wavelet in this case may be 20kb, while Mpeg4 is 5kb (just thrown in values dont take them for real) .. so thats 4 x 2.64 .. years = 10 years APPROX .. nowhere even anywhere close to 190 years ..

    HuperDVR

Basically, you can tell the quality of the DVR, by the quality of the cameras a manufacturer makes. .. check out their box cameras. ..

    SPAMMMMM

If someone is going to spam the forum, they should at least make sure their web site link works
  19. they dont work with Windows ME by the way ... tried that already Even Freeview wont run on ME .... something to do with an older kernel ..
  20. im using the system max built to order ones ... they build it, I tweak it .. only thing is they dont sell to the Bahamas so we have to use someones US CC and address ... pain in the butt, but worth it. Im still trying to sell the stand alones, GE and even the Hunts, but when people find out they get more features from the PC, and dont mind the related issues, then they are going PC ... though we have started to sell more of the budget 4 channel stand alones ... cheaper than a PC system, unless you get your Own PC and use the 4 channel Eclipse Card. .. which by the way works on the Wintergreen $250 AMD PCs from Tiger .. and then with the eclipse you can also get their cheapo PTZ ..
  21. Im getting the PCs for $500 from tiger ..
  22. $3,000 ..?? Darn, my PC was free, the card was cheappp. Do you mean stutter?? I dont see any jerkin motion .. jerkin is up and down, like from interference from transmission issues. I think you need to spend $20,000+ to get what you want .. Remember that they are recording video to the HDD, if the HDD is not great, slow, or other hardware or software has issues, you will get occasional stuttering .. Check out the playback speeds on some RTOS stand alones, and you will come back cryin .. if yah think these are slowww Dont get me wrong, I still like me stand alones .. foe sure ..
  23. how much smoother do you want it????? Now if you are talking about the occasional stutter, that is more than likely to do with the slow old HDD i have in the old PC ... Just so you know, I used the Eclipse 240fps card, which is a Digivue card, and with just 1 camera on it, it was 1/2 the speed that I am getting on the Iview .... The Eclipse was basically 240fps / 16 cameras, no matter what amount of cameras you had on it ... which means I was getting 15fps with the Eclipse, and that means I am getting real time with the Iview regardless of the ocassional stutter ... When I put on more than 4 cameras, then I dont get real time, unless i set 1 camera to max, and the others to less like 8fps, etc. Like I said before, ignore the properties as they mean very little, the 8fps set cameras I recorded also say 15fps in the AVI properties in Windows XP, but they were certainly recording in 8fps. But let us know when you find one that is fast enough for yah i know for a fact the Stand Alone RTOS wont be it though ... and for 5 times the cost ... if you want a plug and play machine though, then the stand alone is the way to go ..
  24. Still blows away any Stand Alone RTOS DVR for speed and evidence quality, that I have seen available on todays current market: with all cameras recording at once ... http://www.bahamassecurity.com/tmp/jeep.avi 16.6mb
