    Internet viewing using anykeeper

You probably have to enable the HTTP server. If you have a link the the manual please post it here. Rory

    Remote viewing

Dynamic IP support, or HTTP support depends on the DVR, they are all different. The router such as a Linksys can run the DDNS also, thats how I do it, i enter my user name and pass in the router. So the router stays on all the t ime, and i port forward to the DVR. If the DVR supports HTTP then it will just work in IE, otherwise if using the software and ports are forwarded correctly, then the software will just connect also. Like i said, it depends, all DVRs are different, well most of them The Ipaq will always require software installed on it for it to work with the DVR, and not many DVRs have Pocket PC software.
  4. It will depend on the DVR software, not the card. Rory
  5. they will generally require one or the other, not both. They will normally ask you to select which format you use, cant use both. If its a stand alone it is a diferrent story, you would need to specify with some of them when ordering.
  6. Not all, and no they generally only support one or the other. Basically you can use PAL in the US, if you have PAL Cameras, vice versa for Europe, as far as I know, but most if not all DVRs are globally selective on the format.
  7. Thanks Alexander, Is it primarily a portable DVR? Also, the temperatures are mostly for the cold/very hot areas right? We are basically luke warm here all the time (80-90 degrees Far.), except a little cold in the Jan/Feb months (60-70 degrees Far.). Ive been busy last few days on some coding, and just glanced at it quick. How does it hold up in the vehicles, like we have tons of potholes here, as far as being used in a COP car or something like that? Will you be getting any distributors in the US, and can you possibly PM me some dealer pricing on the 4 ch kit on starter minimum volume pricing? I read that PDF and seems it can definately withstand the extreme Temps, now its just whether it can take the potholes down here You can PM/Email me if you like also. Id also like to know what the network software is like, and if there is any SDK or ActiveX. Thanks Rory

    Hey kids

Thats why Sal is going to give us such a great deal on dealer pricing, so he can meet his monthly quota.. Right Sal

how are their products compared to the Provideo HEAT bullets, domes, etc? thanks Rory
  11. The Remote Playback on the GE software is actually pretty easy once you know how, though I know what you mean about the slider at the bottom, etc. Personally I prefer a time date search so thats all i put in my version of the GE Network software at the time .. Actually, with WaveReader, once you are in Playback, there is a slider on the left which you can drag, and the other scroller is to speed or slow the speed. Disk Analysys is mainly used to download recorded video clips. You can also do a Search for time date, though that part is not as accessible as it is on my software. When using Disk Analysis, use the mouse to right click to Zoom in on video, or drag your mouse to select a time from to time end, to download to your PC. Or you can just click play. Once y ou are zoomed in more, it will show motion detection, alarms, etc. They certainly could make it alot easier for sure, I dont like the xtra pop up window. I tried to mimic a better version of that in my software but time got the best of me ... maybe another time I will go back into that code .. Rory
  12. Wavelet is high quality, but slower than MPEG4 for remote video, and are larger images. Apparently GE is updating their DVRs to Mpeg4, not sure when that will take place, just heard it through the grape vine, on this forum actually. If your main interest is remote video, ill tell you MPEG4 is great. The Iview card by me, Im recording in Wavelet actually, 640x480, as it is best quality, though less compression, but I can still connect in MPEG4 and so its basically real time. Stand alones dont give that option unfortnately, where you can record in one compression, but connect in a different one. I think MJPEG is somewhere in between the 2, i tried the DVR to record with MJPEG but didnt see much difference from Wavelet in quality. alot of the stand alones also use MJPEG instead of wavelet. Thats why Im selling this 4 ch Mpeg4 DVR, for all the features it has, its nice. No, its not GE, but still, for the price its loaded with features for a stand alone. By the way, Hunt and Webgate also use Wavelet, so do alot of others. MJPEG seems to be the most common though, in stand alones. Rory

Cool, thats what I like to see. Yah didnt try the backlighting pointed at the entrance by any chance?
  16. nah, none of them will have it until around august. But should have a 4,8,and 16 channel this month from a different brand, with: MJPEG, CDRW, VGA, 120fps. I forgot, that other one has VGA also. The reason I want to sell the other 4 channel is because of the MPEG4, USB and 4 channel Audio. Rory

Does it have any other settings, like adjustable AI, BLC, etc?
  18. By the way I need a guinea pig for a new 4 channel DVR if you are interested, let me know. Its alot less $$ than the GE but is Mpeg4, 120fps, 4 ch audio, USB and CDRW. Rory
  19. No, only the DVMRe-PRO is all black, the StoreSafes are all the same color. I have a StoreSafe System with 30pps, with 15 cameras. Its a 160GB and its recording approx 22 days on 15 cameras mon-fri 9am-8pm, 3 stores. If you want to see PB let me know by email. Rory

Yeah, its just soo much cheaper than the GE and other brand names, and the specs are good, just hope they pan out to be a good choice. Ive got to order one to test out now. How were they to set up? Rory

Yeah I just added this to my catelogue, the price is great for the specs ... how is the image? Id only be using it for indoors .. i wish they would make the housing look a little more normal though .. but cant complain on the price.
  22. Thats about right, but why not just get the 30pps one, its ALOT cheaper, its real time recording in motion recording mode, when there is only 1 or 2 cameras recording, its smart recording means it changes the speed as it needs to, its all I sell for the 4 channel GE, the extra dollars for the 60pps isnt really worth the price. That said, since you mentioned a black case, are you talking about the DVMRe-PRO that is 120-pps (in turbo mode) ..? Rory
  23. dont ask me ..! At least it could be the same color .. actually its not a black case, its beigish/brownish/greyish .. anyway, whats 2400CA in Dollars??
  24. check with the large alarm companies sometimes they will have older GE DVRs off lease looking to sell off. The PRO is probably too new for that though. Which version/channels were you looking at? Rory
