    Vandalism and Sysem Help Needed-

how'd I miss this one .. anyway, pronably missed it due to the non pararaphs and herm responded . anyway, check the prodiucts in this catalogue and see if anything interests you. Im not selling as it is in BAH$ but just to give you an idea of whats out there. http://bahamassecurity.com/uploads/xtremeCCTVcatApril2005.1.01.pdf The hidden cameras arent weatherproof, though you can seal up a gangbox and stick in a pinhole mini camera to make it hidden and seal it up good, to work outside. I have done this before. Or you can use a discree bullet camera, they are hard to see physically. A dome will give you the most vandal proof solution such as the WizKid BW or Color Dome. for your situation I would use a BW camera for sure. If you need part numbers to get pricing, let me know. I can get a dealer in your area or one from this forum to contact you, or I can post part numbers and you can research the best way to get them yourself. Rory

    DVR's in large stores

Mr Wall and Mr Mart, we have crumpits and tea on sundays on the golfcourse Who's LPC? do they drive the golf carts
  8. POOR IMAGE QUALITY - can be said also for DVRs recording on low res which is required by most to get high frame rate recording NO AUTHENTICATION - certainly is INFLEXIBLE CONFIGURATION - tons of configurations LOW STORAGE CAPABILITY - compared to HDDs sure, BUT, you can easily get 960 hours with tape LIMITED SECURITY - high security is analogs biggest pro over digital LOW INTELLIGENCE - motion detection is a norm with analog cctv. WaAhhhhhahahhhhhh

    DVR's in large stores

I imagine as they are all seperately owned (??) they go with their own sources.

    Ok who makes this one?

thats a toughy, difficult image, dont think ive seen that one before ... do you have at least an image of the menu programming or remote software.. could be a custom case, but a known board.

    Promax?

I would say, except one of our forum members is the owner of that company ... check the member list, or here yah go http://www.cctvforum.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=755
  13. Yeah LuxRiot is the best Ive seen myself, but maybe Scott can check to see if it will work with Acti. Acti has their own software and SDK also, may want to look at that as well. Rory

    More then one Connection

another way is a simple remote relay, such as :ARGHH: x-10. Then you can dial in or over the net get in and switch the DVR off and on again, disconnecting the current user ...even some burglar alarm systems will support this. Rory

    More then one Connection

Its not a PC.. its a linux embedded DVR, only 1 internal (2 max) HDDs. Software on 2nd drive would have to know how to talk to the EPROM Software. ... or am I missing something ..?
  16. Huh? The GE kalatel DVMRe-PRO comes with a CDR or a DVDR, cost is huge to get the DVDR over the CDR, in fact the cost from a SDVR to a DVMRe-PRO is huge also and for the 120pps over the 60pps, is not worth it, unless you really want it, need it, or if it IS a 16 channel then it can make a diff. The SDVR is fine and CDR is all you really need for most apps. If you REALLY need the 4GB then your best bet is the DVMRe-PRO, use the 80GB version, but switch the hard Drive out, that is easier then changing the back up drive. The DVMRe-PRO also comes with a Fire Wire output, so does the DVMRe-CT which is much cheaper. The SDVR only has the CDR as back up. Firwire can give you endless back up choices. If you do switch the HDD on any of the GE Kalatel DVRs, make sure to keep the HDD as the serial number macthes the DVR serial number, so it would be required for any warranties. Also, if you replace the HDD, it uses a standard 5400rpm, and do not partition or format it. You also will loose the HTTP server as that is installed by GE on the DVRs HDD. Rory NOTE: SDVR =s StoreSafe
  17. If yah like words like CRASH and BLUESCREEN .. its all good hey if they work, they work. Just due to the price though, they will "normally" have less features. Example being, -Do they have choices of Wavelet, MPEG4 and MJpEG, or just one of them? -Do they at least do MPEG4 for remote video access? -Do they have PDA (Pocket PC) Software? -Can you view the recordings visually (Disk Map/Analysis) on the actual hard disk remotely and see how long they have been recording for? -Can you download Sections of Recorded Video Remotely by selecting time and dates? -Do they have full user Remote Control of the PC or just the DVR server Software? -Do they have multiple configurable user access? -Do they have unlimited Remote User Connections? -How well does their User Access work, do you have to set up users for remote access seperate from the DVR Server Access? -How many cameras can be viewed remotely and locally at one time? -How many sites can be viewed remotely at one time? -Can you customise the browser GUI? -Can you create your own Network Software GUI - is there an ActiveX or SDK? -Which PTZ brands are supported? -Does it have Relays? -Does it have audio recording? -Does it have remote audio listen in? -Can you minimize the DVR server Software without it shutting down? -Does it have CCTV Monitor/TV Output? -Does it have real time multiplexed outputs (multi view) or just sequencing? -Lastly - do you need a dongle? Hows that going to work?

    Type of system?

wait a go CCTVfan! Good investigating ...
  20. No I dont think it will work. Reason being is the software is made to work with a CDR and not a DVDR, DVDRs even if installed on a PC require drivers for them to work properly when using burning software, whereas most CDRs are recognised by default.

    More then one Connection

I doubt it will change right now. Almost all the budget Stand Alone DVRs only allow 1 user connection at one time. Best to check with them direct. I think it uses the same software as the Hisharp (?), which also only accepts 1 connection at a time, I imagine it is the same board http://www.bahamassecurity.com/gallery/HiSharp.htm Rory
  22. Specially when you have CCTVoutlet selling those Eclipse cards (digiflower) in Miami ... Thats the kind of thing I had to compete with down here when selling only the Stand Alones, so I had to switch to DVR cards to be able to give a lower price also ... its a tough world Where in FL are you located? Rory
  23. If it is second hand, more than likely the software that came with it is old, perhaps created before windows XP came out. Check the model of the card, as if they are stil lin business, you should be able to get an upgrade. Also, there are other software that will work with it, but they all cost money. There are trials though, here are some of them: go1984 - cheap but works - not exactly the best http://www.go1984.com/Default.htm Gotcha NOW - also very cheap and really not that great, but works http://www.gotchanow.com/ WebCam Watchdog - no comment http://www.webcamsoft.com/en/watchdog.html Active WebCam - no comment http://www.pysoft.com/ LuxRiot - the best for IP and Local CCTV for capture cards without the original surveillance software - this one was great, though not cheap: http://www.luxriot.com/ Also see these posts: See this one first .. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=12744 and .. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=1711 http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=7700 http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=119
