That's funny because I have had 2 jobs where I carried a firearm. I constantly had dreams about a malfunction during a firefight. What's funnier is the one time I thought I might have to actually fire I wasn't worried about a malfunction at all. What I remember most was thinking about how loud the shots were going to be. It's strange what a guy will worry about in a stressful situation. I make sure my windows are closed good so the gunman cant see inside to aim at me when im sleeping ..!! Ofcourse with a shotgun or uzi/AK, that wont matter much, well thankfully I have the yard beams ...so ill know when to jump and duck

yeah its probably illegal, we dont have a need for them here ... we got spears for fishing, no spear guns though. You can actually get a licence for a shot gun, for hunting, pigeons!!!!!!!!!!! Still not THAT easy to get. Flare guns are illegal also, unless you own a boat you cant legally have a flare gun. Rory

Yeah the GE mini dome cameras are definately over priced. The 350TVl color dome isnt bad though, good image, basically its almost worth the price Im going to take your word on those ganz and give them a try, for the price, its looks good, and they're ganz so cant really go wrong. Ive also switched my box cameras, from GE to the Sanyo for the features Sanyo has in them, and Ive used them before and liked them. They are also cheaper than GE especially the day night. Out of the 5 GE DR Vandal Resistant domes ive used, only one gave me a great image, the rest were .. not worth the price. I think i was just lucky with that one dome .. Im still selling their Hidden Cameras, and some of their Discreet cameras though ..

maybe not, yet, though we are one of the easiest to hit, as we have no defence. And we got tons of tourists here every day that can cause us to be a target .. dont think they comin this far though ...

Can you expand on this? Where, exactly, is it illegal for you? This is very interesting for me, and maybe for others out there. Maybe we can come up with a good list of places where it's legal and not. Thanks! Sorry, I just saw your reply... From what I understand, in most US states (if not all), it's illegal to do audio surveillance without posting a sign at the ingress points to the area being monitored. In my case that would be my front and back yard, which wouldn’t be practical. Personally, I wouldn’t be interested in recording conversations as detecting the nature and location of a particular sound. But it’s not practical in my case. The police here have arrested a few people that attempted fraud in the gas stations, from the audio as well as the video. Basically the suspects claimed they dropped $100 on the floor, and came back to look for it. Not nice to gogo prison here, for a $100 crime!!!

Unfortunately, without the streaming part, or at least some means of remote access, that doesn't help too much. Thanks though! You can connect to it remotely, download and playback the video and audio at the same time, it just doesnt stream the audio and video live, you have to download it then playback. One location I just did this with, it records in time lapse mode video, and audio is smooth. Email me if you want the clip. Rory

Okay, ill try to get a copy of a clip of video with audio and post it here. I have a couple clients with kalatel DVRs (GE Video), and the audio is great. It does not stream audio but recorded is great. Rory

Shockwave wouldnt capture the video so I just used Movie Maker to convert from AVI to WMV and embed ...doesnt work in Mozilla yet though. I gave up on IRs in Domes way back when, they just dont do anything to warrant the use of them.

Yeah XPSP2 is working good here also, they did a good job with that upgrade ..

Its an AVI File. I was trying to use CamStudio to convert it to a SWF file for the internet, but it for some reason, turns a 20MB AVI file into a 100MB SWF file which defeats the purpose. So, i ended up converting to WMV manually. Rory

He just means RG59 Siamese cable, which is RG59 coax with 18AWG Power Cable all in one. There is video loss with any cable that is not amplified. 150-200' best just use RG59 Siamese. Or you could use Baluns with Cat5 then if it isnt any good, you can always add some Cat5 Amplifiers. Personally I stay away from baluns, and just use RG59 or Amplified Cat5.
