60 fps versus 120fps at single camera 4fps
rory replied to fdan4817's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
It means the recording will be faster than what you need see the video link on my home page, its 120fps 8 channel card, but only 2 cameras so its getting full real time on each one. Generally i dont go over 8fps anyway. -
eh, you could yah know, eh ... no sweat off my back, eh .. LOL

Is a machete the preferred weapon of choice down by you? When I was driving around St. Lucia it seemed like everyone was carring one guns are illegal here, like 6 months for every bullet and a couple years for the gun .. machetes, well anyone can have them ..
-
yes there are a couple, but not at retail pricing. ... take a look at the active-tek.com DVRs, not sure if they let you change the ports though ... probably. Powertelecomm may have one that does that in May, will know more then. Changing ports features going to be a toughy in the cheap DVRs ($600-800 4 channel range), though GE DVRs now let you change the HTTP port ...dont know how that works but the feature is there ..but they are pricey.

nah .. i was meaning we have to use cable TV coax for CCTV half the time if we dont have the RG59 in stock and the client doesnt want to wait .. for those cheap jobs .. actually none of them are my jobs i just come in subcontracted for the extra dollars ..
-
easier said then done .. to start with you cant buy siamese in the bahamas. Then the RG59 we can get is aluminum ... so basically we gots to order from miami, but if its a quick cheap job they want it asap and if we dont have the cable in stock ($500 landed for 1000 foot role) . its all we can use .. darn how many times ive had to use RG6/U ... cable TV cable .. cant turn down that $50 job yah know .. anyway ,easiest thing is to find your nearest security distributot/retailer, and just tell them you want CCTV siamese cable ..
-
cool ... but we aint using RG59 siamese for our rf stuff G ..

http://www.active-tek.com/jun/HtmlPro/product1-1.htm they sell this model in Miami http://www.active-tek.com/jun/HtmlPro/product1-2.htm and the same manufacturer, different name: www.Uriel.net l Thing is, I dont need a CDRW though, just the one without it, it has a USB port for back up. We WERE going to sell it as a mid range low end stand alone .. its still more than the 4 channel w/LAN we currently sell. Though a good unit for built in back up and VGA. But ....other options coming out. Though Powertelecomm's new Triplex DVR coming in May will probably knock it off the shelf with pricing and features. Rory

CCTV is Industrial Surveillance for Security Purposes. WebCams (NOT network cameras) are designed for simple entertainment.

Rory, I have a B&W board camera that's completely blind to IR light. It’s a covert outdoor camera mounted behind a sheet of special glass originally designed for photographic use with enlargers. Either the glass itself is filtering the IR light or the camera doesn’t pick it up. I've had if for about 6 years and have long forgotten the brand and specs. Its got to have a filter or that glass is filtering it out, Take the camera out byitself and it should work.

No Problem. Where are you located?
-
Working on that .. i just applied for Mailboxes Etc to get a US street address, as I need that for a US merchant account. I didnt know I could get a street address unless I was living over there. So hopefully next few weeks ill start selling online. I have a couple distributors that will drop ship for me now, including the brands like GE, Provideo, etc, Iview, and also the PowerTelecomm DVRs. I actually had a large online catelog including alarm systems, but took them off last year until I get it all straight. You can see the alarms here: http://www.bahamassecurity.com/sa Only problem is right now im working on 2 web sites for other people, including a Bikini Design Line, a Shopping Cart, and then also my Real Estate Site ... so its alot of work right now ... Hi, are you a dealer or an end user? Best place to buy if you are a dealer, is from the nearest distributor to your location. i buy from Miami as thats the closest to me. Even if they dont have it on their line card they normally can get it for you, this goes for any brand. Get pricing from a couple distributors to find out which is the cheapest in your area for the products you are buying. The pushy ones, normally will be able to get you a lower price .. they are the true salesmen. Tell them you normally buy from another dist and then they will have something to work with on price. After all the lower you can buy the product for, the lower it is for your clients. As for the Kalatel DVRs, there is no special rock bottom online store for these unfortunately, just your local distributors. If you want a dealer price list email me. Your distributor will normally be around the listed dealer price, more or less. Mind you I found a distributor in Miami that does have the best prices on these DVRs that I have encountered so far, the DVMRe-CT at least. Rory

Yep .. All the miami distributors still quote it as Kalatel. I just got another quote from a different one than I normally use, and yep was called Kalatel in the quote ..and i asked for GE security Guess they will adjust to the new name in time ..

HELP! Kodicom 4.11 remote client
rory replied to a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Where 192.168.1.200 is the local DVR IP, and port 1024 is the DVR Port. Change the values to your own. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- in the Router you would look for Advanced and Port Forwarding in a Linksys Router, or others can be Servers/Gaming Applications. If the port was 1024, and the Local IP is 192.168.1.200, then it would be: NAME = Anything you want Port = 1024 TO 1024 TCP/UDP = TCP LOCAL IP = 192.168.1.200 ENABLED = CHECKED Set up additional entries for as many ports the DVR uses, to the same local IP. For the browser part to work you normally have to also set up Port 80 as another Entry, using the Same local IP. Sometimes you dont, and also sometimes you will have to enable the DMZ for a particular DVR. then using a static IP or look in status of the router for your ISP's Dynamic IP assigned, you can even enter it locally instead of using the Internal IP, that way you know it will work from outside the local network. Anyway that is port forwarding. Also, if it accepts HTTP browser then you can set up a DDNS account with something like, DynDNS.org, get yourself a name and password, and set that in the DDNS section of the router. That way instead of using an IP address, always use the DDNS name you were assigned/set.
