    Sanyo DSR-3506H80 DVR

Ahh, well that makes sense then Anyway, Kalatel (now GE) is a bigger player in the DVR industry then Sanyo, and as far as I have seen around the same price.

    Sanyo DSR-3506H80 DVR

Never heard of Kalatel??? They were one of the first to make a DVR. At one time there were only 3 of them that could compete, Kalatel, Teleplex, and Kodicom. Trust me, Sanyo isnt cheap. Kalatel has the best price on a long lasting 4 channel DVR, the StoreSafe-4-40.

    Sanyo DSR-3506H80 DVR

Question though, why would you use the Sanyo, over the Kalatel DVRs?? I dont see the point.

    Help in choosing DVR

Question is, are you talking about Samsung Techwin or the other Samsung? Also, have you tried the 721 latest camera, just came out recently. It has SSNR, and is designed for licence plate capture.

Okay, so lets say we have just basic commands for each DVR, at least we have Live view right .... anyway ..so I have done Kalatel and Iview .....lets see whats next, DM ... anyone got demos they are willing to open up so we can widen this a little ..alls we need is the web browser software to go ahead and test ...let us know. Cable question

never heard of ct100, is it a UK cable type? We use Rg6 for Sat down here, and it outperforms Rg59 by around 300 foot or so. You can easily get twist on BNC connectors for RG6.

    Sanyo DSR-3506H80 DVR

I hope Sanyo doesnt discontinue their DVRs as quick as they do their cameras .. ??
  10. Darn, you could havew had the 2.0ghz i just threw out ... Anyway, the biggest problem is the onboard video ,, that will always slow you down. Only thing to do is add as muh memory as you can.
  11. dude you can buy a 2.4ghz P4 for $250-300 in the US now: www.tigerdirect.com tell him stop being cheap, we got to pay double down here...
  12. You'd have to invest in a good Mux, as the cheap ones (OEMs) arent that great a picture. An example of a good mux would be something from Kalatel. A cheap one would be from Provideo.

I thought that was a wide dynamic camera, so it would compensate for certain lighting conditions .. ofcourse a flash light right in the camera will shot any cam ..??

    why?
  16. No never had a failure from the PIRs. they are still there. The Vandal Domes failed on me on one job twice, and I dont like their Ultraview its too complicated to set up and the price is too much for the quality if video achieved. Their support is almost non existant for where I live, I cant stay on the phone for hours. The only thing ill use them for now is the Hidden Cameras and, for now, the DVRs until something better comes along for that kind of DVR application. Ill use their Exview cams and PTZs for now also, until I start using the Bosch .. Course we dont sell much of this type of product anymore down here anyway with the present economy so, its mostly cheap bullet cams and cheap DVRs for now ..and PC DVRs for the features and recurring service calls ..
  17. Iview's not a comart card as far as I know. Ive got tons of the GE hidden cams out there, as they are soo cheap and look so good, everyone wants them, none have failed yet. Maybe they go bad on the trip over the Atlantic The GE Exview is definately better than the Sanyo though. As you know I use both of them.

  19. Pretty much straight on Some others, PC: Iview Coming up there, Dallmier and Russian Ones, too far to go to get them for us, but id like to take a look at the Dallmeir one now you mention it. Standalones: Nadatel still not easy to get a hold of over here, DM c ant stand their menu programming but their DVIP isnt bad - too costly though. Cameras: GE (Kalatel) has some of the best hidden cameras (they look like real alarm devices as they use real alarm housings), and at least 1 very good Exview Day Night and Exview Standard Camera, which work well with IR (the DN with 1100nm response). Provideo has the best line of Bullet cameras, their HEAT line.

  21. Umm, mines a Celleron 2Ghz, 256MB RAM, 30GB HDD ... catch is its a RADEON 9200SE 128MB Video Card ... Its has the I-view card, and been running great the past couple weeks ,no hitches, 24/7.. ofcourse 30Gb its not getting too long a recording but its mostly a demo so it doesnt matter, the PC used to be an accounting PC so its not new ..
