Yeah, they have been arond for a long time. They are in the same range as Provideo as for Cameras at least. Basically they buy OEM so their products are not unique. Same goes for Provideo. Their DVRs are the Webgate Inc DVRs. http://www.webgateinc.com/ WebGate is also the OEM for Bosch, Honeywell, Samsung Techwin. Hunt has a Demo on their site under DVRs and 16 channel HVR http://www.huntcctv.com/HVRLIVEDEMO1.htm Most distributors sell their gear. Rory

buy, i's ca right one bahamian manual dred, if yah wan.. -
I havent used it, but the specs are the best camera Provideo has. It claims a machanical IR cut Filter, so your Day images are great? When you say red, was this when it was in BW mode, with other color cameras on the same system, or just the one camera byitself? Also what DVR were you using? For real though, IR cameras need to be mounted low as possible to reflect or you wont see much. If you had a UF500 you could get away with it being higher up, but then .. the cost, and 30-40 feet is still very high and hard to get at to clean it, which can be needed at least once a week, depeding on weather. Looks like another DVR I could but wont name .. anyway the company is in CA and you are, so if it doesnt cost too much, give it a try. Do you have a link to the remote software? Basically they sell OEM Dvrs, like alot of people do, no problem with that. I would ask them who makes the DVR so you can check out the manufacturer. I think I know but cant say. You can still buy from them as it is cheaper than trying to buy from the manufacturer, but its nice to know who makes them. Their non network DVRs are AvTech by the way, so is a couple of the networked ones. Rory

In the $1800-2000 price range 16 channel Embedded RTOS linux: Kodicom Nuvico/Vitek Hunt I havent tried any of them in person, but I have used the Hunt Remotely and seems very good, for the price. The Hunt DVR is made by WebGate Inc, who also PARTNERS with Bosch, Samsung Techwin, and Honeywell. The manual is pretty straight forward, and seems easy enough to set up. Samsung Techwin, Hunt, and Webgate Manager Software are exact the same. Havent looked at the Nuvico/Vitek though they come well recommended. Looked at the manual for Kidocom, also looks good, though manual is over complicated. Havent tried the remote software yet. Not a big seller in this area. In all you wont go wrong with either of these. Everfocus is not in the same league as them. It is overpriced in the US for what it is. If you go up to high end Embedded RTOS, there is Kalatel, Bosch, Panasonic, March Networks. DM is okay if you are in the Uk, but dont bother with it if you are in the US, it isnt that great and overpriced also. Sanyo has also come recommened on this forum, though I havent personally checked it out yet. Ive been plugging in Kalatel DVRs past 4 years in closets, attics, the like, never to have to go back to them and they are still online. Kalatel Support has depreciated since GE took over so im probably going to switch to something like Bosch. I was looking at the March Networks but cannot get any firm info on them, such as a demo. Panasonic doesnt seem to have much of a selection of DVRs but seem to have alot of strengths. You wont go wrong with any of these higher end DVRs. They range for the 16 channel in the $3000-5000+ range. For a low end, look at the AvTech (also sold by PowerTellecom), its the cheapest out there, and if you are looking to buy low end, then its your best bet. Get what you pay for. Rory -
Umm, with Windows XP it doesnt have to have anything in it, you can delete it, it will just recreate itself as a blank file anyway. Unless you have some sound drivers or something, but I thought dos doesnt work in XP anyway ..

Their Specs do say Infrared Sensitive, as an OPTION, at least thats what I thought they meant. The camera I posted has no IR as it has a permanent IR Filter to block the IR. It does switch to Monochrome though, for a little more sensivity. Actually it just removes the Chroma that is used to produce Color, but the IR Cut Filter is permanent. Check with them, if they have the same bullet, but with an IR option. Also, what IR Spectrum is the IR LED? (nm) If you point the Infrared at the camera, do you see the light? Rory

VCR will be worst quality, 250TVL average. Yes the stand alone will, depending on which one you buy. but you sacrifice fps. -

take a look the 640x480 thread i replied to, it also compresses the image, imaging recording at no compression, how big that recorded video will be.. -
I was playing around with Video Capture, with a Card I have, using VidCap, etc. I could set it to 740x480, or lower like 640x480, etc. Anyway, when you Maximize the screen, this is with only one camera at a time, anyway, in 740x480 mode, you do notice a large difference over 640x480. It still isnt as good as the direct to a TV/Monitor, but it is good, for recording to a CD, where as the Stand Alones when you save that video to a CD, it is much more pixelised, as its been compressed for the network (I imagine). Anyway, no compression on 740x480 as an AVI file, 10 seconds, 80MB. Converted using Windows Movie Maker, to a WMV file, 500kb. Just for info incase anyone cares Rory

Dont know, just saying, make sure it is 1000x768. If it still looks bad, try a regular TUBE monitor. If it is great on the Tube, then its the LCD. How much did you pay for the LCD, what brand is it? Cheap LCDs will not give you good quality, thats the drawback to them, you have to buy the more expensive ones to get good quality images. -
Geez, we have no representatives for this country! LOL Yeah the Kalatel has done that Network Programming feature on the all-in-ones since I started using them, and lets you save the bin file .. I think alot of these big players are doing that, or have been for a while. The price we pay for them, they should cook us a meal and wash our car also!! anyway, i PMed you before, if you know the rep for my area for Bosch can you have them contact me please dude ..thanks. Im looking around for a replacement for the Kalatels as GE support sucks big time, Kalatel was good when it was Kalatel, now its all GE ..Grossly Enormous .. they dont seem to check for the little man anymore, and want you to spend forever on the phone ...i need email support .. Rory

sounds good, are they going to be much more pricier than the Divar2? Or in the similar price range ..
-
Thats probably a retail price. Plus whats Candadian to US$? Just curious .. Rory
-
Cool, I just got an email from them with pricing etc. Yeah, also id been talking with Comart and they said they recommend the Xecap also .. as they will be discontinuing the HiCap in the future. Im looking at them primarily for creating my own DVR software. But Lux Riot is great for IP and analog etc, must have taken them alot of time and money to get that doing what it does ..working with so many products. Hey site looking good Vitaly, using the 404 for the HTM or are they physically static? Your own cart or purchased? Nice design though, smooth and professional. I have to look at some IP cameras and software now, and where to get them from.. what do you recommend for plug and play cheap servers, like to use with any cameras / existing systems. This would be for Video Monitoring. Rory

i think your biggest problem is that its probably a cheap LCD ..? And like G22 said, if its not in its native res .. so make sure it is 1024x768 if its a new LCD. -

What type of LCD screen? Alot of them dont produce a good picture for a computer anyway. Best to try it with a Tube and see if it improves. The High Res Dell LCDs are good but they cost in the $700+ range. -
Yes there is a difference. Not much though. The stand alones Live Display is better but their record is not much different.
