i dont shop ebay so cant help yah there, but .. most Zoom lenses come with or have control boxes .. you may want to find out what brand these lenses are, then go from there. A rat shack relay will work also if hooked up right Just will be controlled via the DVR alarm contact not the PTZ. Rory

You're getting deep here Basically you can control it like you would hook up an Alarm Siren on a Relay, where it used power from a seperate Power Supply, and not the alarm Controls Power Supply. The dvr probably has its own alarm relays so you could use them. Im not an expert on relays (havent had time to play with them much yet), but my colleague is, so if you need a hand email me the lens specs and I can pass it by him. I doubt you will be able to use the DVRs PTZ functions as they only normally support certain PTZ manufacturer protocols (ASCII Strings/ Commands) without an external box/receiver of some sought. But for sure you would be able to use the contacts. You may be able to get a protocol like Pelco to work for it as t hat seems to be the most supported protocol in the world .. and has been for years ... Best to check with someone that sells that DVR make though, as well. Rory

Tom, so you know, one of your clients has been spamming this forum. Bchong i think the name is. You may want to let them know to keep their financial issues to them selves, at least when making the same post in 10+ unrelated threads. I got a lot of new email today (and yesterday) that I could really have done without .. by the way, great products from what I have seen so far, i have a card on the way to check out. Rory

You can either just splice them all together, and use an RCA plug into the Audio on the AV of a TV, or DVR, or CCTV Monitor. Except you will hear all at once, though it works. Or use a Louroe 4 Channel Base Station. http://www.louroe.com/basestations.asp?model=ap4 They have other models like 2 way audio, alarming base stations, and more, or less, channels. They are very simple to install. They also have other microphones if you need to add more: I use the Verifact-A and Verifact-D. http://www.louroe.com/mics.asp Rory

Dont know about that one, similar if not pretty close on the specs, but this I just tested last couple days and installed at a clients business today. Great little camera, up there with the Pro Traditional Exview Cameras .. http://www.csi-speco.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=568 F:1.6 - 3.6mm Lens. Low Light Exview Color Switches to BW but only in low low light .. otherwise stays in nice color. Built in fixed IR cut Filter - means day time color rendering is great. High res is great. Rory

Best Pricepoint DVR w/ excellenct POS support?
rory replied to XXX's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Have you tried the Kalatel POS yet? I havent, just wondering .. I heard it was great, and seen some screen shots, their normal search is great also. Not much call for this down here though, but still good to know. I know image vault has been doing it for a long time also. Same thing with Compression in the Kalatels, wavelet is huge .. but it is very clear. Rory -
thats true .. its a shame as it is a Whizkid .. rock solid housing .. cant break it if we tried .. Well dropping it while in mid air flight will probably do it, but they wont open the doors at that height ...! I guess we can always buy a cheap board cam and stick it in the housing ..

My friend has a camera that is showing the color in blue .. any ideas? Never come across this one before ... its not a new camera, but it was working fine before Thanks rory

I think we should have an area in the dealer section so we can get pricing on things like that .. sounds interesting .. Rory

ive had my Triplite Voltage Regulator and Condioner, since 1996, paid $150 at the time and it still works and protects. I dont even bother with a UPS, i rather power protection .. then again when we have power cuts down here, they are off for hours ... so only thing that works is a generator
-
They wont last a day down here...
-
Surge Protection is pretty useless, need something with a voltage regulator. Rory
-
Dont think it should have anything to do with Locks though - that is a regulated industry and kind of like plumbing is to CCTV.

just helped someone get one of these PTZ's working for a Dedicated Micros DVR. using 1 pair wire for data (+ and -) the setting in the camera has to be the Samsung Protocol, 9600 baud, and Half. If the DVR has Samsung Protocol set it all to Samsung.

well locks might be getting to much into the locksmith trade, a whole different thing .. should keep it within the area of electronic security ..

looks just like the cop-usa vcr .. i got 2 here and nothing to do with them ..

You may be better looking at one of the Asian PC DVR Cards, or Asian Embedded XP stand Alones, instead of a US based DVR, for shipping pricing reasons ..... Any idea on pricing you have in mind .. in $US ... Otherwise you can check out Thomas who works for Video-Insight, for dealer pricing. http://www.cctvforum.com/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=268 Rory

What country, this will help decide on the product availability and pricing also. Rory
