you bet! No attics in the house join each other, there are 4 in total and they are small and tight, the clients electrician is "well trained" in neatness though and knows the house well. Most areas just dont have attic. To reach this attic we had to come from outside using conduit coming from the upstairs office. Other parts we had to run conduit over the flat roof (roof is all rubber - you can bounce on it but as i installed this mostly in the summer it was no fun ..hot as hell). I also did all the cable TV wiring for them, well not me I just told the electrician what and where to run it ... i used an amplifier for that. and hooked all that up myself .. not my area but easy enough ..now they call me anytime there is a TV/ AV issue ..they have plasma TVS everywhere .. even all the PCs have their own Plasma .. which I hooked all up also ...

nope ..its an old concrete home from like 1940.. we have had hell in the past with the alarm as it was an 80+ wireless alarm system, when I took it over I had to add a bunch of extra receivers, and they had originally (the US installers) left all the zones unsupervised as they didnt have enough receivers and the zones wouldnt work properly .. as for CCTV, run in moulding and conduit on the outside, and in this attic and that attic run loose, it was not easy. We had wireless TX's orginally but I think this house is on an indian burial ground!! We ran wire and threw out all the wireless, and then same time tore down the Bullet cameras and installed Extreme CCTV cameras and Infrared. All RG59 and RG6 mixed, no interference at all on the video Just today I had to move an alarm TX that had been working fine for a year then suddenly lept loosing the signal, had to move it 6 inches and now it works - go figure that .. See the last picture with the mic, that ceiling is actually concrete, the whole house has concrete ceiling even with attic above some of it .. basically it is a cable runners and electricians nightmare, there are workers here everyday for this or that, its like a hotel! Ill get some photos of the wire runs just for you they are even installing their own reverse osmosis salt water system right now, they live right on the beach. Originally it was just some provideo bullet BW IR cameras with the Kalatel Muliplexer, with a TV,then added some COP-USA IR which didnt help (hey leave all the lights off at night and also have motion lights), so upgraded to the 8 Extreme CCTV outdoor cameras, then recently added indoor cams, the Provideo Mux, DVR, and audio - SO we upgraded quite a bit, from the initial install. No to mention all the wire runs here and there from where it was originally wireless. rory

this is the ONLY reason i sell bullet cameras, as they are compact and discreet, you wont get any smaller than them: weather resistant .. i put them on trees down here even .. http://www.csi-speco.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=690 http://www.csi-speco.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=688 http://www.csi-speco.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=267 http://www.csi-speco.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=568 http://www.csi-speco.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=732 http://www.csi-speco.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodID=250

then you want a GE Kalatel KTC-240CCE or 115C as they are the smallest profesional cameras I have seen, and can accept any size lens. Then you can use either the pelco or Video Larm housing. Batko has some that may be even smaller.

no sorry, was just searching around.. -
thanks, yeah i miss real roads! actually this was a 2 lane road, (dual carriageway) but still the island wide speed limit is stuck in the 1920's horse & carriage days - 35mph tops! My 4.0 6 litre jeep doesnt even have a mark for 35mph, its like 20, then 40 tip of the gas pedal and im hitting 60 easy .. i blame the fact that most bahamians just cant handle a vehicle, thats peobably why they keep the speed limit so slow, otherwise there will be more retarded accidents than we already have The driving instructor schools only teach yah to go 20 mph. ..25 max ..and those instructors cant even handle a car! In addition to a need for drivers ed, they need a program to speed up peoples reflexes here, they are way too slow ... can wait on a triffic light for a whole 2 minutes sometimes as thats how long it takes the driver in front to realise it has actually changed GREEN

the road traffic here have this "every other month" speed trap set up in a couple location on the island, other times you never see them and there is no law on the road ... anyway, i got hit at 42 in a 35 ..wow so fast ..anyway, they are like children, as I was sitting there waiting on the side of the road, the guy with the speed gun was jumping up and down, "50 dread, 50!!", like it was candy in a little kids hands .. as a car was speeding up the road ..and they pulled him over too. So I sat and waited. The oher police was writing in a school book, the cop with the speed gun comes up and says ive been stopped for expeeding the speed limit, and shows me the speed gun reading, which conveniently showed just a red line! Anyway. They never gave me a ticket or anything to sign, they filled out my info in this school book, and then told me I had to report to the road traffic on monday and they will tell me what to do. I asked if I could get some sought of receipt, he said no just go there on Monday. Im like !????!??? Anyway, so i dont have a problem that i was doing 40 in a 35, but t he fact that our Road Traffic here is a joke, I have no respect for any thing they say or do, including historic posted speed limits, as they only do it once ina while and in a couple places. iF they are going to do it, do it right, do it all the time, like 3am on the other side of the island where I live, where they have totaled 5 of my mirrors and recently wrote off my wall, about 50 feet of it was destroyed, and there is not even a report on that, or others for that matter. People settle outside of the law and so the file gets displaced permantly. 99% of the time there are no road laws followed on this island, it is wild. No doubt, Ive written off 2 cars already from bad drivers, there is no law against drinking and driving, nobody signals, hardly any cars brake lights work, most dont have insurance, let alone drivers licences, and 1 in 5 drivers run every red light, or cut off other drivers overtaking with oncoming traffic! Accidents are never investigated or measured, and NEVER cleaned up, they just leave pieces of walls or cars all in the middle of the road for other cars to crash. Every day is a task to drive on this island - or should i say a nightmare! Weekends is a free for all for speeding over 90 outside my appartment, and after dark you will never see a traffic cop anywhere on the island .... the intelligence of the Road Traffic Inspectors leave much to imagination. 2 words - THIRD WORLD! ok vent over with

this is cool though I didnt think they had guns in Canada though!! http://www.extremecctv.com/products/index.cfm?img=63

Actually from what I have been told, explosion proof simply means it wont cause any sparks which could result in an explosion when used in hazardous enviroments. Whether it can actually withstand an explosion is beyond me, I dont think they test for that though.

Cool ... just remember its a different signal, for future reference ..CCTV and TV different signals - to view on the TV input an RF Modulator would be required. Direct input into the Audio/Video Inputs such as the RCA or S-Video, is a better choice, cheaper and also much better quality - which is the way you have it now. Rory
