12vDC 3rd and last time indoors

it is a multiple 12VDC power supply, 6a, only 4 cameras were connected, Ive put it back on the 12VDC today during the day, set it back to defaults and set the ATW to WIDE, and the WD setting to general, seems okay now, dont know what its doing at night though, yet, but day is okay and lights are on in the day also. Weird. Still, I did have this problem with 3 provideo 12VDc domes in the past and was told to switch to 24VAC ones ..course didnt, but anyway .. the image of those cheap domes are so crappy, I just dont get how people can use them so much. I guess Im just used to the more expensive product and the better images

    Speco DVR

one word, POS! Actually, its okay as a local DVR, its darn large though, main problem it has no remote software, just a built in web server which is horrible quality on line, and I would not even consider it as remote video device. Any of the other software they give you does nothing, so ignore it. Its made by someone else cant remember the name off hand. just branded under Provideo. Rory

    Asian Catastrophe

AND if you thought you have seen anything on CNN or BBC, Or other News TV, check this link out, http://www.waxy.org/archive/2004/12/28/amateur_.shtml Actually the BBC one is pretty depressing, but shows how quick tens of thousands of people on 1 city were suddenly killed without notice.

    Asian Catastrophe

Gawd Ive been watching BBC International, they show everything, dead, everything. Do you see the cities like Ache with dead bodies piled up into the middle of the street just to get them out of the way! One city is wiped off the planet, had 95,000 people, survivors are unknown. And the hospitals they are showing the injured rotting away as not enough doctors to help, little kids with gangrene, etc.. Just sad and sickening. ... http://www.p-h-u-k-e-t.com/forum/ http://203.151.217.23/phuket/listbycountry.php http://www.phuket.com/hotel-status.htm

  10. My Dis sent me this power supply, never used it before, anyway all he had. Its okay, but they say connect the AC power cable to the AC terminals, but there is no indication as to which wire goes where. The AC terminal has Blue and Brown on one side, and white and yellow on the other. It is a normal 2 prong power cord. I know which is which on that, but not which side goes to where as there are no markings, and the install manual sais nothing. Any ideas? thanks Rory
  11. hi, yeah turned out didnt matter for 120VAC. Anyway, brown & blue was Hot, white & yellow was neutral, works okay thanks.

12vDC 3rd and last time indoors

It was the power supply I changed it for a 24VAC and the problem went away, line lock also. Changed it back to the 12VDC power and it came right back. 24VAC is a much better image also. Could have been a bad sinc with the other 12VDC cheap cameras.. Computar lens Varifocal Auto Iris. Rory

    Audio

nothing to do with CCTV, but thats what this particular forum is for my brother is leaving to go to manchester, Uk, next week to pursue his music career as here it there is no industry for rock/modern music. Anyway, here is his music page, he writes songs, plays guitar(trained by my father who has played for years, caribbean, spanish, country), and more recently sings: http://www.gavinknowlesmusic.com/ thanks Rory

12vDC 3rd and last time indoors

Hey guys, its the GE Ultra View Camera, Pointed at a door entrance, Its actually a great image otherwise, it is just doing what another 12VDC cheap dome did to me at another installation, which the Tech Support from Provideo said Id need a 24VAC. Im going down after 3pm to switch the power supply to 24VAC for that camera and let you know what happens. I tried all kinds of different settings on the camera but it did not stop the problem. Its hard to explain, as it comes and goes, like bright, dim, lighter, but its more like a change in the white color than other colors. Its not on the LAN yet as he is supposed to be buying a router today, Dont think he has a printer there either. Rory

    2/3" CCD

yeah i know, but not if he was using a fixed wide angle lens.
  20. the only thing im worried about, is its XP and if that means there may be the same security risks as with a regular PC system? Though I havent seen anything like that in a stand alone yet especially 32 channels .. saw the PDF image and looks good.
  21. it looks good, the big question is, have you tested it yet? Also, I notice they have some with the XP on the end, and some with ASE, any idea what that means? And, do they look as good in real as the photo shop image Thanks Rory
  22. Anyone got a link to Digivue's web site, I got this 5 channel PC card someone wants to get rid of as we installed a Kalatel in its place, just want to see if I can get the software for it, im wiping the PC to reload clean windows XP, etc, and they dont have the software. Its not going to stay in the PC, just want to see if it is still worth selling. thanks Rory

    Field Monitor setup

well there is the OEM one that everyone sells, I had one and it didnt last long as batteries were soldered to the power cable, came in a neat case, but ...anyway, its cheap and same one is sold all over the web. Computar has a good one. More expensive. One thing to note, forget proper focusing with them, they were not designed for that and normally have like 4" screens, use them just to aim the camera, then check out the FM systems Camera Master, which takes care of focusing and much more, not cheap, around $600. Another alternative is the Portable DVD players, that come in hard cases with RCA inputs, they have larger screens like 7 inches. Rory
  24. True, im going to check this Korean one out though, it looks good, 30pps per channel high res, good dealer price from their US branch. We are calling them tomorrow to order one to demo.
