I know some AVI's I download are bad, and Windows Media Player nor DIVX Player can recognise them, but some do work. Maybe it is an un recognised codec?
-
how are you writing them to the CD? If you have XP you can just goto the CD like a Hard Drive and copy it to it, no 3rd party software required. If you want if its not tooo big
-
if it is an AVI file, then you can just dump it on a CDR/RW.

thanks thomas, wanna see if this page loads for you? http://www.bahamassecurity.com/ge/ ActiveX needs to be set to prompt also. It used to work with XP, this /ge/ is the one that use to, maybe I had to compile it on SP2 for the new files for it to work on SP2. I only uses: MSCVRT.DLL WSHOM.OCX VB RUNTIME FILES then 2 custom OCX and 1 custom DLL file. thanks all Rory PS. if you want an IP to test it out PM me ..

yes once you get the same specs, a 24VAC, problem is it wont have any screw terminals so you will have to splice the wire that comes with it. I have used one in the past though as thats all i could get at the time, actually it is still in place working. Rory

When I say design, I mean cosmetics.

When you say Favourite web site, depends on what content you are meaning? For Real Estate, the one im making right now, loaded with features, super fast as loads from cache, and a good business design. For Yellow pages, see link in my sig For a forum, why this one ofcourse! If you mean CCTV, not sure as i generally dont shop online. But the ones I have browsed in the 'past', have never impressed me. Spytown is a pain and doesnt have enough details or images most of the time, or missing prices. SAme with 123securityproducts.com, and others are just too expensive, as im normally online looking for examples of dealer prices. But thats me For a shop to work well, for me, I want to get to the product Im looking for, as soon as I can, and thats where a good internal search engine comes in. Also must be able to browse by brand, and type of product, from one page, such as a drop down. The more products on one page the better, small, not a long page though, less detail, just a title and price, and then if it interests me Ill click for more details. Basically the less pop ups and less navigation needed to get to the product of choice, is what I want in a web site. You've pretty much got all that on your site. Design, i like a good design also, but getting the info, for me personally, is more important, though a good design is important for most others. For a first time user, the CCTV in front of the product categories on the left on your site is slightly confusing, or it takes a little longer to find what is what. After the first visit though you know to look past the CCTV word and then its okay. Home page, for Retail clients anyway, for Pros it doesnt matter, but Id have hot/recommended products from different categories, instead of all the same. Rory

dont know, but to start with you need some meta keywords and description for other search engines like MSN,

herm, thats one heck of a long link dude

actually only google is really concerned about what is on the page, though others are starting it, but it has more to do with page ranking than that when it comes to google. Then for google if you really want to appear up high, only sure way is ad words. For others, their is Overture. Google screwed up with that page ranking thing, as all you have to do is set up tens or hundreds of geocities web sites, and link to them all from each other! Rory

ok, got from reading a couple lamp cord sites from google, on power cord, wide prong, or side with writing, is neatral, smaller one is live, and on panel black is live and white is neutral.. Yep, you're right, it doesnt matter which way it goes, as long as its 120VAC, but if the plug is 220 then pow! Since we have such messed up electric here ill have to do it the right way around, just in case .
-
Same as the US. 115 i guess. I thought it did matter though with high voltage?
-
Ok after a search on google, as I know nothing of high voltage, anyway, the Black is LIVE, and the White is Neutral. Now I just have to know which on the Power cord is which, its been a while since I last connected one. Anyway, which is live, the Large prong or the small prong? thanks Rory

http://www.seco-larm.com/CCTVPSDC.htm this one, the 16 output model. They just dont label what is what on the AC terminal, its just colored high voltage wire, an electrician would know, but thats like pulling teeth this week to get one to come down just for that! thanks Rory

no prob, here is an indian news site .. some different info: http://www.indianexpress.com/ I just heard on the news that the US tried to warn them a large wave was coming but couldnt get hold of the proper authorities.

Herm, since the US media is not really covering it much, check out the BBC news, if you cant get it on TV like we can here (probably because they get Canadian TV also), then check out: (WELL CNN IS COVERING IT LATE NIGHT INTERNATIONAL CNN FINALLY) This is eyewitness accounts, dont know where your sister in law was going but there are alot of news here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/talking_point/4125619.stm Stories from BBC reporters in the area: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/4125837.stm And the main site with all the links, streaming TV, etc: http://news.bbc.co.uk/ South Asia is a major European tourist spot so thats probably why they are covering it more than the US media. Australia also has tons of tourist there also. Havent had a chance to look for any ausie news sites, maybe DVR can post some. Rory
