Hi Mit If AV sais the Nuvico (Vitek) is a good unit, then i believe him, he's been in the industy like forever (no offence AV!). He knows his stuff and has relationships and exeprience with these companies. As for spytown, didnt know they had the 2 on there, seperate, as they are the same DVR, Nuvico is the manufacturer. Also, though I send people over to spytown to check things out, check their warranty policies as they are pretty limited. I cant remember where you are located, but maybe one of us can pioint you to one of your local distributors that will sell you at same price but gives a better warranty. If you can deal with Florida I can give you a number there for kalatel and anything else, but they dont sell the Nuvico or Vitek products, Im sure AV can help you for the Vitek and cameras on that side. If it is me, and its for a home and a choice between Viteck and kalatel, and its $400 diff, I d probably go for the Vitek, hey im for saving money. If you need ALL the features like network software ,etc, I can vouch for the Kalatel. The beginning of this year I hope to try the Vitek myself to sell here locally. Rory -

Yeah it does that, though Ive never used it. PS. thanks AV, will contact you in the new year. I just got the okay from Extreme to buy direct from them by the way, working on some new things in the new year under this new company name, Sure Video Systems. -
Yeah, my 4.5a battery powers a 100ma (approx) keypad, 3-5 days, on the alarm panel. There is a battery Power calculator here: http://www.altronix.com/html/calc.htm

Yeah. thats dealer price on it, I was just checking. Its a great DVR though, powerful network software also, its not Linux, and is very stable also. I have never had to go back to one StoreSafe yet that is out in the field, and they are still online. Rory -

I thought Vitek uses Nuvico Products? For a home user, normally they dont want to spend that kind of cash, at least not here, except for the rich ones. I normally sell them the 4 channel Lan DVR in the HiSharp price range, or the Avtech (under different names) for no LAN and the absolute cheapest. That said, there are a couple new ones that I am checking out, will get one of the TM4 Stand Alone DVR's next week to test, I will get if for the same price as I get the HiSharp, direct from their US office. Look under DVRs and Stand Alone on the following link. Specs are impressive, for the price, and it is a Korean DVR. http://www.uriel.net -
i can make one for the Kalatel DVR is someone would send me a second hand Pocket PC! ? I have the developer software for the DVR and Visual Basic for Pocket PC, just nothing to test it on. Actually, they should have that themselves by now, I guess they catch up to it sometime.

http://www.eclipsecctv.com/WIRELESS.html you Could hook up a power supply and battery in a seperate small enclosure, but still need AC locally. OR, you probably could just power it with something like an Altronix 4.5a Battery as used in Burglar Alarms. that will last quite a while since the camera draw is probably only 200ma. Rory

Yep, Happy Holidays to all.

Anyone ever used these products? www.uriel.net I got pricing from them, shipped via their US branch. Little more expensive than other asian direct products I have seen, but much better specs. Rory
-
Kalatel has that, and Teleplexer. ($$$ though). Speed depends on the phone lines though. Plus the quality can only be so much with Phone line transmission, in otherwords not as good as network. Ive used them a couple times here. Our phone lines suck though! rory

Best All Weather Color Dome Camera for the money
rory replied to Robocam's topic in Security Cameras
Extreme CCTV has a new Day Night Dome camera, new technology of theirs called MX4 (as opposed to their LRX technology). Will post more once I get a demo. I have the spec sheets if any one is interested, awaiting dealer pricing. the Dome is called the EX40. Info only for dealers at this time sorry, until it is released for sale to the general public. -
just hooked up some cameras to one of these, I think it was a 60'? Larger than the 50' Plasma I dealt with the other day, nice large image! Quality is still not that great, as its LCD, but still, huge images! you got to experience that kind of thing .. its sweet its direct into the AV input also. Rory
