and if you need to control it, then you could get the KTD-405 Keypad also, and run a cat5 from the DVR to the keypad location. Rory

best 8+ channel dvr w/remote and dynamic ip??
rory replied to sf1964's topic in Digital Video Recorders
do you mean Kodicom? there is Say Security I believe, a member on this forum called helloder, that represents Kodicom in the US. http://www.saysecurity.com/ Yeah the StoresSafe comes in at around $2200 for a 10 channel, kind of expensive, though its got great remote software, and never crashes. 30pps StoreSafe 16 channel is around $2700. Best thing is the Multi Site software, so if you have a bunch of installed DVRs, you can connect to all of them with up to 16 remote sites and 64 cameras in 1 multi view. That is the same for any Kalatel DVMR. I only sell the 30pps StoreSafe now in the 4 channels, as it is around $1200, and I dont even sell the 10 channel, just the 16 channel StoreSafe Pro 60pps, and the DVMRe-CT (not PRO) 60pps for those slimline installs such as rack mounted, etc. For low end, we now sell the HiSharp branded under a different name, same price, and for a no lan one we use the AvTech also branded under another name. Looks okay, indoors only as it is not low light. High Res though. Rory

best 8+ channel dvr w/remote and dynamic ip??
rory replied to sf1964's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I dont know about the Panasonic, but the Kalatel DVRs are not linux, they are Nucleous, a much more stable RTOS, some less features though. Cheap linux DVRs range in the $1000 for both 8 and 16 channel, its better just to get their 16 channel one time. Mid range linux DVRs run in the $2000 range for a 16 channel. Whats your budget on this? Remember the best will always cost the most. Rory -
other than the 24VAC connections? If so, then I guess. I havent used that power supply yet, this is for a Dome? With Altronix they also do this, they supply the power cord though, 2 leads, and you tie them in accordingly. No splicing should be required though with any Kalatel products, where did you buy it from? Rory

A better looking camera, i have used these and they are great for indoors: http://www.spytown.com/ktc-815c.html And if you want low light: http://www.spytown.com/ktc-840ce.html http://www.bahamassecurity.com/ms/shop.asp?shop=details&id=222&cat=16

http://www.eclipsecctv.com/COMET4.html We have started selling this now for low end jobs. not a bad unit, actually easy to use and looks nice. No LAN, quad DVR only, but still for the money, it is worth it. Dealers can PM me for a Dealer price and link to contact to buy. They are located in Miami. Anyone know who makes this originally? Id like to see if they have a version with LAN. Thanks
-
thanks ill check it out, if so Ill recomend it to our distributor .. Rory

May get less sales, but larger jobs, means more money. Are you getting in as an employee, or partner, or sales rep?? I dont quite understand. Thanks Rory

just installed XP with SP2 on a couple PCs, it has firewall built in and with Nortons Anti Virus all updated, they both work well together. Like it better than SP1 or older, and you all that know me know im not a big XP fan to start with. IE has alot of extra security feaures, but I ended up installing FireFox anyway.
-
can you get the same model, but with LAN?? rory
-
yeah that feature is nice with the Dinions.

You probably got a good deal as it is more than likely one of those units that had been leased to their clients and the client did not pay so the collection agency took it from them? There are alot of those on Ebay and other places. Is it second hand? Rory
-
you can get them with or without a HDD, prices vary. 4ch 40GB is about $320 dealer price, no lan, quad dvr. ($250 without HDD) Rory

Kalatel dvmre 10-ct-320 ethernet settings
rory replied to Robocam's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Wont be any problem doing it that way also, just means a few of those power strips. The mulitple power suppy is mostly cosmetic, but also comes with fuses for extra protection, plus you can ground it. I only ever use Altronix for any power supplies i install, never had a problem with them yet. Quite a few 12VDC jobs i have just used the power supplies that came with the cameras or I have a bunch lying around always available. In fact we just used a Large Radio Power Supply for the job I just did, didnt want to use it but had no choice it was someone elses job and they forgot to order the power supplies. Rory -

rory replied to Robocam's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Plug it baack into the DVR but dont use the Multiple Power Supply, just connect 1 camera at a time with the single transformer, see what each of them does. Rory -
http://americandynamics.net/products/digimux.aspx# doesnt look anything like the Kalatel DVRs ..?? They probably just put their name on the DVMRe as some sought of agreement.

Are they all powered from the same source, also, are they 24VAC or 12VDC. Also, plug each one of them into a TV just to make sure it is not the DVR. Rory
