You would need alot of batteries for solar also. They average around $500 each.

    Gadspot cameras any good?

I wouldnt hurt your head over it though, Ive seen $50 cameras beat $200 cameras, $200 cameras beat $1000 cameras - in one way or another. There's no way to really know without hands on testing, however the additional features the manufacturers put into the camera as the price goes up also helps us to make a decision.

    Gadspot cameras any good?

There are various models, some are cheaper than others. The Super HAD in a $30 camera may not be the same Super HAD in a $200 one. eg. items with a *1 are all Super HAD, check the sensitivity, pixels and image size. http://www.sony.net/Products/SC-HP/pro/image_senser/color_video.html

    Greo systems running slow

check this post: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=26398&p=160854#p160854 Basically shut down Geo and do a full cleanup of the system. I would also reformat the video data drives unless you need some of the video, in that case do a defrag but that can take long if the drives are full. Then do a database repair. Also make sure there are no viruses or other malware. Run Hijack this and send me the results or post it here. Bad hard drive can cause the system to run slow also. What OS is it and was automatic update enabled? (causes more issues than its worth) Check the tweaks in my post on that thread. What else is installed? What are the PC specs and what version Geo?
  7. How so? Is this with RG59 Siamese? (18awg) On one job I deal with there are 12VDC cameras powered at 400' and they work fine. 24VAC will go even much further. I have 24VAC High Powered IR cameras at 300' that draw 1.5A and they work fine also.
  8. Thats a very short distance for RG59 siamese so you would be more than okay.
  9. can they really stop lightning though?
  10. probably Singapore price not US$
  11. Both are junk, buy a megapixel IP camera and be done with it At least that seems to be the popular opinion of late. Far be it for me to not side with the popular crowd ok seriously ... One is high res and one is low res. The low res as always will see more under low light than the high res one. Hence the low res one being 0.05 lux and the high res one being 0.1 lux. Thats pretty much it. More than likely though the specs are rated at faceplate meaning 0.1 lux is 1 lux and 0.05 lux is 0.5 lux, though its hard to take any specs seriously these days - only way to know for sure is to buy it and test it or find someone that has used the camera before.

    Cynics DVR-H3140 login problem

no .. sorry I thought this was for remote video. So basically you dont have the local password to get into the configuration? Will have to wait for someone that knows that DVR then, or see if the manufacturer can help.

    Cynics DVR-H3140 login problem

Yeah but web based would likely use port 80, the desktop software would normally use another port.

    Cynics DVR-H3140 login problem

Make sure the correct port is forwarded for non web based viewing. This can sometime come back with login errors.

    Cynics DVR-H3140 login problem

I found it on the Cynics site, well a H3104 model, but no user manual. I dont know ... you already tried 000000 Is that the device ID in the DVR configuration? Maybe try 1111, or 111111 .... or admin for password. Check the ID in the DVR though to make sure that is correct.
  16. CNB is the manufacturer in Korea .... They are sold all over the web. A decent inexpensive goto camera .. much better than a cheap budget camera ... though not quite the quality of bigger brands like Samsung etc - and not as expensive as them either

    Best cheapest system?

All in one systems are never that great. Best to get the DVR and cameras separate. You would need to run RG59 Siamese or Cat5, the new cameras will have a BNC connection. if you already have cat5 to the existing cameras just buy a balun for each end of the new cameras. You will also need a power supply, multi-output fused boxes are nice but can be above budget, for only 2 cameras, depending on what you get, in most cases with basic 12VDC cameras you can get away with a single 1.5A plug in power supply (join wires together with wire nuts) - make sure to protect everything with Automatic Voltage Regulation though, for example an APC Voltage Regulator or an APC UPS with AVR. Check out Dahua for a low cost full featured DVR. For cameras, as you are upgrading from very cheap ones now perhaps look at something in a mid range pricing, lower than Samsung and Panasonic, but still decent and better than what you had - CNB.

    Indoor Dome Cameras

Just a heads up, the Turret domes should not be painted - reason being that after its painted and you need to adjust the ball, the paint gets scratched off - been there done that. Although, theoretically, if you take it apart completely and sand down all the surfaces to the bare metal then put on a very thin coat, let it dry good for a couple weeks, then it may be okay.

    Indoor Dome Cameras

If you're set on CNB and IR inside then check out this Turret dome, has split glass to stop IR reflection. http://cnbusa.com/en/html/product/product.php?seqx_prod=1169 Otherwise any cheap color IR Turret dome should suffice for inside the small rooms.

Need advise about outdoor LED Motion lights

Though typically visible light is better, that excludes White LED. Example, Infrared LED can be a further distance than White LED (source, Raytec).

My cctv on my website, needs tips

I cant find that DVR listed, we need to know the brand or model to be able to find out what it is capable of, thought it is rare to find a stand alone DVR that supports anything but ActiveX in a web browser. In that case the easiest would be to build it off the activeX control available for that DVR, and tell the visitors that in order to view the demo they need to open it in IE .... or you could even put the ActiveX control in a simple small VB6 EXE and have them download it . just another thought but it would take some programming experience (could outsource it for cheap though). Another way to do it is with something like Justin.tv or livestream.com - basically open IE or the remote software on a PC that is always on, connect to the cameras, then capture the desktop, which will stream it to those sites - then you can embed the video from those sites into a webpage as it is now flash.

    Indoor Dome Cameras

Ive installed both, depends on the client. Some might want a better image in the day say in the main shop area, thats where something like the CNB DFL-20s would come in. Then can put IR cameras in the warehouse etc. If you need a camera pointed at the entrance though will need something with decent BLC or WDR, or just mount it above the door looking in.
  25. Sorry but as per the rules no store links are allowed in posts.
