Test Monitor with no Soldered Battery Wiring
rory posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I need one that has the battery pack attached to the monitor, as the last one just had wires soldered to the battery pack and they came loose after a while. Seems alot that I have seen are like this. -
I know this thread is old, but do you know if the battery pack is loose with soldered wiring, or can it connect to the back of the LCD so no wires are loose? Thats what Im looking for. Thanks Rory

I could be, ill know soon enough, should have one to test in the next week or so, my distributor is bringing some in to sell. At that price, for my appartment, thats all I need anyway Mux or no mux .. Rory

Actually I think the Ikigami 4 channel DVR does. http://www.spytown.com/iksd4chdivir.html One of the few in that price range. I think Fred here has tried them. Rory

here is the manufacturer's web site on their VOIP products: http://www.zyxel.com/product/category.php?indexFlagvalue=1075687935 Darn, if VOIP wasnt illegal over here it would be a neat thing to get into with these new products coming out.

http://www.provantage.com/buy-22090829-zyxel-prestige-2000w-voip-wi-fi-phone-shopping.htm found this, it does direct IP to IP Phone calls if no service is available (if not online). it is open network so works with most VOIP Services I think this is probably what you are looking for?? Its wireless so you would need a wireless network, or maybe they have a wired version of it. http://www.provantage.com/buy-110ZYXE-zyxel-shopping.htm

I know, that doesnt tell us if it is recording each channel in full resolution (multiplexed), or just recording what you are seeing on the screen (quad).

is it a multiplexer DVR or just a quad DVR? Rory
-
why not just use an intercom system? You can then get video with it also, real time.

cant remember off hand, its been about 3 years, its a 1/3". It was nothing special, not a special IR or Day Night lens, as they werent available back then (I think), probably this one as it is a 2.8-12mm Auto Iris lens, I maxed out the focal length to 12mm. I had a 1/2" Camera and lens first which went bad, so I switched it to the Sanyo Day Night High Res 1/3" and the picture was just as good as the 1/2". Obviously now I would use a specific IR Day Night Lens as they are everywhere now. http://www.tamron.com/cctv/prod/13vg2812assq.asp Ill go up to the camera next time Im there (tomorrow maybe) and take a look. One thing though, with the mechanical switch over to BW, it slides over, and with the glow from the IR, I had issues in the beginning where it would keep switching back and forth and then it got jammed, had to take it apart and fix it myself, then got it to work properly by just reducing the glare from the IR Lighting. Took the glare off the ground and higher up, the 2 LED Bulbs were causing too much glare being pointed in the same location, so one is now pointed slightly in one direction and the other is slightly the other, so that both light sources are not centered together.

which brand of coverts were you looking at, there are some very cheesy looking ones out there.

BNC Connectors - Screw-on vs Crimp-on
rory replied to jimbo's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
thats another thing, crimp ons come loose also. With a twist on anyone can simply screw it back on if it comes loose without the need of a crimping tool, new connector, and knowledge of crimping. Where do you get soldered connectors from? I tried pulling off the screw on connectors on my last job and none would pull off, they were screwed on so tight, so I think they will do just fine I dont think you'd want to be on a ladder in a hurricane, I was on one in 35mph winds before the hurricane and that was hell trying to keep the ladder from blowing over and had to hold on to building tight myself ! -
At that time it is 1xExtremeCCTV UF500 IR Bulb, now there are 2 of them. It is also a 12mm lens setting.

Anyone tried this DVR yet? Its a 4 channel with CDRW, Wavelet, 120pps, etc. Waiting on pricing right now:

you might be interested in taking a look at this Wide Dynamic Dome. Im getting one to test soon. http://www.samsungtechwin.com/upload_file/product/35/17409.pdf

have you tried a remote demo yet? if its the same server as provideo's, then i woulndt buy it for remote video.
-
i know, waiting for you to try it and let us know they say they dont have any distributors in the US yet.
-
EDITED: Actually my bad, just looked over their pricing again, they do sell in different quantities, different prices. 1-5, 10+, etc. this is one of the few that have offered it to me like this, means they want to sell. But still, no audio.
-
yep, they are too use to the faster frames I wouldnt mind looking at the GEO, still need to get some funds first though, and I would definately have to write my own remote software GUI I have to get the business moving here first.
-
Yeah I got the pricing and specs on all of them, but none have audio. 480fps recording is not in high resolution mode, only low res mode. They have some good specs, I was interested in the 9100A version, but like i said, no audio, wont work for my jobs as the majority of my clients want audio, even just 1 channel recording at least. Other problem is you cant just buy 1 DVR at a time. Dont know who would use it for Casino Recording in the US at least, as the Casinos there generally stick with well known brands which all now have real time recording units designed for casinos. Eg. Ultrack. Id like to try one of those 9100A DVRs though

Ive used some hidden cameras, from Kalatel, and they are actual working devices in the cases I have used them, such as motion sensors and smoke detectors. They have some of the best looking range of hidden cameras I have seen out as they generally use Sentrol or other GE alarm hardware. http://www.cctvtime.com/shopdisplaycategories.asp?id=835&cat=+Discreet+Cameras+%2D+Premier+Line

120pps in low resolution mode. Ive seen them around in different names, and used one down here recently, cheap is all I can say. I would take the Ikagami over this one, $450 from Spytown, or step up to a better DVR like the StoreSafe for $1200
