Operating System for GEO-600 cards
rory replied to Robert Oaks's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
what about all the annoying windows XP frequent hot fixes with automatic updates? -
I guess you are talking about Bullet cameras and fixed domes. If you dont have screw type terminal blocks, then just splice and tape, just as good once done neat and proper Other Methods are soldering and heat shrink tubing.

Anyone know of any product that will provide internet on a lear jet while in the air? Same thing like is used on commercial jets for internet. The client will pay whatever it takes. Rory

3MB upload or just download??

yep, also baxall, & DM, but DM's remote software doesnt do mulit-site as far as i know. I think NICE is in the UK area?http://www.nice.com/about/nice_Main_offices.php Im using GE Kalatel myself for a gated community, mulisite software, using a bunch of 4 channel StoreSafes, with a long range wireless network, so they are recording on site. It lets you view 64 cameras in one single multi view, this is sweet on a 30" LCD.

problem with any DVR is the price on the client side, depends on the market you are going to be targeting. You may also want to look at IP cameras, non expensive ones, where you can just plug in 1 or 2 at the location, and remotely monitor them all, but the software normally isnt cheap. Also, you would need to look at the laws also as remember the internet doesnt always work, and if something happens and you are down or the clients internet is down for some reason. In other words the internet is not yet 100% fool proof.

What no IE One thing i really hate with lots of web site these days, ShockWave, its soo annoying. Been on MSNBC.com lately, the pages hang as they load shock after shock and gawd knows what else they are loading....! I mean thats like putting an activeX control on your home page...I like activeX for certain things, from trusted sites, as like you said it has alot of power, but it should only be used for back end applications.

Has anyone used this type of wire yet?
rory replied to rory's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
you've used a passive balun to 4300' and it works? or was that a total of 4300' along other wires. -
they dont sell the Ganz cameras. Have you tried any of the Panasonic Wide Dynamic cameras? The day night versions look interesting.

Hi Actually the 870ex is not a real day night camera, it is an Exview low light color. The 7706DNV is a true day night with a mechanical IR cut Filter, slightly higher price. If you still wanted an exview try the CVC-637EX as its almost half the price, fixed lens though: http://www.spytown.com/provcvc637ex.html Or in a Dome: http://www.spytown.com/provcvc724ex.html http://www.spytown.com/cvc7245exhea.html if not too concerned about lighting or vandals then provideo also has a CVC-646HR High res fixed color dome, not bad picture for the $116 price tag. Its new so hard to locate on the web but dealers are selling them now. 1/3" 3.6mm, 550TVL Color, 0.5 lux. If you are concerned with the back lighting and want a day night at the same time, take a look at the panasonic day night wide dynamic cameras: Price is higher though:: http://www.spytown.com/panwvandwvhi.html Or a normal wide dynamic camera like the Ultraview from Kalatel, approx $360: http://www.geindustrial.com/cwc/products/ge-interlogix?pnlid=9&famid=63&catid=1083&id=UltraView&lang=en_US Other camera types: http://www.spytown.com/search--by-part-number-kalatel-traditional-cameras.html

yeah except for the color looks like the same DVR
-
arghh, they are selling COP-USA cameras! Doesnt say much for the DVRs.
-
I dont like the GUI though, you have to tick a box to view a camera which then has to pop up in a seperate window, not very user friendly. But i guess if it is cheap?
-
If I have an avtive X Control, can I write it into Java as an applet? I tried one of those VB to Java convertor software but it just gave errors. Any ideas? Rory
