id like to try the software, the main software, without the card, not to actually connect to the card, but to just see what it looks like, like I can with all other PC card software, local and remote. it should be able to tell whether a card is installed or not, and open the software non the less. All i get is a keypro error.

Uhh, with a standalone, and other PC cards, I can see the software, I just cannot connect, but at least I can see what the software looks and feels like.

i want one of those camera masters, do they work as good as they appear to do? How good is the focus feature? Also, how much does it cost? Thanks Rory

Welcome Robert, very throrough web site, lots of products Will take a look through it. Rory

Hi It appears to do that. I played back recorded video from 3 cameras, 1 with motion, real time, when the other gets motion at the same time, it slows down slightly, then when all 3 cameras have motion at the same time, it will slow down more, then goes back to real time when 2 of them are empty and only one has movement. So I guess it does something similar. Ofcourse it doesnt give me an exact pps number during playback, so its hard to tell exactly, this is a feature lacking in their remote software, that I would like, will see if there is a way to grab this from the DVR and at least put it in my own software

What if you just want to look at the software?

Aiphone has the best intercom systems, but I dont think they have any wireless systems, besides wireless remotes. As for wiring, good luck Maybe you can get the wire down from an attic into a closet and come out on the next side of that, in the closet wire is not as noticable, and you can use wire molding if needed. If its sheet rock walls, even easier, use a snake, or try existing conduits such as those for telco wires. Not sure if you are talking about video and audio, or just audio. Rory

You mention it is a big lens, what type, age, etc.? Most new lenses are very small now, and cost next to nothing in the US.

Ok, I have a Camera that uses 12VDC (mini dome), and a Wireless Transmitter that uses 12VDC 500ma. The camera can use around 250-500ma. Can i use a single 750/1000Ma power supply, or even better, can i power at least one of them, maybe the video TX off of my Ademco Alarm power? See there is only one socket in the location, and its a dual socket, one is the plug for the alarm, and there is one free. The socket is mounted up high on the wall, so nowhere to put a power strip. Any ideas on this? Whether I burn up either of the camera or TX, no big deal, as they are both old and second hand, just dont want to start a fire! tanks Rory

another reminder of why i use standalones now, not saying pc cards are bad, just saying stand alones are ready tested and they are just plug & play, well, most of them. Rory

I dont know, a paypal account? You get a free camera though Well it actually just cost you $325! I guess at least they are helping and providing a usefull service, in the long run.

what are the cameras rated at, you say you are using 13v? It may not make much of a difference, but you may want to try a 12v also. Do they roll when you plug them in one at a time, and have your tried them seperately on a TV or CCTV monitor?

do you have a cctv mux, quad, or another card you can test it with?

"Lastly.. some dvr cards interlace the signals at a frame rate that is a straight division.. therefore 100FPS on 10 cams is 10FPS per camera, but some others like GEO etc can take the cameras that arent activated by movement and use the spare frames to move to a camera that has movement... for example. 100FPS card with 10 cameras without Buffering with 5 cameras moving means those 5 cams get 10FPS... A system with Buffering has 100FPS with only 5 cams leaving 50FPS that is spare that means each camera gets roughly 20FPS (actually its more like an extra 7FPS but that is another story)... This is a downfall in Standalone machines because most of them cant do the "On The Fly" adjustment. " This is I guess what the Kalatel standalone does, if only 1 camera has movement, it records in real time, or as many as do have motion, they split up the total pps, at least on the all in one units, the single channel with a mux are not as good in that area.

added more above Most in the government dont have a clue how to use a computer, but its them pressuring the cable company, who is by the way, stealing TV signals from the US stations and not paying, which will give all your info out. See if they do, then the governmenr rubs their back and lets them conitinue doing what they are doing, with TV i mean. Cable Tv here is another major reason the US is pressureing the government to enforce the copyright laws, in fact rumours are going around that they would close down if these laws woukd ever be enforced, as they could not pay what they own to date! darn, id be stuck with dial up or the government run DSL monopoly! Basically monopolies are legal here, thatswhat I want to create Microsoft should have come down here, they could have taken over the world...or did they.. -

alot of people have been asking, what if we are on IM and want to use the mic? That is in essence VOIP!? I dont think this new law will last long, it was made by a group of head honchos at the local telco monopoly which is also a government company, they must just want extra $$ in their back pockets, its how things go here, alot of coruption and paying off, and moreso, its who you know, and where they work. I mean, not using a turning signal is illegal here, but about 99% of Bahamians dont use one, most cars dont have break lights, and about 50-60% of drivers dont have actual licences that they took a test (pay $50 and you get one without a test), then there is car insurance, alot of people simly dont have it (wrote my car off twice, second time the guy didnt have drivers licence, insurance, and it wasnt even his car, and the car was not insured or licenced, thankfully I had fully comprehensive). Gor charged both times, wansnt my fault both times. I drive all day every day and see a traffic cop about once a month. I got attacked with home made axxes and the guys stole my vehicle, they got 17 months in prison, and were out in 8, where the law is 20 years for attempted murder, which is essentially was. Basically, our legal system and laws, down here, our both outdated, and one big joke!
