Anyone Use Video Insight? http://demo.videoinsight.net
rory replied to joe4's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
actually, well gambling is illegal, so we cant use the local or online casinos, legally, guns are illegal also, its a wonder though since there are armed robberies every day. SatTv, well we are like canada in that area, since the new cards came out, well you know what i mean. But yes, no US/CAN sat companies will sell their service down here because the governmenr will not enforce intl copyright laws, there are guys selling ripped DVDs (terrible quality I might add - like downloaded off kazza) in the burger king drive through line! Our local VCR rental chain rents pirated movies which are even worse quality. Until the government enforces copyright laws, we are stuck with what we have. Ofcourse everyone has started to switch to dis net now, as they can still hck the cards, but im legit personally, there are people here that sell it semi legit, in other words they pay in the US and we pay them here for their service to set it up for us, all legal, not the D*s service, just so they can get us some TV. We just cant pay the us/can companies from here. I really dont blame them though, but eventually the government after alot of intl pressure will cave in and go the right way, hopefully before sanctions are imposed!! Oh yeah, I just found out it is illagal for Bahamians to invest in foreign stocks! Good job I am half British It is supposedly some old colonial law, many of which they have not yet changed, in other words, England changed most of their old laws many many years ago, we still have them. -

you'd think right! yes cable charges a fortune to get HBO etc, Sat is not legal here, so we are in the hole, at this time, unless we have alot of $$. No Paradise Island isnt what it is made out to be, i live on the east side of Nassau (eastern rd), but Id rather live out west actually, less traffic. -

One of our members here is from Video Insight, if I remember correctly. Rory -
alternatively, rated to -22 degrees F, vandal resistant, but more expensive, and can get it with built in Infrared, in a seperate window. Extreme may be a little too expensive for just a freezer application. Can they just mount a camera outside the entrance? If not, the extreme will work, but get the BW lower res (420TVL) to save money. The EX-10 uses Micro lens only, but from the specs it is a neat camera, corosion resistant, all in one. I wouldnt really use the LRX models, unless you are really looking to use it with Infrared, though the BW LRX would be good for the lowest light. The LRX is Extremes version of an Exview camera, low light, lower LUX than their standard cameras. I dont know if the Freezer will have a light when the people go in or not, I think they do? 420TVL should suffice, enough to see the persons face. Only thing is, its not really vandal resistant. Here are the EX-10 part numbers, get your dealer/retailer to price the one you want:: ----------------------------------- Extreme CCTV - EX-10 http://www.extremecctv.com/products/index.cfm?img=10&area=1 Waterproof, Plug & Play:: IP67, NEMA 6 equivalent, Wall Bracket, U-Bracket, Harness Extreme Temperature -60 to + 60 deg C (-76 to +140 deg F) Standard ======= EX10S.3xx Mono, 1/3" CCD 420 TVL w/ BLC / micro-lens, 12/24 VRB, Wall Bracket EX10S.6xx Mono, 1/3" CCD 600 TVL w/ micro-lens, 12/24 VRB, Wall Bracket EX10C.3xx Color 1/3" CCD 380 TVL w/ BLC, micro-lens, 12/24 VRB, Wall Bracket EX10C.7xx Color 1/3" CCD 480 TVL, BLC 12/24 VRB, micro-lens, Wall Bracket LRX (Extremes Version of an Exview Low Light) ================================= EX10SX.4xx Mono, 1/3" LXR, 420 TVL w/ BLC, 12/24 VRB, micro-lens EX10SX.6xx Mono, 1/3" LXR, 600 TVL w/ BLC, 12/24 VRB, micro-lens EX10CX.4xx Color 1/3" LXR, 380 TVL, BLC, 12/24 VRB, micro-lens EX10CX.6xx Color 1/3" LXR, 480 TVL, BLC, 12/24 VRB, micro-lens -------------------------------------- Options: Micro-Lenses available - 1.9 mm, 2.5 mm, 2.9 mm, 3.6 mm, 4.3 mm, 6.0 mm, 8.0 mm, 12.0 mm, 16.0 mm, 25.0 mm Replace xx with: 01 = 1.9 mm, 02 = 2.5 mm, 03 = 2.9 mm, 04 = 3.6 mm, 05 = 4.3 mm, 06 = 6 mm, 08 = 8 mm, 12 = 12 mm, 16 = 1 C3S.xxx Cable Pigtails - 2 Pair Shielded: xxx = feet for EX10 $ per foot --------------------------------------

"The LTC 2605/91 Video Manager provides advanced switching capability in system configurations that incorporate either Divar digital video recorder devices or System4 series multiplexer devices. The unique video management capability of this unit reduces the number of monitors required in the system. This way a single control station can easily control up to sixteen connected devices." Is this what you mean? If so, this has been around in CCTV for years, and Kalatel has had it for many years before phillips started CCTV. With the Kalatel units, you dont need a seperate video manager. You can link up to 32 keypads and DVMRs over RS485. You can also use multiplexers with seperate single channel DVRs also. So if you had 10 systems, you could still only use 1 monitor and 1 keypad if you wanted, or any combination of them, up to a total of 32 devices. They are all rackmountable. You can also rackmount DVSe Storage units, that hold as much as 2TB disk space each, as many as you want. You can pretty much do anything with the Kalatel Units, but it is the price that is high. They have full matrix systems, and more, it depends what you need. Rory

Okay, what does phillips have that kalatel doesnt?
-
When you say live, what exactly do you mean? Rory
-
yep, thats what I do now. I mean, they must work or they wouldnt make them, but never worked for me, as yet :-0 I must say, though it costs, the UF 500 is impressive, along with a day night camera, or even the UF-100 if you dont need the UF-500 distance, or price! Thats the UF 500 in the image above. Rory
-
By the way, you can easily add their IR LED to that also if you wanted. Rory
-
ok, you got the 6mm BW EX26, 420TVL, no IR, is this correct? If so, it comes with a U-Mount bracket included, but you want the wall mount right? And it looks like it is black in color? EXMB.023 = Wall Bracket Die Cast http://www.spytown.com/exmb-023b.html http://www.spytown.com/exmb-023w.html B = Black W = White Hope this helps. Any more questions let me know. Rory

How many? There is the multi screen built into the new wavereader, up to 16 DVMRes, 64 total cameras at once on one screen. You can also connect to as many others as you want using multiple instances of the software. Now that said, Phillips DVRs are windows 2000, last time i checked, so they would have more features in this area, but I dont think they have a 64 way multi screen feature in them. If i think I know what you mean, having a folder view on the left with multiple DVRs, and the video from each one on the right frame? I have looked at some other PC based ones, and this software can easily be created for Kalatel DVRs also, havent had a need for it, but actually do now as I have multiple DVRs around town, and more adding. I will throw a demo together and post it here for you to check out. PS. Still working on that search and save to 60D file function, no luck as yet, but another day or so will know more. Rory

a disclosure, yep, that sounds like GE, i had to sign one for the developers activeX control they sent me. If Geo could give , even sell, an activeX control, for their cards, and standalones, now that would be nice! Since it will still only work with their products, they have nothing to loose, even they can make sure the developers put their name on it somewhere. Have any of you tried to use their ocx files in a dvelopment enviroment, if they have any. Alot of the demos I have tested have them as activeX controls, and in development, I can simply add them in and figure them out, but I dont have any hardware to test, plus there are so many i installed i dont even remember which one is which. GEs WaveReader control, wont allow use in development, which is why you need a seperate control, once again, limiting the developers.

Hi What cameras are they, ill give you the part number of the mount you need and then we can find somewhere to get them from. Rory
-
Thats good to know, ill take a look over there.
-
great, if you get a chance to get it on a DVR, see if you can post an image so we can see what the camera image looks like. I remember that, so the Optiview worked out good? Rory
