Im looking for a outdoor dummy camera, with built in scanning, any ideas, i have seen 2 that will work, but dont have the scanning option, i have seen an indoor version with the scanner, with motion scanning, but i need outdoor as its by the ocean. Yes the clients requested 20 dummy cameras with blinking lights, and scanning if they can get it, along with a couple PTZs and a couple IR cameras, they are more interested in deterrent than capture in this case. Thanks Rory

Vigilant, looks like a small pc company, so no would not be a choice for something like a casino. Although their product specs seem good, just never heard of them and their web site does not make them look all that good. Lorinex may, their information does not explain what they can do well enough though. Nice on the other hand, has 96 30pps inputs per unit, and 24 audio inputs, so that one is good. However, the question is how many days recording can you get with 96 cameras on their internal hard disk. Clear Cast has 8 inputs per unit (capture station), guarantees 30 days at 30pps real time. You get longer recordings with an option of different storage devices. There are 8 video & 8 audio per unit, and rackmounted the software supports thousands of cameras. Dont know if this helps, but unless the clear cast price goes down I doubt I will be selling that at a luxury home, as the features it has are not needed in any home. Maybe someone else with more experience with PC or enterprise systems and these name brands mentioned can give a better opinion on this all. They all actually look good, would like to know some approx pricing on all of them, comments, etc. Rory

ill take a look at those mentioned and their enterprise products, and get back to you on that.

all the cameras i now use are at least 480TVL. Hunt is good though for low end, they are similar to Provideo, ive used both in the past.

You buy it from Asia? How many do you buy, what warranty do you give the client, do you send it back and how long do you have to wait for a replacement?
-
not the same one im talking about, im meaning the 16 channel DVR-16/IP. its from a different manu than the one you carry. Also, if you put the Provideo side by side with a Kalatel, on 2 CCTV monitors with the same cameras, the Provideo cannot touch the Kalatel's high quality. Like the saying goes, you really do get what you pay for.

Yeah, I have a colleague that wants to sell these Provideos as cheap alternatives, Im trying to find him a better product, cheaper or at least better and still cheap, all in one like this. The recording is 30fps and the display is 480fps right? Or is that only on the 16 channel? -

also, anywhere to demo the remote software? Everyone has a computer monitor, thats a nice option. 1Gb flash is a nice option also. Who sells them in the US? -

nowhere to buy it from though, no fl distributors carry geo. Plus id need a whole new PC to go with that. anyway, too many other expenses right now, jeep, new business, etc .. its endless.. If i bought everything I wanted to test, id have to be rich -
cool Wave Vue is mine actually, Wave Reader is from Kalatel Let us know when you have a demo up, this sounds good, as more and more people only want remote video.

is there anywher i can download the GEO windows App from to demo? Id like to take a look, more for the central station monitoring side of it. thanks Rory -
Are you sure? IF so, didnt know that There is no market for them down here so Ive never really looked into it too much. Besides, no DVR or hard disk in a vehicle would last on our 'so called' roads down here! We dont have lines, not to mention a pothole every few feet.

12 cameras... Kalatel has a 12 camera Remote Phone Device, direct point to point, but you only can view 1 camera and audio at a time. OZ Vision does 12 also. TeleEye, etc, Kalatel has an 8 camera streaming broadband device here also, not cheap, and i have one sitting here right now, best to go with a DVR if you can afford it, more remote features. http://www.ozvision.com/New2004/ozline12cs.html Then there is the IP camera route, just for remote viewing. The streaming video devices, like by Kalatel & Phillips, Id go another route, as they dont have much of any features, though their DVRs remote video is great.

GE has a line called Bus Secure, its on their web site. Silent Witness is also very popular.

the only thing I cant do, yet, is adjust the camera display, so i can have something like 8 way, 7 way, etc, instead of just 1, 4, 16, but im working on that. -

Like I said, thats WaveReader, but you can write your own software to support as many as you like. Its all client software, same thing. Just depends what you program into it. You can get any info you want from the DVR, and use that any way you wish.
