you can buy the lenses with the option of an ND filter, so perhaps that is it.

To begin ... I am not talking about IP cameras ... so now that is covered .... I agree somewhat ... having used alot of cheap and mid range and even $2000 cameras. 1-Cheap $30 IR Bullet with better image than a 600TVL Color IR Varifocal Bullet (neither are TDN), plus easier to install - however, get a cheap $30 camera from another distributor and it could be terrible, been there done that. 2-$200 TDN IR Bullet with a better day image than a $2000 Extreme IR Camera - so its $1500 for the infrared?? 3-I had batches of cheap and expensive cameras where some are better quality than others, some can focus good, some just suck, some go bad some dont. course if you only spend $30 on a camera then one can easily afford to throw it out if it goes bad, compared to say a $2000 camera! But yes to get higher quality you still have to pay for it, the really good quality cameras arent cheap. Also Features cost money - eg. that $30 camera has no settings, you get what you get and thats that, no adjustments can be made for different mounting locations or applications - no BLC adjustments, no AGC settings, IRIS settings, gamma, shutter, etc. Powerful Infrared costs money too, well if its part of a camera. Ive used $350 IR Bullets and their IR still comes nothing close to that from a $1500+ Extreme IR camera. Problem especially these days is the specs mean nothing, absolutely nothing at all, and camera pricing can be up and down like a yo yo depending who puts their name on it. I see the OP mentioned some rebadged brands, in those cases it will always cost more than it is actually worth, though perhaps some clients appreciate the extra long warranties (not me).

but they loose all the time because the company car doesnt do any damage to the bigger vehicle, and then they get fired for damaging their bosses car
-
my experience has been the biggest vehicle always wins! plenty company cars met my jeep's iron bumper when failing to yield.

if i shift my gears fast enough im sure i can beat it nice thing bout this is when you are on E you can just chuck in $3 even at $5.39 a gallon and still drive around for a day other than that it breaks the back on these roads.

not sure about the millage, I just know its cheaper than my cherokee I average $40 a week.

800mb? Did you try convert it to Mp4 first? that normally makes it much much smaller. I use handbrake for that. Then upload to youtube is faster also. You can select not to make it public but can still share the link, or have it ask for a password.

i miss my jeep though, which is alot safer! just needs the tranny fixed but thats $2000 here.

except we climb in the attics here, not many houses like that here .. some on the out islands though im sure. the animals we find in the attics here are rats ! but worse than that is the exposed high voltage from electricians or handymen that dont follow any code ... oh yeah and I got a nail in my head twice from attic work .. its a nightmare up there!

Regarding the save issue, I have the same problem with some code in one of my programs, on XP it works fine, Win7 it didnt. Ended up that its because the actual source code I use for the capture side of it wont work with a 64 bit OS, or basically I just have to change it so it does. Another issue though you might be having is a permission issue trying to save to the C drive location. Try changing the location to the Documents/User data folder or the Desktop.

its also parked on the wrong side of the road, and on a straight line

installed alot of the 30 watt sirens in my alarm installer days ... loud things, never installed them in residential communities for that reason. With huge warehouses we would just put one on either side (2 total) and that was loud enough. One client I took over had one though at their house, with a voice driver and it not only squealed but it also said the police have been called. Got rid of that voice driver after a while as it got annoying anytime a staff member opened the window to do some work without disarming first (AC on 24-7). At one time i had 2x 20 watt sirens and 2 indoor sirens all mounted outdoors at my 15-25' appt. years of hurricanes eventually killed the indoor ones, sold one 20 watt and have just one 20 watt left! Most homes had 15 watt outdoor sirens installed.

far as I can tell internal networks will still work without it?
-
nah i was serious id just call them tugs and punks

that car wouldnt last long here actually they rent those to tourists here ... but that camera would be gone in a flash! and to get the camera, they'd just take the whole car and strip it. btw whats the crims, is that like a UK version of the crips?

Does it come with desktop software and if so did you try that yet? Running anything inside a browser will always have its limitations. How were you initiating the network update? Normally to do a network update you still need a file, and you use the network firmware software to send the update.

Why does my CCTV always flicker when it begins recording?
rory replied to CCTV Dood's topic in General Digital Discussion
could be alot of things. for starters poor software design. or incompatible hard drive (eg. green HDD) Is this a stand alone DVR or do you run software on your computer? -
Are you using a USB flash drive, and if so is it formatted as FAT/32 and not NTFS?
-
Alot of DVR's ActiveX doesnt work with IE9 yet.

Wiring a CNB VCM24VF with 12VDC? (noobie question)
rory replied to Red55's topic in Security Cameras
Polarity does not matter with that camera. You can put red and black on either side of the green connector. -
Better yet .. who needs multiview buttons with a 4 channel DVR?? Hit the F key for full screen switch . . (modified UserLogin.ini to change the hotkey) video windows are bigger, but the same aspect ratio. ok this takes longer to make as have to change all the positions in the ini files as well as resize images. and remove the X icon so they cant exit (easily)

some new skins I just made .. the basic color ones are the easiest to do ... only took a couple minutes. will put them online for download soon. any ideas for other skins let me know.

This is ActiveX inside IE right? Have you tried Compatibility view? Also check the activeX security settings in IE. Here is an IE8 how to PDF for Compatibility view for another DVR brand, but same should apply: http://www.mediafire.com/?9e96o4w5iew6yss And an example of the IE settings also for another DVR brand, but should be the same: http://www.mediafire.com/i/?f1xwkaty9pocg2i
