Camera choice for Exacqvision
rory replied to bankingguy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Whats a good low light Avilgon camera? -
Camera phones are still cameras, they still record you, in fact many go on youtube and facebook, even more privacy intrusion than a couple cops looking at it. wall mart, still cctv, they are still watching you. They arent just going to watch the product as the product just doesnt up and walk away, they are watching people. cameras on the streets primarily to be used in the case of a crime against a citizen, sounds like something much more useful to us citizens than being put on youtube to be ridiculed or be watched by store security as well go in and out of changing rooms. stop worrying about random laws .. just be a good citizen (like not a criminal) and there is nothing to fear.

the 2nd one looks like it has issues, as if the cover is off or something. You might be able to point the LEDs outward more. Sometimes they have a filter built into the glass on the cover. btw this is "good" illumination this isnt bad either for a 10 year old IR camera (30 degree beam) Newer IR camera with 80 degree IR beam (5mm zoom) and see the video of an IR bullet camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9w_KYky3BI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INoH7_a_FT0 but these might be better comparisons for your application: no IR: Then with...

What brand power tools do you buy your workers?
rory replied to Tailbone215's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
why did you leave it on the roof? could only dream of a sears or home depot here ... looked around for a hammer drill the other day and cheapest Makita is still around $500. Milwaukee is in the $700 bracket. -
better off with Samsung at that price range. that neverfocus camera itself actually looks cheaper than CNB but costs more. Also its fake WDR (digital). Alot of brands are using Fake WDR now. Otherwise the specs are much the same as most TDN domes and bullets on the market today.

I must say though and not sure how this is elsewhere, but here we need to fix our legal system before we start putting CCTV everywhere, even if they catch them they will be right out on bail or get charged for manslaughter instead of murder as they do in most cases now. And one thing that I found ridiculous the other day was our chief of police saying he thinks no citizen should have a gun, that is what he and the police are for. 20 years ago, cops didnt have guns here. Meanwhile iron bars on the windows and doors are the order of the day as deadly home invasions increase and the murder rate doubles this year. Gun or no gun, I am never without some kind of weapon, the cops cant be everywhere.

lastly. anyone that has problems with public CCTV cameras must also have problems with it in stores and also problems with cell phones and digital cameras - cant have it one way and not the other. If you want to get rid of CCTV cameras then also get rid of cell phones and digital cameras, and go tell wall mart take their cameras down as its impeding on your privacy.
-
Then you are in a very good area. Cant walk around midday here without a 50-50 chance of having multiple issues. And having watched American TV shows it would appear its much worse there. Then again a couple Canadian TV shows makes Canada out to look like South Central .. so
-
it cant be a very bad neighborhood then, as bad implies there would be issues, eg. stabbings, fights, shootings, etc.
-
I'd like to see CCTV on every single street corner in the country (but only if I get paid to install it )
-
Sure we have alot of violent crime here especially for how small we are, but from reports I have seen the US has more crime than most places in the world. Im sure not everyone in the US live in gated communities?
-
Nobody ever PLANS on being a victim, most go their whole life without incident until they are attacked or worse murdered. Most people use cameras for security, and personal security generally comes before securing property. I think most people will want to see a murderer of themselves or a loved one off the streets so they dont do it again, there is no way monsters like that should be allowed to get away with their crimes or exist in society. I dont see what the issue is, the only people that should fear this are the criminals. I mean what happens when someone looks at you on the street? What if a cop looks at you in public, do you question their motives?

Here is the Bosch Link: EX85 I checked exacq but they dont have it listed. Doesnt seem Bosch have anything but basic setup software. Any ideas? Clients want this kind of Camera. Cant be separate IR in this case.
-
I doubt you would think that way if you had ever been a victim of brutal crimes where the criminals were never caught, as I have been and many others have been even worse. I certainly dont have cameras to protect assetts, its so if Im murdered the criminal doesnt get away with it, in fact thats the reason Im in this industry to begin with, nothing else really matters, property can be replaced.
-
Yeah it does, it helps to find and lock the criminal up so they dont do it again. Its the same reason we have cameras anywhere. The camera is the witness. I can recount countless incidents where CCTV on the streets would have proved useful, many incidents that happened to myself.
-
or crime for that matter, dont they have like 1 bar fight a year or something?
-
I wish they had CCTV on the streets here, most times there are conveniently never any witnesses to all the violent crimes. "Privacy" is not to be expected in a "Public" place, and people have the freedom to move to an area without cameras if they so choose

To repair the database you have to close out all geo programs, check the system tray and click on their icons to bring them up then exit them. For starters you might want to add some more memory, especially if using 8.3+ At least double the RAM, 2GB has been the minimum for a couple years now. Also for tweaking the actual system:- Skip down to "Tweak System" for just the post install tweaking. The following is for Windows XP SP2 or SP3. INSTALL WINDOWS Custom Windows XP: DRV Lite - this creates a custom Nlite setup of Windows XP. This is heavily tweaked and components removed, adjust to your needs if required. If you decide to install full Windows XP instead, remove Internet Explorer from Add/Remove Programs, Components, and under Internet Options turn Security and Cookies to high. INSTALL DVR SOFTWARE Install Hardware Drivers and DVR Software prior to doing any of the following tweaks. Make certain that everything runs well, then create an image of the system incase you need to restore. Note: we will be disabling Microsoft's System Restore. TWEAK SYSTEM Reg Tweaks: Download (with sharing enabled) Download (with sharing disabled) To edit these files, right click "Edit", then change values and save. Please note, these are for systems with high memory (1GB+). Prefetch is disabled in the above reg files. To enable Prefetch, right click EDIT on the reg file and make: "EnablePrefetcher"=dword:00000001 The Task Scheduler Service must also be enabled for Prefetch. Services: Tweak Windows XP services by enabling or disabling certain services. Includes an option to set the Windows XP default services. Click Here for further information. OR, manually XPSP3 Services List for a PC DVR (eg. Geovision), this is for Full XP SP3: Click Here to download a PDF showing the services configuration. Note: some features like printer and networking (not TCP) are disabled. Manual Tweaks: • Control Panel, System, Hardware, Hardware Profiles, Select the first profile listed if I dont select a profile in ... 0 seconds. • Control Panel, System, Hardware, Driver Signing, Ignore. • Control Panel, System, Hardware, Windows Update, Never Search. • Control Panel, System, Advanced, Performance, Settings, Visual Effects, Adjust for best performance. • Control Panel, System, Advanced, Startup and Recovery, Settings, Time to Display list of Operating Systems, 3 seconds • Control Panel, System, Advanced, Error Reporting, Disable • Control Panel, System, Remote, Uncheck both • Control Panel, System, Automatic Updates, Turn Off • Control Panel, System, System Restore, Turn Off • Control Panel, Display, Theme, Windows Classic • Control Panel, Display, Desktop, Background, None • Control Panel, Display, Desktop, Color, Black • Control Panel, Display, Screen Saver, None • My Computer, Right Click System Drive C:, Uncheck Indexing, Ignore. Windows Firewall: Control Panel, Windows Firewall - add all your DVR Ports. TCP/IP Port Filtering: Control Panel, Network Connections, TCP/IP, Properties, Advanced, Options, TCP/IP filtering, Options. Check "Enable TCP/IP Filtering", Select "Permit Only" for TCP Ports, UDP Ports, IP Ports. Under TCP Ports click Add to add all your DVR Ports. Click Okay to exit, you will need to restart the PC for changes to take effect. Note: For Antivirus and Windows updates you may need to leave this alone. Windows Startup: Most startup items can be removed from Windows start up. Click the "Start button", "Run", type msconfig, click "Ok" Click on the "Startup" tab and uncheck everything - if you have Tweakui installed leave that. Leave the DVR software (eg.GV-1480, IR Remote, etc). If using an Antivirus you will need to leave that as well. Scanners and All in one printers will also need to stay on start up. Cleanup: Run CCleaner to remove temp files and fix any registry issues. Optionally run CleanUp for a more thorough cleaning. Defrag your drives. Image your System drive and create a Restore disk. TROUBLESHOOTING Run BootTimer to check your Windows XP boot time. Slow boot times? Run this script to check start up items. Hardware issues? Run this report for Motherboard and Video information. Having major issues? Try the following -Goto Start, Run, msconfig, Boot.ini - check /BOOTLOG and click apply then Restart -Download HiJackThis from TrendMicro, run a scan and save the report (dont send to Trend Micro) -Goto the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, and Right click save log file for both Application and System. -Goto the Services and Export the list. -If you used Nlite, save the Nlite Session file somewhere (not the _U one). -the Boot log file will be called: NTBTLOG.TXT and is in the Windows Folder -Also check the Setup Error log and if not empty, save that - C:\Windows\setuperr.log Send the files to an expert to evaluate. ..

i found that focusing really cheap cameras rarely makes a difference .. sometimes its down to other factors like really cheap lenses and chips
-
they dont autofocus, that would be an expensive camera that does that like with a zoom lens They just come focused to a particular zoom. Also they dont always come focused properly, many cases I refocus fixed lens cameras also.
-
Are you talking board lenses or CS mount, or other? KT&C have pinhole board lenses. http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=508

Probably around $300 retail in the US, maybe more or even less depending where you get it from. I want to test the Samsung next, thats a little more expensive.

these are a couple video clips from when I tested the new Eclipse 598HIM TDN IR camera First what the area looks like from a color camera with no light. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdqD6TDeuIs Now the 598HIM in color, switching over to Infrared http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9w_KYky3BI Now the 598HIM just in Infrared http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INoH7_a_FT0 It wasnt bad at night, but it did have a spot near the center that was always blurry under IR. I think I had it zoomed out to the widest angle, 2.8mm. Overall it was the poor daytime image that killed it for me. It is a TDN with True colors, but the daytime just seemed too digitized, unrealistic - seen this with alot of recent TDN IR Bullets. Manufacturer link: http://www.eclipsecctv.com/ECL-598HIM_security_camera.html Manufacturer Specs: 1/3" Color Sony high resolution CCD Resolution: 600 TV lines or more Minimum illumination 0.0 Lux (w/IR on) Digital slow shutter, Sens-Up: x2 - x256 Vari-focal lens 2.8-11mm DC auto-iris (F1.2) Automatic infrared array (850nm) IR Range: 60+ feet

well with a 3Ghz Core 2 Duo with Mpeg4 ASP it was hitting over 80% CPU with only 10 cameras. Switch back to 8.3 it was half that. With 8.3 you also have Geo Mpeg4 which is even less processing. No Geo Mpeg4 anymore with 8.4. Their H.264 also uses even more CPU, was 90-100% on that system with 8.4! In the end i dropped the max fps to 7fps for each camera anyway which automatically uses less CPU, but in this case it was for hard drive space to match the other DVRs which were 1120's - this one was a 1480. Never had these issues with any 8.12's and 1480's in the field, geez they are running on P4s!
-
for 8.4 make sure you have a quad core.
