    Help Please

What DVR is it? Can you identify the manufacturer of it, any name on it?
  2. You sent it back? Normally just have to open it up to dry out for a couple hours in the sun or overnight indoors .. then make sure its sealed back up good (eg. caulk areas where water may leak inside). Ive had to do this countless times over the past 10 years, always gets rid of the condensation.
  3. Unfortunately there is none (yet) Im working on something (for a couple years now) but its not going to be released anytime soon. How to do it then? Most DVRs supply an activeX control to view in IE. Download that and insert the code for it in a webpage, one for each camera and or each DVR. Most will have 1 activeX per camera, some will have 1 per DVR with their own multiview.
  4. the IR Illuminators, or an IR camera? You are confusing me. In any event, Infrared is used to see in the dark. a Black and White camera DOES NOT see in the pitch dark and in most cases can be useless in very low lighting, so that is why Infrared is added.
  5. A camera cannot see in the pitch dark, therefore you have to add Visible or Infrared light. The more light the better the picture. Some cameras come with Infrared built in. Examples of applications that may require Infrared: -Retail store at night -Residential Applications -Night Clubs -LPR

    16 channel dvr help

Literally everything is made overseas. As with other manufacturers Dahua has distributors that rebadge it and resell it under their name in the US, UK and other countries. Its hard to find something these days that isnt made in china or another country, even something as popular as a cellphone. FYI most US brands use products made overseas - if anything they customize the software in the US. Just a heads up, as there is ALOT of marketing hype out there these days, they all claim they are manufacturers. I get my Dahua DVRs from a Miami DVR "Manufacturer" Yet I get my updates from the real manufacturer in China Here is just a small sample of the brands that use Dahua DVRs: Q-See, XTS Video, EDGE, IC Realtime, MACE, GEN IV / Intellicam, AData There are also alot of good Korean DVRs being sold in the US under various popular brand names.
  8. Only port I ever needed to forward as far as I recall is 5551 for live video. BTW: CenterV2 Full Screen Hack viewtopic.php?f=36&t=25232&p=152478#p152478

Option 1 - you cannot generally connect the DVR to a PC, you have to use a USB Jump drive formatted in the FAT file system (or FAT32). The hard drive will have a file system your computer will not be able to recognize properly without software from the manufacturer (if it exists).

    16 channel dvr help

Check out the Dahua DVRs .. in fact if you could raise the price a couple hundred you could probably land the 32 channel which takes up to 8 x 2TB Sata Drives - I have a couple in the field, one with 6x 2TB WD Black drives. Plug the DVR in and its recording. anyway the normal 16 channel dahua is much less and holds 1x2TB Sata. Ofcourse there are alot of other good DVRs out there, Dahua is just one of the cheaper ones that have good features and works.

Just cause they have a feature doesnt mean it works But yes most DVRs have an easy setup wizard now when you first turn them on.
  12. Post the brand of the DVR, or check with your supplier for the name of the app.

    Gadspot cameras any good?

Looks like they ship straight from Taiwan and the USA office is just an office. Hence the low price and the info regarding OEM/ODM That camera mentioned is a Color IR camera, not a True Day Night, so the colors will likely be washed out. Its a typical Color IR camera which can be just fine for most residential applications, thats just under the average retail price in the US for small or rebranded cameras, I get them for less as a dealer but dont buy them typically as those budget cameras all use cheap chips and are normally minus the other important features, so I just stick with the even cheaper lower res ones for budget jobs, and skip right up to the True Day Night for the others. Also pay no attention to the number of LEDs on any camera, I have one here for testing right now and it has 6 LEDs and it puts out over 400' of IR. (costs $1500+ though) But do let us know how it works out PS. Most here buy from distributors which is why they might not have heard of that site. Also the ones that do buy retail normally buy from more well known sites.

Depends on the DVR but generally it can be like this: 1-USB port on the DVR - plug in a FAT/32 formatted USB jump drive, go into the DVR's backup feature and select that USB drive to back up to. 2-Network - use the DVR's network software to search, playback, and download the files 3-Hard Drive - take out the DVR hard drive and connect it to your PC using SATA or USB, use the manufacturer's software such as HDD Download software to download files from it - warning, with some DVRs this may render the DVR data unusable when you put it back in the DVR.

    16 channel dvr help

There is no way for them to know this. Even if they were to take snapshots of each connected camera and then calculate it based on those image sizes, Image size gets larger and smaller from motion in the video. Additionally if one did this at night and all the cameras are in BW, the image size would be much greater when it switches to color in the day. In addition to that, the image size also depends on the quality of the image, the camera used. As mentioned, storage calculators can only give rough estimates, most of which are generally too unreliable to warrant using.
  16. i will sell whatever they can afford still looking into that stadium thing by the way ..
  17. alot of the US distributors have them make changes to the firmware, but the bottom line is the manufacturer is still dahua. As for the processor I dont know, though they can vary from one dahua to the next.
  18. Ok thanks. So its a good camera then
  19. Dated or not (and like all their cameras surely they updated the design/components/IR), if you can show me something else that is in the same class as this I would appreciate it Order of importance: 1-Night Infrared Performance 2-Day Performance 3-Durability 4-Image size 5-NVR/DVR/Software
  20. Thanks, but those are toy cameras compared to the EX85 when it comes to the IR

    Replacement for CNB VBM-24VF?

Cant recall if its EI or ELC on that camera but either way thats Electronic Iris, DC is the AUTO IRIS on the lens. So its under the Lens title in the top menu. Electronic Iris is where the camera digitally controls the amount of light coming in, DC is Auto Iris where the lens controls it. Thats the best time to focus it, but just in case can still switch it to EI and focus it like that, or if you notice a slight blur with any of them then do it as 99% of the time I never had to do it, just came across 2 cameras where I had to. The Auto Iris on those type of lenses (domes and bullets) are pretty flimsy so they dont always work great. Gotta excuse me now, im outside in the sun adjusting the OSD on a $2000 EX30 camera, its like the sahara desert out there right now and bright is an understatement! got a black tee shirt over my head and the monitor .. heat stroke here we come
  22. I just found this on a residential job I went to check, they had no picture on one camera and barely a picture on another .. but promised they saw the cable working at another job ... was like okay .. hooked it all up anyway since they were paying for the time ... less than 60' distances and full of lines .. switching it out for RG59 siamese.
  23. Most DVR Cards have alarm input cards or separate devices as an option.
