Analog video samples????????? anyone????????

It has 6 fat IR leds in the top section. The older EX82 I replaced it for had a bunch of small LEDs. This definitely puts out a ton more IR. It also comes with 2 front glass covers, both look near identical to me although the misty area in front of the IRs is a little clearer on one. One is labeled 80 degree the other is 40 degree, the 40 is for the 50mm zoom. The older EX82 was max 30 degrees. -
The DFL doesnt have the service monitor output, this is the vandal version of that so not sure if it would. The store mentioned tends to have various ages of cameras so if a newer version might have it, and the older one doesnt, you may have got the older version - from their sister company (123) I got 3 versions of the VBM-24VF in an order last year, though in that case it was just some OSD changes. Its also possible it was a returned item sent out by mistake.

EX30 @ 5mm w/80° glass .... -
Are you focusing it after you zoom it out to wide? The quality should be good out to 20-30' then it will degrade, objects will be smaller though. What type of monitor are you using to test it with? (testing should not involve the DVR at all) You could zoom it in a little more like 4mm or so and it should be a happy medium. Otherwise for highest resolution and wide angle like that, the alternative now are Megapixel Fisheye type cameras.

I dont know if that particular dome costs more than the VCM-24VF or not, but you might also be able to disable the IR on that dome. Sometimes though when disabling the IR the camera stays in BW, depends on the camera. Also if you already have it, then its probably worth keeping, just have to make sure get that rubber ring up tight against the cover each time you make adjustments. The CNB IR Dome I used had a fixed lens so it may differ a little from that one.
-
With that type of dome, it relies on the rubber ring being right up against the rounded edge of the dome cover, else the IR will cause glare back onto the lens. So it becomes a PITA when you have to adjust the camera's gimble, to be sure to make the rubber ring tight against the cover at the same time making sure the rubber does not show in the view (with a wide angle for example). Additionally as mentioned the IR distance does not come close to that of most bullets these days. Its just not an easy type of camera to work with. Ofcourse one could use the Turret style IR dome instead as that has the IR and camera in separate sections instead of just using a rubber ring, though still the IR distance issue and also a PITA to adjust the lens. It gets time consuming and costly to return cameras that are crap or dont work properly, at least from here.
-
I wasnt happy with the CNB IR cameras either. I used 2 of their TDN IR Bullets including one of the more expensive ones (2 still in the field but changing them today) and 1 of the domes . .the dome is okay for the small area I have it in though, in fact their IR Bullets was all I really had issues with. I would suggest using the VCM-24VF or VBM-24VF and then adding IR separately.
-
With all CCTV cameras as long as its a Color only camera its safe to assume it has a fixed IR cut filter, unless its a $20 camera. Also, no video out port listed in the specs on the webpage but seems their PDF does list it, perhaps its a new feature and the one you received was an older model, sometimes that happens. Some of their PDFs and specs have errors in them though. I agree though, all manufacturers should make their specs a little clearer, all of them fall short in that area though, and the fact is, one can NEVER rely on specs alone. I had cameras come that were listed on a manufacturer's site as TDN with ICR, and they didnt even have an ICR.
-
Ditto. that dome is just a vandal Color dome, has a fixed IR cut filter and is not Day Night.

did, yes the port is open, he is good to go. Also use the link I posted to test instead as that tells you correctly that the port is open.

Rookie in need of some business advice
rory replied to GatesAudio's topic in General Digital Discussion
I normally charge businesses more, not the first trip though, gotta get them hooked. I charge more because in most cases they want to pay by check and that means 1 hour in line cashing it. Dont have the drive here like you do, 21 miles by 7 mile island, but can be sitting in traffic for 1 hour and the roads are awful so the vehicle needs extra maintenance. Anyway I dont charge a trip charge per say, i normally charge $75 per hour, if its a business I normally charge an initial $150, sometimes $125, or $100, depends how close it is and what it entails - eg. working in a room infested with attacking flying ****roaches will cost more, 50 foot on top of an unstable fork lift under a metal roof in the summer, costs more, if I get called to a club at 4am to backup murder footage, cost skyrockets. Thats here though ... things a little different in the US. -
Generally they are sold with no HDDs, unless you buy it from some online stores or consumer brands like Q-See. None of the DVRs I ever buy come with HDDs (except back in the day when I used GE Kalatel DVRs), most manufacturers do not sell them with HDDs. The HDD capacity is internal.

1.5U, 2xHDD, NO HDMI, FULL D1 (30fps D1 every channel), 4 Audio Inputs .... Cant find any model that corresponds to that. Edit - thats not a Dahua model
-
Add Geo to start up - either manually do this in the registry, or just drop a shortcut in the start menu's startup folder, or reinstall and check the box "Add to startup". Full screen - in general settings there is a section for autologin and full screen - make sure the user you set for that has Full Screen Enter rights. Default multiview - in camera setup.

GV800 doesnt have composite out, you need the combo card for that, eg GV-1120

They have all the same DVRs the Miami distributors carry.
-
Tom that is not correct, they are one of many distributors that import the DVRs from China. In fact if one is to contact Dahua and ask them where to buy their DVRs in the US, Dahua recommends MACE.
-
Dahua DVRs are sold under various names in the US. In Miami alone they are rebadged by dozens of companies who bring them in direct from China, most reselling to Latin America. Q-See is one of the companies that import them, Mace, Edge, XTS, Qvis mentioned by Tom, mostly are distributors, Intellicam USA (GenIV) also, and a few online stores sell them under their own store names. They are visibly noticeable for their look but also for the PSS software as well as the HDMI output in the case of the non entry level models. You can skin the PSS for Windows (see my site for info on that) to put your own logo and much more, which most of those companies do (havent tried it with the MAC or Linux packages). AS long as PSS works on the MAC in question then you will be able to connect to any Dahua DVR (and some Dahua IP cameras).
-
Dahua DVRs have support for: Windows XP/7 (PSS Desktop Software) IE (ActiveX) (IE9 not supported yet) FireFox/Chrome (w/ IE plugin) Linux - Suse and Ubuntu (PSS Desktop Software) Mac - OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3, Darwin Kernel Version 10.3.0 (PSS Desktop Software) Mobile - iPad, iPhone, iPod, Android, Blackberry, Symbian, Windows Mobile (DMSS Mobile app) Keyboard - network keyboard control

Where does the Window tint come in?
-
i checked it the other day and it works. Try the link I posted to test it.

Wondering what the licensing is like? Also what type of application are you using it for, and whats your experiences using it. For those that dont know its a management system for Dahua DVRs and other devices, you install the server on a PC and add devices, groups, users and assign them to the devices, and using the client software they login to that server PC instead and then have the device list already populated with the devices assigned to that user. One thing I did notice is I can connect more than 10 times to one DVR. Otherwise I havent tried too much with it, seems there are 2 versions also, a base and an upper, I tested the base, also its unregistered meaning its a Trial for 180 days. I installed the Upper also but its missing the devices, not sure what thats for. Here are some screenshots: DSS Client DSS Server And here is an image from Dahua
