Yeah only using the one router. Its only the website that the manul recommends going through doesnt work if i enter the ip:8080 i can view all so i am happy with that. I will remember the ip and i am fine. Unless you think you know what it is but im out of ideas Thanks

Hi all, I recently got a cheap Sunluxy 8ch dvr system off ebay. I have set it up and working other than remote viewing. I have set the dvr to 192.168.1.5 which is free as the DHCP decided that. I have since made it fixed and set my web port as 8080 and data port as 8888. I have set up port forwarding for both TCP and UDP of port 8080 and 8888 to the IP of the DVR 192.168.1.5. I have tried canyouseeme.org with both ports and it can see both. However when i try my internet ip 115.xx.xx.xx:8080 i get nothing. Also when i log onto the DVR website it connect but cant connect to the device. I have searched the net for hours already and cannot sort it out. Any help much appreciated.

Getting further thanks for the help. I have just logged on with 3g to my laptop so i am on wan and i got it work on 115.XXX.x..x:8080. I was trying the website that it says in the manual IPC163.com which works and i can log on but it cant connect to the device. Either way il just use the IP address way not hard to remember. if i try 115.xx.xx:8080 with or without http:// i get nothing still just page is not available. I can only get onto it through LAN at 192.168.1.5:8080. The DVR network screen says web port 8080 and data port 8888. Hence thats why i have set the port forwarding to those ports. I have also set port 80 as port forwarding as when i click apply it said something like this is in use moving it to 8080.

Alright i am getting some where. I redid everything just to be sure and now if i go to 192.168.1.5:8080 on my LAN i get the dvr and cameras. So now i tried the WAN log on and can connect to the page but it cannot connect to the device (dvr). So on canyoume.org it can see both ports 8080 and 8888. And i can see it from another computer on my LAN so given i have set up port forwarding what would be stopping other computer looking in from WAN. This is great help

Thanks for all the help, when i put in 192.168.1.5 it says "this web page is not available". I only have one all in one modem and router a d-link. The IP on the DVR is static and not moving i have fixed it to the 192.168.1.5. 8888 is just what port it recommends in the instructions so just went with it.

yeah in the dvr i have the port of 8080 set which should be fine. do i need to do anything different as i have a modem.router. I have set up port forwarding before for video cameras and it worked just not this time

On port 8080 it is successful on canyouseeme.org. What do you mean make sure it http not tcp... When i select port forwarding i give it a name the ip adress of the DVR and the port start and end 8080. Then i can only select tcp, udp or both. Should i be able to select http or similar

I just tried forwarding port 80 to the DVR and it said moving web server port to 8080 sounds great but no luck yet

I sort of get what you are saying there but how to i find what the http port is. The DVR is set for web on port 8080 and data on 8888. Thanks for the input so far
