  1. I made a video for my clients how to playback using gdmss. So far it has worked with all NVR-4116 and NVR-4108 recorders. "The other" method is to choose playback in the main menu of gdmss, as showed in the video also.
  2. Thanks a lot AgentJ0sh! That was it, just needed to change it to main and now it works through menu. However "real-time playback" button gives still "failed to connect". No big problem as playback can be accessed through main menu. Johannes
  3. I have Dahua NVR4116H with 8 different cameras running. 3 x 4300s, 3 x HDB3200CP, 1 x HDBW4300E, and 1 x Zavio B5210. I have manually set exposure settings in HDB3200CPs this way: Exposure: manual Shutter: 0-300ms Gain: 0-80 If max shutter is applied during dark time, recordings are played also faster (makes sense when exposing a frame is taking longer time). It only happens in HDB3200CP cameras recordings. Any setting (other than setting exposure back auto) to prevent this? HDB3200CP is quite sensitive in dark and those exposure settings make it lot better in dark than auto settings. Johannes
  4. Anybody familiar with Novus ip-cameras? I have model NVIP-3DN3011H/IR-1P installed and need to get jpeg uploaded to ftp server in a schedule (etc 1 per minute). In camera software I cannot find a way to do this, it only has motion detection ftp upload and that is all I think? Also could not find an url to "pull" a jpeg out of camera, such as http://192.168.1.20/jpeg/image.jpg There is no email to Novus support on their web pages. Johannes
  5. Ah, thats it, my Buffalo supports not NFS. Thanks. Johannes
  6. There is an option to use NAS in Dahua cameras, at least HFW4300S and HDB3200CP that I own. However, user manual or help does not indicate what this actually means. There is fields for IP address and path, but no username or password. I have tested it with my Buffalo NAS but no success. I know FTP works but I'm thinking that maybe if NAS option works the camera sees NAS storage directly and could do also playback in camera UI like HDB3200CP does with SD card record. Anybody got this working? Johannes

    ONVIF and motion

I have Dahua nvr and 5 Dahua cameras + 3 Zavio cameras. MD works perfect to nvr from Dahua cameras but not from Zavios. Couple of weeks ago I updated Zavios to new FW and noticed that one of them (B5210) got automatic onvif motion detection settings from nvr and started to work together like it should - yellow areas on playback timeline! However I had to reboot the camera later because other issues and onvif md stopped working. Also there was no visible onvif settings in event server / event list / motion detection settings. Just a blank line you could not edit or delete. Got curious and did factory default for B5210. Again saw onvif md working! But next reboot and it was gone. Zavio seems to send onvif notify via HTTP to NVR, http:///onvif_notify.htm and it can be even tested while doing settings. Clicking test, Zavio camera results (even freshly defaulted): "Fail HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently Location: / 7.221 Authorization: Basic YWRtaW46dGlpcmFw" Question: does anybody know how to call proper http onvif notify in Dahua nvr? Is onfiv_notify.htm right at all? Johannes
  8. FTP should be clicked out on "path"-tab, so it is not possible to use FTP and NAS same time. After that you can input NAS address and folder. What I am looking for is that NAS could appear to camera similar as SD card local storage (which HFW4300S does not have) and enables playback functions. Maybe not possible at all, just thinking. However, NAS means Network Attached Storage and that can be interpreted also FTP, SMB, CIFS, whatever.. Johannes

    Which App for Windows Phone

I have also same kind of a question. Last week installed camera system for client in a cow stable. Three Zavio cameras; B5113, D7110 and F531e. With my own Samsung Ace II (Android) everything is working well, I can view even normal camera UI web page with motion picture. Of course my client has Nokia Lumia 800 and he cannot view motion picture in browser. Picture area just stays black or white, depending of the camera model. Now I have found an app called IP cam viewer from Candylabs, got it work somehow, but should be happy to find an app for Windows phone which is able to view simple RTSP streams. Any suggestions? Kind regards, Johannes
  10. Video made from stills taken by Dahua IPC-HDB3200C in 1 sec / 7 secs intervals. Seems to be sensitive enough to capture northern lights... Johannes
  11. I have to add my last post something I did not remember... the focus! In those ICA-HM100 cameras temperature seems to be affecting in the focus - when you adjust it sharp in +10c, the picture is out of focus in -20c... ICA-107 focus works well. I have also installed one ICA-HM312 outdoor camera (good to -30c) which was out of focus as arrived. Sent it back to the dealer and they adjusted it. Well it was better but not perfect. They advised me to adjust it more myself and I managed to get it sharp in -5c or so. Now when it is warmer it's still getting out of focus.. other HM312 on same place works well... Johannes
  12. Hi Dexterash, No worry about ALLO anymore, your solution solved the slash issue in path name! SDK parameter config program accepted slashes and sent the full path to camera, and now it saves jpgs directly to my Buffalo Thanks a lot! Johannes
  13. Now found out Dahua is hitting my FTP server constantly with ALLO command. Even many times in second... 14. Have installed many IP cameras here in cold Finland, 64 degrees north. Typically the minimum during every winter goes to -30c or more. At home I have 4 x Planet indoor IP cameras (ICA-HM100 and ICA-107) installed outdoors. The only protection is a halogen light box, no heating. They have been running fine now 2,5 years. http://www.bizrice.com/upload/20120106/Halogen_IP55_Auto_Detector_Light_Camera_Hidden.jpg Just like that but the insides have been ripped off. Then I have installed number of Zavio B5110s, Planet ICA-HM312s and HM316s, no problem in cold. The only camera that has been not working was Zavio D7110. In specs there is -10c and yes, installed it for test in -17c temperature and noticed that everything else was working but no picture - only white. After bringing the camera in and letting it warm a bit it was working again. Weirdest thing is that after getting new FW update this camera is working also ok in cold:) Johannes
  15. Just found out how to solve the slash problem. Unfortunately it needs an external ftp server. I have a laptop with broken screen running as webserver and weather sofware server. I installed Filezilla ftp server there and made an user account which has home directory pointing to Buffalo share. Works perfectly Johannes
  16. Hi Dexterash, In my PSS if I click device config, it opens cameras web ui in browser, where it does not take any slashes.. Brebenac, in my earlier posts I have explained that Buffalo does not drop user in home folder, it just sits in root directory and from there you have to dig deeper like /array/cameras/camera5 and so on... Well probably I will install this camera finally in another site, where the pictures are saved on PC and single directory name without slashes is possible. Johannes
  17. Hi Dexterash, Tried to find a way to setup ftp path via PSS but no success. Should it be possible? Maybe there is some kind of ftp redirect software for PC that can be used. I put the camera to upload to PCs address and directory, then it sends it to Buffalo. Complicated but might work. Johannes
  18. Hi Dexterash, Yes that should be possible in normal FTP servers but seems to be that in my Buffalo there is no thing called "home directory" or dedicated share. You can only create an user account and give it permissions a root-level directory which is under /array1 Johannes
  19. Good morning! I changed the port in my snapshot URL and it still works. I use the HTTP port of the camera. (mine 8082). http://ip-address:8082/onvif/media_service/snapshot Also I made a .PHP script which moves all the jpgs under the directory tree in a same folder and the deletes the multi-level dir structure. Now this starts to look better. I need still resolve how I could upload to my Buffalo NAS when there is no possibility to put slash in the ftp path. Johannes
  20. Will look how PSS looks like. Well for ftp I just wonder why does the camera not save all the jpgs in same folder and let the server (or user) decide what to do with them. Now it creates so complicated and multi-level directory structure that it is quite hard to browse it manually. My other cameras (Zavio, Planet) save all jpgs in same folder and I have made a PHP script there which deletes the oldest, makes thumbnails and shows 100 last pictures on page. Very handy to view remotely. Johannes
  21. Chomber, thanks x 1000, you made my day Snapshot works! This makes this camera more usable for me. Also I found out how to move X-axis. Did not use enough force.. Now it's only the ftp path problem which makes the camera suit not so well in my other system. I have a small company doing pc repairs / sales and I do also IP cameras, so bought mine from Wintel (Finnish importer), to test it if I could recommend it to my clients. Now it seems that this is a good camera if you are intending to use it with separate NVR and do not need to care too much about the software running inside the camera. Terveisin, Johannes
