I want to install two cameras having each camera a standalone system as they are far from each other (around 10-12 kms). And, I want to monitor from third location which can be the same city, country or other country. Can anyone suggest me of what the system will be like and how I can monitor two separate cameras at two different locations from location anywhere around the world. Please suggest. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As per my understanding, they both has to be either standalone system IP cameras or cameras (IP or analog) interconnected via cable (FOC or Copper). Please confirm if my understanding is correct. And, when it comes to monitor from anywhere around the world, I will install the camera's software to my PC at some X location which after installation will ask for IP address of the camera at location A /B and once I input that I can remotely monitor & control those cameras. Please confirm if my understanding is correct. Thanks & Best Regards

That's alright, how about this dwg? (see attached) I appreciate if everyone share their workable design drawings with us, although every system design varies but please note that this is purely for learning purposes. Regards.

Does any one has CCTV system detailed block/schematic drawings, from which I can learn more and more about the system design for use in future. Please share the one which is workable and not based on assumptions or too basic, like a camera that connected to converter then switch then NVR, monitor etc. I appreciate the detailed drawings, please share. Many Many Thanks in advance.

How to calculate how well a camera can cover considering distance, day/night, blind spots etc. If there is any sample or formula that can help in finding above it will be very useful in my CCTV designs. Please suggest.

Guys, isn't there any formula for such calculations, where you input fields and calculate the coverage. Is there any such formula not yet developed or are waiting for R & D to be developed?

I want to install a small camera with very small overall system setup avoiding too many equipments with long term storage of atleast 3 months. Image quality is not too important to be high quality, it should just be able to identify a person standing at the door around 6 mts clear enough. Please suggest any system that will let me store these video for atleat 3 months so that i dont have to access it agian and again. I dont want live monitoring I just want to store this video to a memory card so that under any accidents or thefts I can use this card to investigate of what exactly happend. capable of working day/night in front of main door, so that i can see people accessing my home other than the actual residents. Please suggest lower cost and long term storage system, no matter the picture quality of high resolution. Thanks a lot in advance.

So, putting up an IP camera with SD card, why do i need a POE cable, since i dont want to connect to any PC or TV or switch, it should monitor constantly and record without connecting to other device and which consume power from batteries, just like cell phone but should be for longer time. Is it possible? Is there any such thing out there?

Friends, This CCTV System is for Oil and Gas app. I have two IP PTZ Cameras which will be installed in field, whereas the main equipment will be installed in the control room which is about 400 to 500 meters away from this two cameras and the mode of connection between is FOC. So can any one advice what are the equipments required to make a complete system and connectivity between them. (Please also provide the models of equipment, which is highly appreciated). Please note that this system is IP CCTV system. As per my understanding I need 1. Two IP PTZ cameras (Pelco) -for field area 2. NVR to record 30 days (DSSRV-005; 500GB) 3. HP 2610 switch. 4. Joystick controller. 5. PC with 32" monitor. Please give your suggestions, as per your understanding which can make a complete system functional. Regards.

Thanks ferdzff. I have found the converter from pelco itself . Model FX82011 Ethernet Media converter. thanks again.

IP Cameras with inbuilt video transceiver
goodie posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Does a IP PTZ camera connected to NVR and then with connected with switch requires Video Transceiver? I would like to know if there are any IP Cameras with inbuilt video Transceiver inside it, so that I can avoid placing Transceiver in junction box fitted to pole. What is the price difference between a IP PTZ camera with inbuilt Transceiver and without inbuilt Transceiver. which one would be cheaper? Any catalog or website you know i can search for it. thanks. -

conversion of dB value to dB(A)? (for sound applications)
goodie posted a topic in General Digital Discussion
Dear All, This question may not relate to forum but I hope there are some geniuses who can advice on this, 1. conversion of dB value to dBA value, for ex: 100dB =_____dB(A)? 2. I am using a loudspeaker for PAGING apps. I have following specs - Rated Power 110dB Freq - 250 to 7000Hz I want to know the coverage distance 'd' (in mtrs) the sound signal can reach in presence of 60dB noise in that area. Loudspeaker is installed in open area like at some road for making annoucements. Please advice with formula. -
sorry tom, but i havn't got any pictures with me at the moment. But, I will explain you the design in detail below - 1. basically I have three PTZ cams who will be connected to FOC-COAX Transceiver via Mutlicore composite cable 2. From this point there will be buried/underground FOC running to control room building and connected to a FPP-fiber patch panel and then to CCTV camera interface module then it will be connected to NVR and then to L2/L3 switch + UPS system and from here to PC monitor and Joystick, keyboard. Please let me know if the above connections are correct. Also, can we use a coaxial cable to connect an IP camera? what is the function of an CCTV camera Interface module? Why do we use Transceiver? does it do any video encoding or conversion? Thanks

Hi Guys, I am using a Multicore composite cable between a CCTV camera and CCTV transceiver with water tank, I am not sure whether this camera is analog or IP. Please advice.
