Acti KCM-5611 Powers via 12v but not POE?
Ozone replied to Ozone's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Replacing the transformer still did not allow them to power over POE. I just installed the camera and ran a 12v wire to power the camera. I took it to an electronic repair guy to replace the transformers but he couldnt get it to work over POE. I cut my loses at that. -
I posted earlier that my 2 ACTI KCM-5611 wouldn't power on via POE. After attempting to repair the camera's they still will not power on over POE. They do however power through the 12 volt input on the back and they work flawlessly. I have decided to cut my losses and just power them through the 12v input. This may come as a surprise but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. First I have a wallwart that powers exactly what the camera needs, 12v at 1500mA. I assume, that since I will be running the power cable roughly 50ft, that this will not suffice due to voltage drop. Just throwing this out there as it may be a solution but I purchased this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intocircuit-30W-Waterproof-LED-Power-Supply-Driver-Transformer-120V-to-12V-/321389430261?ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:CA:3160 It is a 12 volt adapter that wattage is 30watts or 2.5amps. Is this too powerful and will fry my camera? My last question is how do I securely plug in the wiring into the camera? From the picture below you will see that there is no real way to securely attach the wires.

Acti KCM-5611 Powers via 12v but not POE?
Ozone replied to Ozone's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Do you think if I switched out the POE transformer that it will power up? I'm about to order two. The thing is they already work fine with 12v but I would really like them to work with POE. I just hope if I switch out the Poe transformer that I wont fry the camera. I figure its worth a shot though. -

Opened it up and found what was burned. The CoilCraft FA2925-AL. It's the PoE part of the camera. I wonder if I unsolder it an resoldet on a new one it will work? Ideas? -
Acti KCM-5611 Powers via 12v but not POE?

As the title says when I plug in POE into the KCM5611, it wont power on. Yet when I connect a 12v power source, they power on and work perfectly(This is happening to BOTH 5611's). Is there an option to turn the POE off in the settings or something? Ideas? They were bought used. I have tried the POE injector I used originally with another IP camera, I assumed it might have been faulty so I bought a POE switch with 4 POE slots, still wont power on. So it has to be the cameras. Edit: Factory reset did not work. Maybe the POE port is fried? The pins look like they're in good condition. Edit x2: Maybe the pins for the ethernet cables need to be moved around. Ugh. Edit x3: Tried opening it up, took the front cover off, I assume I have to take apart the lens piece by piece to get to the ethernet port? Edit x4: Since I just bought this switch, is it possible to splice open the cable and connect the power and negative from the ethernet to the power slot on the back of the camera? Or will it not work? -
Hi, I recently purchased two Acti KCM-5611 used and am now just trying to get them connected. When I plug the POE injector into one of the 5611's, the LED on the injector has both the yellow(looks green to me) LED and a RED LED. This happens when I plug it into either camera. The manual for my POE injector says: "A steady blend color of red and yellow indicates that the power adapter is working properly." My POE injector TP-Link TL-POE150S, output is 48V. Do I need a different injector? I worked for my Hikivision. Am I missing something here as to why the camera's won't power on? They are still in warranty but don't understand why the LED's on the camera won't turn on. Help? Thanks, Ozone

Looking to Setup Alarm to Magnetic Contacts
Ozone posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I am looking at purchasing the hikvision ds-2cd6412fwd-30 1.3mp covert camera: http://www.networkcameracritic.com/?p=2371 I plan on having this camera hidden so when someone opens the door it captures a picture and emails it to me. I should be the only one opening the door so if anyone ever breaks the lock and opens the door I would like to receive an email with the photo attached. Is this what the alarm feature is for? Any suggestions on magnetic alarm contacts or substitutions? Also looking for any tutorials on how to get it setup. Thanks -
Can't Get Video Feed on Hikvision DS-2CD3332-I
Ozone posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I finished installing my Hikvision DS-2CD3332-I the other day and I can't seem to get the picture to work on any of the programs I use. SADP says its on my network, and the camera has power since the LED illuminator is lit. IP Address: 192.0.0.64 Port: 8000 IP v4 Gateway: 0.0.0.0(is this right?) When using Milestone it wont automatically find the camera. I tried manually putting in the IP address and tried both ports 80 and 8000, both with no success. Also BlueIris can't find it as well as. The Hikvision software(iVMS-4200) can add the camera, but only get a black screen. Im trying username:admin password: 12345 Not sure if it matters but this camera I got from a Chinese seller on ebay. Thanks in advance, Ozone -

Raspberry Pi and Camera Software
Ozone posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sorry if I don't know the correct terminology but I am looking for the IP camera managing software, like blue iris, that could work on a raspberry Pi. I want to be able to watch the cameras on a monitor where there is no computer. Help would be greatly appreciated Edit: It would be helpful if I mentioned what camera's im using. I am using the QSee 4 720P IP Camera setup with the included 4 Channel NVR. I have managed to get it to stream to my IP address. I have also got it working on my phone with iDMSS Lite. I found that raspbmc which is XBMC can run stream files where you point the raspberry pi to where the stream is. Maybe I can use my IP address as the URL to the stream and can view the camera's that way :/ Edit edit: Seems im answering my own questions again. I will try this and see where it takes me. http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=66438 -
Connecting two Cat5e Cables together for IP Camera?
Ozone posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I have to run about 100' of my installation outside and wanted to order a burial cable that wont deteriorate underground. I have 100' of regular cat5e, can I run the 100' of burial cable then connect it using a ethernet connector and use the regular cable the rest of the way? Im running the 720p q-see so nothing crazy. -
Can't Get Video Feed with Q-See 720P and NVR
Ozone replied to Ozone's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You can close the thread, this was something not technical but the power cable that powers the POE was bad. After just touching the power brick it somehow came alive. It wasn't unplugged, just had some weird short. Thanks for the help anyways. -
Can't Get Video Feed with Q-See 720P and NVR
Ozone replied to Ozone's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
When I go to manual add, for some reason when I add a device with the IP 192.168.1.71, it won;t add it to added devices. Also if I do an IP search, like the video below, the camera's won't appear. This is killing me, please help Not sure if it's a port forwarding problem but this is what I have: NVR2 37777 192.168.1.71 85 BOTH NVR 6036 192.168.1.71 85 TCP NVR3 80 192.168.1.71 85 BOTH -
Can't Get Video Feed with Q-See 720P and NVR
Ozone posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I don't know what it is but I can't seem to be able to get a video feed from the cameras while connected to the NVR. I just have a black screen when they are connected. I go through the startup, it tells me ports 85 and 37777 are open. It says I have Upnp. I can also access the remote viewing webservice by accessing my ip address and port 85. On the NVR screen all I see is the 4 black square windows, with a plus sign to add a remote device. When I click that it comes up with 0 options. I can IP search or Manual add. When I click manual add it comes up with: Channel:1 Manufacturer: Private IP Address: 192.168.0.0 TCP Port: 37777 User: Admin Password: Remote CHannel 1 Decoder Buffer: 280 I tried changing the IP Address to that of my NVR, 192.168.1.71 and also tried 192.168.1.71:85 but nothing happens after I click ok. I have the cameras connected to the back of the NVR via ethernet cable and plugged into the POE slots. Ideas?
