Thanks for reading.
I recently joined a community that has been plagued with vandalism, theft, and drugs. My wife and I are doing our best to help clean the area up. Funds are scarce but avail.
I would like to build an easily duplicated security camera setup system for each of our 44 buildings. I'm going to pay for the first setup to watch my home. Hopefully others will follow suit.
We have one of these in front of each building.
Each light pole has 120v power lines running in. I would like to use this power to power a POE Injector . Which I will use to power the IP Cameras, perhaps the Dahua's avail from costco www.costco.com/Q-See-High-Definition-720p-2-Pack-IP-Cameras.product.100003461.html.
The data will be sent back to network via the Engenius wireless bridge
What I've not yet figured out is how I connect two cameras in this setup...
OR.... Is there a better system design I am missing? Keeping hardware inside the units is not an option - as tenants are not trustworthy. Running lines is cost prohibitive as each building is separated by concrete.
Google map of 44 buildings.
I think this should have been posed in system design instead, oops.
