  1. Thanks for those comments, I understand that my needs are more for the small office/home user and for live viewing rather than surveillance and recording. I am relieved that my needs seem to be met by Rory's LiveVue software and have purchased my GV250/4 and will try it out soon.
  2. Is video quality across the lan all the same between the different GV cards? If I knew I was going to get better remote live viewing across the LAN , I would get the more expensive card. Is the limitation in quality the LAN, viewing software, CPU or DVR card? What sort of bandwidth are we looking at with an uncompressed composite signal that is digitalised? MPEG2 DVD quality has no troubles being viewed across a 54Mb wireless LAN.
  3. OK the question is do I go GV 250 -4, GV 650 -4 or the GV 800 -4. I am in Australia and the PAL frame rate will be 16,50, 100fps. Live monitoring is the purpose rather than recording. If I am only watching 1 camera as opposed to 4 will the total framerate still be divided by 4? With the Swann DVR card and its remote viewing software there is a definite degradation of the camera image to the remote workstation across 100Mb Lan compared to the server view. Would I expect this with a Geovision card and LiveVue across a LAN? CPU usage appears minor when viewing alone. There seems little difference between these GV cards except framerate and the no. of audio channels. The GV 250 is more likely to work with a non Intel chipset?
  4. That is exactly what I want. What are the actual sizes of the mini and ultra mini screen modes? This will depend on the physical screen size and resolution, but for example, do you have any overall screenshots of these modes on a 19 inch screen running 1280x1024? Neat the way they will stay on top and can be placed in the corners. Is this available for any other cards besides geovision? I have a Swann DVR card which is Taiwanese and runs SuperDVR software that uses activex for its remote viewer. http://www.swann.com.au/show_item.php?item=161 Superdvr here http://www.q-see.com/newwebsite-design/support/dvr-pci-support.htm Does any other remote viewing software enable different screen modes? Is your website being revamped? Your old links aren't there.
  5. First post here. Can someone point me in the right direction please. I want to set up a 4 channel pc dvr card. I want to use this setup to monitor the cameras from a LAN workstation. Most of the viewing software I have seen pictures of seem to be of a set screen size 1024x768, and can't be adjusted in size. Would like to have the viewing software reduced to 10cm x 10cm and moved to the bottom right and optioned to stay on top so that other tasks can be done but still able to see the camera viewer. Is there such a card with software that can do this? Not really interested in recording and all those other fancy features.
