  1. I'm really glad you took the risk an bought those cameras and posted the samples online! That was the only reason I was holding back from the aebell. Zero sample videos to look at. The only thing I noticed missing in your night shots were people. I was wondering how they reacted to moving humans and if they looked washed out like some cameras do. Can you see facial detail? How does it react to headlights at night? Can you turn off the WDR? or is it a hardware thing that can't be turned off. I was wondering if you could tell a difference with it on and off. Now that you brought aote to my attention, I might switch chinese brands.
  2. That's 8 min of my life wasted that I will never get back Haha. I didn't mean for people to watch the entire video. It was the only other evidence of their company besides their website. I'm sure id get plenty of things to read about the company if I could speak chinese. This is great info thanks! Good catch with the POE. I swore it had it, but researching 100's of cameras made me over look it. The bullet version has POE as an option. As for the sensor size it seems like all of the 5MP cameras on the market have this 1/2.5" or similar size sensor. Even the $1500 axis cameras. (obviously with higher quality optics). So are you saying most of the 5MP cameras on the market have poor low light quality? Thanks for the recommendations!
  3. Yes, this is my first post to this forum as I am new to the video surveillance world. Preface: I will be using a 4-8 IP camera setup for home surveillance. I found this camera company when trying to find a cheap chinese 5mp IP camera. BL-IR800E-C50 5.0 Megapixel Infrared Dome Camera 2592×1920@10FPS 1/2.5"CMOS http://aebell.us/en/productinfo.asp?id=476&proclass1_en_id=2&proclass2_en_id=15&proclass3_en_id=92 I found them through alibaba and had to request a quote for the price. $165.60 for the indoor dome with IR! $176.90 for the outdoor bullet with IR. I'm thinking this might be too good to be true. I figure most of the cameras are made in China anyways, but I have found ZERO reviews or even mentions of this brand ANYWHERE. This youtube video makes it seem like the company is huge Has anyone heard of this brand? Purchased the cameras? Sample day/night video quality? Also, is there any NVR that can record 4-8 cameras of 5mp video at 10fps? Thanks for your help!
