I used to be a distributor of Ganz gear, not a bad product really, those are very similar to some we imported that had Sharp chipsets, can you confirm this, look the Ganz gear is great and well priced but they arent in my top 5 anymore as they dont make as much in japan any more and failure rates started to fall.

agreed, I only found out the other day that we are now the Extreme CCTV distributors for Australia, mind you we dont sell much because our stuff rarely needs that much work, in other words they are very low light anyhow... but the gear is good and VERY well designed. Tell me the licence capture is it any good? -

Dusan, the thing about geo is that it always has the latest features, hell even my Bosch stuff does not come close, bt geo is a real pain to deal with.. Thomas is probably the best operator and the most knowledgeable person in here and they use Comart boards and SDK to make their own stuff and it is very impressive but Geo will always have more features as they have more staff and more money. But to deal with Geo i would rather slide down a 40ft razor blade using my testickles for Brakes, they will sell to anyone so distribution of their product is a pain... they dont regulate their pricing so you never know where to set your price, theys ell to end users and dealers and lie to say they dont, they also deny any problems even though they are aware of them and they never aadmit a fault... be very wary of geo as they will use you to get their aim. But yes as far as features go, they are the best -

25 fps realtime recording across 6-8 cameras ?

Actually I thought Surelabs was developed here in Australia, used to know the guy, was going to look to employ him??? As for speed of recordings, the limit is still the PCI bus, and most manufactorers rate their speeds on 320x240 and forget to emntion that once a certain number of cams is reached, thats it the PCI bus is full and thats your limit... the only way to get around this is hardware based compression, but this is still alittle expensive these days -

Metz.. i have to disagree, my thoughts are that Bosch have the best cams, closely followed by pano but Bosch's pricing puts them way ahead.. as for Ikegami, I agree about the service problems and the way they do business but for low light there is nothing in the market as good, they have some pretty poor low quality cams but their 1/2" and 1" cameras have to be seen to be believed, they struggle with bright lights and havea tendancy to overshoot and vertically smear, but the low stamp is excellent, keeping solid contrast while providing very bright results. i know they are not Pano or Bosch and their lower end is not even equivelant to Samsung Crap but their high enb 1" cameras are unreal, but very ugly, not even sure if they make them any more, but long before Pano and Bosch ikegami Sushemi were bringing 1" cameras that were excellent in low light and obviously are very sensitive with light gradients and they also handle sulpher lighting very well.... like I said, bosch all the way and Pano is excellent too, but ikegami isn't that bad -
You will probably find that the reason your camera is out of focus is because of back focus, did you focus the camera at night or during the day with a neutral density filter, night time will open the iris and therefore will adjust the focal point making it fuzzy and very slightly out of focus, and If your camera has a removable filter then it will alao affect the focal point as the adjustment of the filter will chnage the distance to the sensor. Also make sure that if you have the cam in a housing that you put the lens flush against the glass of the housing or you could be casting reflctions or creating a scond lens and therefore adjusting your focal point, this is why flip top outside housings are usefull so that you can adjust the focus through the glass. Nice choice of equipment but you could have tried the Bosch 495 at a much cheaper pricing, if you realy wantto be impressed go for a 620 cam and a 1/2" lens and you will be very surprised.. I can still see blue sky late at night when the sky is almost black on mine.

yes yes I know you all knew I would say it... but there is nothing close to Pana and Bosch for cameras at the moment, excepting perhaps Ikegami which in my opinion would be a close third -
Yes but you were talking about 4 dvr's on each UPS, honestly if it were me I would sue one UPS in a rack mount and add rack batteries, it will cover all 6 power issues and should shut down all machines
-
That is correct, but makes sure your UPS is capable of shutting down all 4 machines

Does anyone like or dislike Panasonic and why?
cctv_down_under replied to MetzLyov's topic in General Digital Discussion
My two cents.... excellent products in camera range but a bit pricey, they have stuffed their distribution channels too many times and their new DVr is nice but far to hard to use. -
I agree 1 unit to do all and communication through ethernet only problem is that if one circuit goes and happens to be the one the UPS is on, then all machines shut down even if they are on different circuit

Guys I would like to see the global feedback on Bosch Product, I realise that most of you do not use expensive gear, however I would liek some feedback ASAP. I would also like written feedback as I cant ask every question in the poll. Thanks Guys

BOSCH.. Need Urgent Feedback!!!!!

Your kidding arent you.. I wouldnt say that looked better at all really, but can see what you mena about the casing looking like industrial which may suit that aplication. can you get the dimensions as none were listed there I would like to check the size, me thinks bevilled edges look nicer than plastic block and I would have to say I prefer a metal finish than a plastic one. both have 360 gimble, Bosch has a monicle for focusing as well and a TV Out option, have another look at the fitting options Rory as I have a similar mount to that one. I would be interested to ask the punters which one looks better http://www.wizkidoptotech.com/press/uploads/Spyder-Rugged-Eye.pdf http://64.106.152.23/ItemPage.cfm?PrdctGroup_ID=81&cntry_ID=50&lang_ID=1 have to admit though 5yr is an awesome guarentee, but cant see it on their info, I reckon its a tight call but yes yours do look good -

cctv_down_under replied to cctv_down_under's topic in General Digital Discussion
Ummmmmm Rory, you havent said why you cant mount it on the wall, I am betting the XT dome is actually more suited than the wizkid dome for this, it has a rubber mount, is spring loaded, comes with wall mount and even conduit adaptor and can 360 swivel and flush mount so i don't understand your statement of how the wizkid dome is better suited for it... not saying it isn't just want to know how it is better suited -

BOSCH.. Need Urgent Feedback!!!!!
cctv_down_under replied to cctv_down_under's topic in General Digital Discussion
Why can you not mount it directly on a wall, it has 360 degree gimble and optional mountings for conduit etc
