Which Manufacturer
cctv_down_under replied to CCTVINSTALLER's topic in General Access Control Discussion
i have to say the best ACCESS stuff I have seen is HID and Cardax, but I just got to see the new BIS system by Bosch, we had a product roadmap meeting and there will be some amazing things happening in the next few months, and some things that the industry has never had before...very happy camper!! but back to BIS. BIS is a system that links PA, CCTV, Access, Intusion, I.P and Fire, all into one control package, it allows cad like drawings and ful control of all aspects over the Open Protocol, For example if a smoke detector goes of, then it pops up on duty managers, screen, he has floorplan through HTML and a web page opens telling him his procedure to rmedy the problem and remove the alert from his screen, so he actions it to security guard. Security guard gets alert, logs in and sees false alarm, presses button to release access floor way anyhow to make a path of escape, presses another button to launch PA Adress with warning, checks cameras for any people, then goes to have a look. Gets there realises false alarm, sits on terminal there, or uses PDA and actions it to maintenance. maintenance gets message on screen, actions it to test for fualt, tests it and then actions to wharehousing to order another one..and so on.. it is very cool indeed all configurable and links everything... Bosch just bought an access control company along with VCS video transmition company and it all links together. -
things to check: 1/ Is it plugged to Video in, not video out? 2/ Have you switched the remote toggle, TV/Vid/AV 3/ Have you tried it on the telly first?

The very best DVR card
cctv_down_under replied to Integratek's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
in my humble opinion this is a very good point lets face it it all stemmed from h.264, industry standard is Mpeg4 and the best is Mpeg2 but no one can afford that space yet so it is a way off!!! i find it interesting that the majority of IT guys love Geo, I did after all, they are the leaders in features but maybe not in quality, i think they will be strong one day as it all moves to I.P -
Oh yeh nearly forgot hermy!!!! your a legend too dude

Hey Guys, Anyone heard of Rover Cameras, in particular the zoom or pan tilt ones, I heard of models called RV682 RV581 217ZF, D7722R If you know anything about these let me know, could be an installer code, but maybe its a manufacturer I havent heard off. Thanks GC

Tis all good,,,, found them, but thanks guys.. yeh been really busy with the new job, boy we do some big jobs, and GOSH bosch has some exciting gear.. not just saying it, the BIS system that you will all hear about soon is insane, even I can not getmy head around it, do not get much time these days to do anything, it is sat night now and beside the fact that I am having a few nice Sav Blancs, I am also making sure my demo kit is ready for the next demo.... wholy cow it is insane, they may pay well but they get their work out of you, really guys... hay heres my low down, the Divar well its about as good as the kalatel, better in some areas.. like networking etc but falls down in others.. hell i could get sacked for saying this!! The Dibos is great for massive projects.. but the cams.. well bugger me.. ther is not a better product... not ven close. not even remotely close!!!! they are bloody awesome, and i do mean awesome, they are so smart!! i cant keep up with it, selling sooooooo many cams it's insane!!! i will try to get back in here i want you guys to look at the BIS thing but bugger me they have some big plans!!!! I still miss my small company though, things arent the same working for a corporation!!

coops, discussing this with our staff, my disagreement is that we only sell f1.4 lenses, and asking why we do that with such a good low light camera, the response from the experts is that f stop is not important as much if the t factor is good and therefore we do not need them.???

OK OK, so I always used 12V for my jobs so never had to worry about it.. I have a problem I have a standalone machine that has a secondary monitor output that is sequencing, the idiots fed this into two x 1 in 8 out distributors (does not appear to be amps) to get 15 monitor outputs, some of the montiors have a roll in the picture when rotating which i assume is a sync problem but I am not sure.. it seems it could be one of three things. 1/ The switching on the spot monitor is set too fast and the distributors when recieveing the switch are not keeping up 2/Syncronisation needs to be done to line lock the cameras. 3/ A weak signal is present. I am not sure how syncronisation works with line lock and would have thought that the DVR would compensate for this and that if it was fine on the DVR it must be fine on the monitors...is this correct.. and if not how does sync work, i understand the priciple of the sine wave but how is it set up to be adjusted...do you flick a switch, must power be run in a series, how does it work.. The DVR is a Divar and the cameras are 24V powered Dinion XF's Thanks in advance guys.

The very best DVR card
cctv_down_under replied to Integratek's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
hay com4 I am a fan of pc systems, but your description is hardly SIMPLE for most, its easier to just click one butto on standalone, dont you think.... mind you standalones really do lack features. -

Bosch.... need feedback
cctv_down_under replied to cctv_down_under's topic in General Digital Discussion
I agree CCTV, they seem to have a bifg gap from high to low end, can you email me tose brochures i would liek to see them, must admit Bosch are insane with the amount of marketing material available -
That would be my guess, or an old version of IE, or a block made on the install of codecs or lastly a half installed codec... helll, now I know why you love standalones so much rory... easier not to have to worry bout this shait

cctv_down_under replied to Integratek's topic in General Digital Discussion
T pieces should not be used on PC equipment, when long runs are used, the difference is that a pc requirs 1.1 v pk to pk, where a standalone only requires 1v pk to pk, most stand alones have amplification, that is why you have never had to worry rory, but you should always use a Distribution amp when using pc based equip for longer runs -
Crock...... Only three reasons why you can connect from other pc's and not that one... 1/ you have old version of explorer on that machine without ligis indigo codec 2/ you are behind a router or your ISP blocks certain postes for commincation, you will ned to port forward for this. 3/ youa re running firewall type softwrae that blocks ports If you can load the page and not connect the password, my guess is either you half installed the codec or you have port 3550, 4550,or 550, blocked on your router. make sure your first page loads all the way skipping it or using a shortcut will make your machine try to connect to the local host
