Pocket PC remote viewers
cctv_down_under replied to loop's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
the i-Mode from Geo is pretty cool, but all in all you only get a resoluiton the size of your phone and you only get trnasmition the speed of your bluetooth, serial or wireless lan, so pretty poor really on ALL products -

Bosch.... need feedback
cctv_down_under replied to cctv_down_under's topic in General Digital Discussion
Dont have images, wide dynamic is tsandard in all XF cameras, I have a demo CD if only I had a FTP site, it has everything that the Bosch can do -
the bosch doems are very good, but rather overpriced, they have suspension springs and everything int he XT series, they even have a cable to connect to service montior, they arent bad and even opening one up will show you the differing level of electronics, but compared to the price of the XF Dinion and standard Dinion ranges, mate I would not use the dome ..thoise CS mount cams are so good the dome pales in comparison. mind you they are smash proof and very well made, but for bang for bucks it seems the CS mount range from bosch really kicks arse

Well, everybody knows I am not short of an opinion... however i also feel pretty confident in saying that most people know I am not full of Crap!. I have only recently started with Bosch and I have not posted for nearly 1 month (I used to do 5 to 50 a day) i have been learning the Bosch product line.. This is my findings.... The PC Based 32Ch DVR needs some work, it falls very short of some of the other High End PC Units even though it has a lot of great integration features, it is way overpriced for our market. The Standalone, and many of you now I have sampled the kalatel and the Dm Units, is excellent a really large resolution on recording, it would be a lot better if it did have a faster frame rate, however the features set is very good, it has some disadvantages over the Kalatel and some over the DM but it has some major advantages as well, the networking suite is better than both products combined and the recordings are better than I have ever seen, there are a bunch of nifty features in the Divar that in my opinion place it as the equal best standalone on the market, luckily it is cheaper than the DM and Kalatel, so i have been kept very busy... for those of you that are now raising their eyebrows considering how much I praised a well built PC unit, my views have not changed, however I wil say that a strong pc user expects a certain level of failure, and I think that this is what biases us when it comes to stability statements, hell I cant break the Divar, it does not even have an On/Off switch.. it just NEVER fails NEVER.. i must admit it is swaying my ideas about standalones as it just NEVER fails...however PC based units have sooooo many features. The Cameras.. well put simply... nothing and I do mean NOTHING...comes close.. not for picture quality, not for ease of use... not for upgradability, not for stabilty, not for Nuthin!!! The cameras are the Best in the world.. and yes I would have said that if I worked for them or not 3yr warranty and 7 year support, programable up a coaxial cable, 15 bit technnology and the new day nighters about to be released and they will be chaper than Ganz and others, they are not to be missed, I have never seen a better image on ANY camera and I have tried them all....Pano, Sanyo, Ikegami, Ganz.. the list goes on.. they are the best, the very best and nothing comes close, you dont put a 7yr support to a product that will fail. We are selling massive amounts of the cameras however the PC based Dibos still needs to get going.. In short Bosch is very commited to support has Great intrusion products and the best cameras in the world, however i would say that it is only ON PAR with the Kalatel for DVR but it kills its cameras

problem to play avi file from geovision - need advice
cctv_down_under replied to atn234's topic in Geovision
Try downloading the Ligos Indigo Codec, or install service pack on your XP machines, are the machines that you can not play it on...XP or 98 -
That is CCD damage, you probably changed the lens on a dome camera, and may have screwed it in too far and damged the CCD some board lenses have longer shanks than others, other than that it could be just a very badly damged CCD from bad electronics, this usually only happens when the ccd gets major damge or heating issues

Ok, Most of you know me by now.. if you don't I am the opinionated bugger that knows everything.. If you don't believe me just read my posts. Ok so we have established that i am a bit of a bugger but I do know a lot about CCTV especially PC Based DVR's, so I am interested to see what kind of salary you guys think I could get overseas. I love my job and I am second in command..to a man that knows way more than I do and a good friend but I was considering taking a holiday and wondered if my career would go further Overseas.. Can any of you estimate what kind of salary I would get over there?

What can anyone tell me about this standalone from Bosch
-
Is it possible???
cctv_down_under replied to Sanra's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
come come now boys... mention the problems of having that many cams in one box.... yes many DVR's can do more than 16 cams, the one I sell now does 32ch and 16 I.P channels, or so I am told, still to learn it yet -
Mate if you just register a business name you can buy direct from Geo yourself, they will sell to anyone, it really is a good product but its ethics and marketing are well below par

actually the Divar is going to be reduced this year, I already have the discounted pricing, i am still learning it, it has some downfalls and some major goodies, I was surprised...very suprised -
Each chip represents the abilty to present or record 25FPS, you arent paying for the chips, they really are not that expensive, you are paying for the design of the software and the card, hardware onboard compression chips increase the prices considerably as these take the load from the cpu, you see the problem also is that you can only throw so much down the PCI bus, hence the 4 chips per pci bus. if you are going to use hardware onboard compression, then you will need server stabdard boards, like true intel branded server boards, with fast bus speeds, the advantage of having the card do the compression is that it is compressed before hitting the bus, allowing for more room for data and therefore the ability to handle larger resolutions, in fact it would be almost accurate to say that to get full pal images at realtime over 16 cameras you would need hardware compression. watch the price rise when geo brings these boards out!!, i would also be very surprised if it allows for more then one compression type

Anyone?.... hanging to know if it is any good
-
Thanks for that but i really need feedback on this particular product, especially any problems it might have
-
that install feature is on all 6.1 disks
-
where the card states the number of cameras (little sticker) what does it say after the number... SP, S1? Sounds like one of two things, your trying to load 6.1 onto a system that has a SP dongle, you cant do that. Or you loaded the software before the drivers... this is common
-
Nope not my life and blood, have to admit I doubt Bosch will be better than Geo, but we will wait and see, I know there cameras are second to very few indeed. Must admit will be sad to leave the best DVR in the world, oooooh and rory, they also make standalones......woohooo!!!
